2nd trimester ladies, anyone feeling completely better?

I am just curious if anyone felt a complete 180 change from lack of energy and no more nausea once they hit 2nd trimester. (I think by now some ladies should have hit 2nd). I am 11w5d now, and I am just DYING to just wake up one day feeling like my old self again! Anyone feel better now? And when did it start? Thanks! :)

Re: 2nd trimester ladies, anyone feeling completely better?

  • I'm 14w4d and for me it seems that a couple symptoms are slowly fading. For example, over the last week or two I've gone from peeing 3-4x per night to 1-2x. I'm also able to drink larger amounts of water at one sitting and not get nauseated. However, in that same time span heartburn and headaches have come on. Still waiting on the 2nd trimester ease myself.

  • Yes! Sickness stopped around week 10, energy has been slowly coming back, and I'm only peeling 1 time a night most nights now. I even went back to the gym this week (although I'm no where near able to do what I used to). I'm 13w5 days. Hang in there, you've almost made it!

  • Not yet... but I did find out I have a really bad ear infection yesterday, so it may very well be some of the nausea, dizziness, and aches are actually not the fault of pregnancy.

FX the antibiotics fix me, and then I am alllllll better.

  • I'm not in the second trimester yet. I'm at 12w3d. But I did notice in the last couple days I'm able to wake up earlier and feel energized again as opposed to completely drained. I still have the nausea though. I'm waiting for that one to go away!
  • I'm a few days past 13 weeks and the morning sickness is worse, not better, sorry to say.  Around 11 weeks though, I saw a general uptick in energy.  A few slow days when the pukey feeling has been at its worse, but generally perkier than I was a month ago.
  • 13w4d here... Still throwing up every morning... Appetite is getting a little better at night, still some food aversions.
a little more energy during day
  • I'm 13w2d now, but started feeling my energy come back around 11w... woohoo! However, now it seems I've traded my energy for heartburn. I'll take it, though.

  • I'm 14w1d and not feeling much better. Still throwing up and my headaches are in full force. I had a burst of energy on Tuesday and nothing since.
  • I'm 13 weeks today and the nausea is almost completely gone. I still can't even look at red meat though. I thought my energy was coming back but a cold last week knocked me on my ass. I'm feeling much better now!

It's different for everyone but hang in there!

  • Almost a complete 180. Currently 13 weeks 3 days, my morning sickness and nausea went away around 10/11 weeks. I would also get light headed a lot and that went when the nausea went. Energy is picking up like crazy, and down to only using the bathroom once during the night granted I drink water all the way up until I go to bed and I'm usually asleep by 9:30PM. I will still occasionally, like once a week, feel a little sick but it only lasts for no more than an hour. Finally starting to feel like myself again and I couldn't be happier, now time to enjoy pregnancy!

I never had morning sickness but my general feeling of exhaustion, sore boobs, painful hips and crappiness has not faded. I believe my words to DH last night were, "I'm not doing this again."
  • @WinnieLou82, so nice to hear I'm not the only one saying things like that.  I've already told my husband that if I am queasy the whole 9 months, we will be one baby and done!!
  • Nausea did go away but new symptoms came like constant heartburn after I eat. Peeing 3x/night went away at 10 weeks...THEN IT CAME BACK at like 13 weeks. Now I get these lower abdomen pressure & discomfort paired with low bachache at times. Itchy boobs went away but now nipples hurt like needles poking at them.

I don't think I'll feel like myself again for a very long time!
  • I am 13w5d. I feel like the exhaustion is slowly starting to fade, thank god. I am still having heartburn, mild cramps, gas and general "don't f*** with me" shortness. As of today, I am starting to be much more emotional, I think there will be a lot of random cries in my future. Not looking forward to that.
  • Only 11weeks 2 days here but the nausea has been slowly getting better just like it slowly got worse and worse around week 5-6. I still get nauseous most nights around bedtime along with some serious indigestion/burping. Hoping that over the next few weeks, it'll go away completely and I'll get my energy level back. Beginning to feel like a sloth!
  • Just started 2nd trimester today... I've been a lucky one and have been completely fine throughout. But, with my 1st I didn't feel great and week 14 I started feeling better and getting my energy back.

