We just started painting and are having the carpet cleaned this weekend (our now nursery was formally our foster cat/dog room) but we are painting the walls gray (with one darker gray one that will have the decal pictured below). The decal will look very similar to the one shown but with purple instead of light pink and some aqua worked into the butterflies. We just haven't received our draft yet with our colors. The mobile will be the same except in our colors (hot pink, purple, & aqua/turquoise). I tried to find a good picture of the colors and the third one below is most similar but with purple instead of the yellow/orange (and also her name is not Kaitlyn).
I am a little irritated with myself that I didn't realize the paint has to cure for 12 weeks before the decals go on so it will be a while before it's all done but I will post pics after we finish painting and building furniture this weekend!
We're doing a Beauty and the Beast theme for her nursery. Haven't gotten him to paint yet but here's some stuff we do have This is going to be a canopy over her crib with the resin cast stained glass beneath it (like between the sheer curtains).
This is what we're using as a guestbook for the shower. Each person will use their thumbprint as a petal and write their name in it. My friend is painting it for us.
The resin cast stained glass is in the corner and we have a big portrait of the kinkade artwork (not a puzzle) in her room as well. Furniture will be dark and linens are white and navy. Walls will be yellow. Her chandelier came in too but I can't seem to find a pic of that.
I don't have pictures to share (yet!), but I have a question--are you all putting rugs in your nurseries? I'm looking for a nice area rug, but I'm being fussy about material (I want cotton or wool--no thanks to polypropylene) and that's driving up the cost. I'm reluctant to spend $500+ on an area rug in the nurseries since I assume it will get destroyed with baby vomit, toddler destruction, etc. What is everyone else doing? Or just your thoughts on area rugs?

Not in the current one. I did in DSs nursery as it was wood floors. We found one on clearance at Lowes or Home Depot.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
I made a time lapse video of me and my bestie taking the tape off but never actually took a picture of it. So here is a not very good quality photo of my 'accent' wall. Since we found out we are having a girl this week, the colors are gray, mint and coral (if we were having a boy it would have been gray, mint and navy)
So the overall theme we're going with...I would call it "rustic elegance + adventure" or something along those lines. I wanted to do a natural/woodsy theme and it slowly morphed into a combination of things.
I ordered these crib sheets which is kind of driving everything else at this point. Once they get here, I'm going to try and pick two different paint colors - one for a darker accent wall where the crib will be, and one for the three remaining walls.
I'm really into the arrows and neutral colors, with pops of color here and there - I thought that would be perfect considering we're team green. I'm just having a really hard time envisioning the room as a whole and how to tie everything together without it looking mismatched.
Also, if anyone has any input for complementary colors that would go with the crib sheets above and tie into the overall color palette, I'm all ears! I'm looking for paint colors (walls) and accent colors for wall decor, etc.

Would you be open to a pale orange wall color? With gray and taupe? Kind of like this? Or taupe or gray walls with the others as orange.

This is where being team green is so hard because if its a girl I want to do such a girly nursery with golds and pinks, and if its a boy I want to go all Nautical & whales... IDK how to prepare for this!!!

Would never have thought to look there, so thanks for the tip.
@MsBeachNJ we are team pink and here's my inspiration. I plan on adding pink accents like a soft rug and pillows and crib sheets. We did buy the whale poster because I love it plus it will go good if we have a boy next. We are still deciding on a color for the walls. Currently they are tan with one navy but DH now wants pink
edited to say "great minds think alike" I love whales.
These aren't the exact prints but this is my theme. adventure/tribal theme. Colors are mint, white and grey, can't decide if I'd like to use navy blue as an accent color or orange. I want to keep the bedding really simple. I splurged with DD and she never once used her beautiful quilt. Also, he won't be in his Crib for months so...I'll save my money...