  • Thanks for all the responses!! It seems like just everyone is so different and so it's hard to tell what will happen. Today I started getting heartburn...what a crazy feeling. I really have never had it. It really sucks. It's making me more nauseous. lol. So sorry to those of you where symptoms went away then came back!! That sucks!!! I seriously want to start working out again too. But man...it's hard when your exhausted and sick all the time!! I feel like a slug!

  • Yes! Energy is so much higher. I bragged to my husband that I haven't napped on 3 days! Stomach still a little off and some random heartburn but I will take it. I feel like a person again!
  • I have my good days and my bad days. I feel like some days more tired than others. I know I want to eat more lol. I think it's crazy how different each pregnancy is. I'm 13weeks and 5days.

  • 14 weeks and two days and I feel worse. Nausea has increased, my headaches are worse. I'm breaking out like crazy and feel tired all the time. My hipd feel so sore. This is my third and a girl with my boys I didn't feel like this in the second tri. Maybe because I'm having a girl who knows but hoping it decreases a bit
  • 14w3d and still exhausted, I do have a 2 DD. So I feel like by the time I get done with work and spend time with her I am worn out. But my afternoon lulls have gotten much better! For awhile every day at 2:30sh I was struggling at work to keep my eyes open at my desk!!
    I pee probably 2 times a night.
But my body is achey and my nipples are right there with @AliKay20 lol shooting pain in my nipples!
  • 14 w1d ,i wish I felt human again..so over the 24/7 nausea and vomiting, heartburn how do I get heartburn from drinking water! ?!? Exhaustion, rlp, headaches and the boobs geesh don't even get me started on the boobs and  needle nips.....oh yeah and a whole new level of no patience super bitch over here.....so in other words,i feel just frickin peachy lol but I am super happy for u mom's that feel great and I'm hoping these symptoms don't last the entire pregnancy and labor like they did with my 18 mo old(they had to slow down my labor to get my vomiting under control and bring in an extra nurse for the lovely duty of puke bucket holding...) on the plus side, I'm having a girl finally after 2 boys lol
  • Nausea was pretty much gone around 12 weeks for me, though if I forget to eat on time, it can come back. I'm still getting some fatigue, but yes, feeling much better!

  • To answer simply... Yes and No.  At the end of my 13th week I felt a burst of energy, but I wore myself out by doing too much over the weekend.  I still get pretty exhausted, but nothing compared to the 1st trimester.  I was one of those "lucky ones" that never got M/S in my first tri, so I figure a little extra exhaustion during the 2nd is manageable.  I find that the days that I can take walks I feel so much better.  Everyone is different though, and it really seems to be the kind of thing to take day-by-day.  Some days are going to be much better than others, especially if you live somewhere with crazy weather changes (like me up here in the NE). Take advantage of the days you feel really good, and give yourself a break on the days you don't feel so hot.

  • I'm 11w1d, and my mom keeps telling me I should feel better any day now. I recently feel like my MS is getting worse, so I took a poll on Ovia asking when people's MS went away, and almost everybody chose the answer 14wks+....it totally discouraged me. My friend had MS throughout her entire pregnancy, and I'm really hoping I won't be the same.
  • Yeah, I do find that some days are worse than others. Some days my energy is better...some days nausea is better then worse. I think the weather changes her DON'T help. (North Texas) 70's one day, 40's the next...so crazy.

Also, yeah, everyone at work is like "you're STILL sick?!" I am like...uh yeah! I am not even done with the first trimester! What gets bad is people seem to understand and feel bad for you being sick until it lasts for weeks and weeks and weeks and they are just like "okay, that's enough you should be feeling better and I don't feel sorry for you" (not that anyone has said that exact thing...but it's close!)

My mom was sick only through first tri with me...with my sister she had NO m/s...and with my other sister she was sick her whole pregnancy. So many different sickness and all the same person. Ovia is like..."you should be starting to feel better soon!" Thanks for giving me hope pregnancy app..