@SouthernVOL I love it! This is somewhat similar to the overall theme I'm going for.
Not quite nursery but kind of, planning on making a similar quilt to this as the one girl specific item in the nursery, not that they'll use a blanket for the first year or so... Depending on the amount of fabric left I may also make a skirt for the crib but that's still up in the air.
Very nice ladies! @catherinekate I'm with you on the area rug. We definitely need one since we have hardwood floors but I am also reluctant to buy an expensive one. We might look at Home Depot or Lowes because we've had good luck there.
I attached what our nursery currently looks like (we are replacing the walls, carpet & door). And then our chair, bedding and crib that I just ordered yesterday!!
I don't have much but things are starting to come together a little in my head... First two are the colors of baby's room which will be separated by white chair railing... A lamp and some wall decor... And the fabric for the glider/recliner and the crib.
Love so many of these ideas! I'm so not the creative type so this inspiration board is amazing and will definitely be helpful when we get to start working on the nursery!
@lilbitt3 - LOVE those colors!! Can't wait to see what you do with those

We have a (relatively boring) area rug in our living room. I paid $30 at Walmart.
We just picked up part of the nursery furniture. We chose white Sorelle Tuscany/Princeton (depending on what site you're on) 4-drawer dresser and the 4-in-1 crib with changer attachment. And DH picked out the bedding set. And I LOVE it!!!! Its not TOO girly, but still pink.
We bought our crib, dresser and night stand today... All white (from ikea). And we got our paint color (like a seafoam green). Haven't decided on a theme yet but here are the general colors.... Will post pics as it start to come together!
We are team green... I don't want everything to be grey
It's either going to be elephants or Dr Seuss. Or both.
I have a great collection of Dr Seuss books I want to do in floating shelves (nostalgic for me) and I just ordered a beautiful elephant picture for the wall.
Those are our colours too, although we're doing mint rather than seafoam green (splitting hairs I guess, I know colours are virtually identical). Love it @joose159
These are all really wonderful! Love seeing the inspiration. DH and I are living in a studio and will be moving in August when baby is 2mths old so our nursery will be delayed a bit. Boo! But I can't wait to see all of yours all finished and lovely!
We love grays and taupe with vivid green and will do a woodland theme using photos from my hiking adventures and some prints on metal (looks very vivid/hd) from east and west to represent us both. here's what we have so far (the crib will have a matching dresser/changing table, the owl and fox are not my photos):
So being team green I'm going to paint the nursery all white, buy bedding for both sexes (return what we don't need) and I'll pre pick out the decorations & order them based on what we have. This is what I've come up with for our boy theme! (Crib & glider are regardless of gender though I haven't decided about glider color yet)
It's FINALLY starting to come together. I'm super please with it. I still have to get my chair, mount few other pics and PICK A NAME to have a wooden piece made for above the crib.

To be totally honest the color we chose might be mint not seafoam green. I don't know enough about the differences in the colors to say
sdnybrk Love your fabric choices. Its a bit close to what were looking at. A sort of girlie woodland fairy theme so definitely floral and antlers!
amidavey06 The bedding (and crib) in your first pic is adorable!!
Knottie44691675 We're doing like basically the exact same theme! I am dying to see how yours turns out. I even have some of those exact same pics on my pinterest board
As far as where we are at: The room is still totally the wrong color and full of its old furniture, but we needed to paint the living room to move the furniture down. The living room is SO close to being done, 2 more coats of paint on just one wall. Nursery furniture (center bottom below) is waiting for us to schedule delivery! Overall the theme is very much nature and fairies, with a sort of antiqued touch. Green "grass" rug, Grey patterned chair and grey paint are waiting downstairs as well!
I think we've settled on a space theme. Of course we could change our minds a million times again but I think in going to do some art work inspired by these
@Huskerfanz - the yellows, taupes, and orange was exactly what I thought when I saw mrsschmity's sheets. I think that is a great palette for a gender neutral nursery.
@MsBeachNJ I too, struggled with being team green but having different nursery ideas for each sex. I finally settled on a neutral theme of stars, sun, and moon with some vintage planes and hot air balloons. I might add some pink down the road if one or both of the twins turns out to be girls, if I have time.
