Let's start a nursery thread!

I've noticed that people are starting to post things they are making and ideas they have for their nurseries. I thought it would be fun to start a thread where people can post their ideas, pictures their rooms, things they've made, even pinterest pictures! It'll be fun to see the progression of the rooms! Plus I need inspiration and motivation to get started!!

Well we have gutted and rebuilt our entire 200 year old house so here's part of the nursery. New framing, insulation, sheet rock and plaster and new wide plank flooring. It got a coat of paint not pictured here and next we have to trim out the windows and doors and have the floors sanded and polyed. Then the decorating can begin

I have started nothing yet, but here are some things I want to do. (I'm not sure how to make it not sooo big!!). For my DS, my husband painted a navy stripe on the wall so I want to do that again in these boys' room but instead of navy it will be green. I want to make the sign for the boys' room. I think the colors of the room will be Kelly green, navy and grey.

We haven't started yet because we were pricing out what renovations would cost. We had wanted to tear down the real wood paneling that is currently in the nursery, update the wiring and light fixtures, and then rewall and paint. Financially that does not look plausible. We will just paint the existing paneling and fix some of the wiring that we can get too. We are planning on painting it white with navy accent half walls (we live in a cape, so the rooms have slanted walls). I think we are going to do an aeronautical theme in red, white and blue.

I'm trying to figure out how to decorate a room that will be shared by my 18 month old daughter and her new little brother haha maybe we'll just split it down the middle

I get to cheat because we just moved out daughter out of the nursery to share a room with ds, and the new baby is a girl. So basically I just have to clean it

the he yellow we painted before my 4 year old was born, but the glider I got used and recovered, and the shelves, the mobile I made, the frames, and white accent on the crib wall were all done right before dd was born. Haven't decided if I'm going to change anything before this little girl arrives. (The yellow is not as overly bright and dark as it looks in the picture).

@Amberliz99 I love the floating bookshelf! I was planning on doing that in my DS's room but never got around to it. Since we already have the shelves, i'll put them in the boys' room.

We just moved my 21 month old in with her older brother. Their beds are on either side of the window at one end of the room, they split the closet down the middle (double sliding door closet, so easy, ) and their toys and books are organized on the other side of the room. My son's special or small toys are in higher shelves in the closet so that dd won't get into them.

Color palette for navy coral and mintlove love love this together it makes me sooo happppyyy

We just found out we are having a girl and these are the colors I think I want to go with! I love the Coral, Aqua, and Navy Blue together, maybe with a pop of yellow in there too!

Now that we know the gender, putting the nursery together will be lots of fun! Our walls are beige with a white trim....we haven't started anything yet but it is fun to start planning!

Need to bring a crib over from my aunt and uncles. It's wood so won't match but free. Also need to finish art work. Burlap will have their initial. May do a project with the zebra print, too. And bring glider over from DS's room.

I did buy stuff that's still packed away that will go up once we move in. We have a grey and white room with navy blue and red accents theme going on and this is what I have for some of the decor

It's sold at Target. I bought their gold paint with gold dust that you add.

We have a one bedroom apartment that we can't do much to, but we're going to make the baby a little corner/nook. We've already kind of split the room in half.

I'm excited and overwhelmed about getting that done. I am so not creative or crafty. Bless you all with the ability to decorate a whole room and bless this thread.

In the process of buying a house so I'm super excited about getting to PAINT! No pictures yet but ds's room will likely be painted a teal or yellow (the furniture is grey) and safari themed. See below for my inspiration.

Here is my little boy's nursery so far. I have a few more things I want to get for it, including a baseball hat rack and a growing chart. I also plan on putting a few of his newborn pictures on the wall with his name.

We are doing pink and gray for baby girls room. Last weekend we (meaning DH) pulled up the ugly brown shag carpet so that we can do matching wood like the rest of the house. We (meaning mostly DH) painted her bedroom and closet gray this week. Waiting for the wood flooring to be delivered so we can start laying that down. Her furniture and crib will be DS's off white stuff, we bought him new dark brown furniture. We also bought her a chandelier to replace the light/fan! (1st pic is inspiration)

We changed the paint from an olive green to yellow over the past few weeks (no progress pictures...oops), repainted the trim and touched up the spots on the ceiling where DH got a bit too overzealous with the paint roller. I just finished my first decor item, crocheted monkey curtain ties in teal and white. If the baby is a girl we'll add a bow to the one without the bow, if its a boy we'll take the bow off but I wanted to see what it would look like and so staying on through the anatomy scan.

Going for a chic boy-ish "Sea Traveler" theme. We have traveled a lot over the years & this lil guys' daddy is the captain of a fishing boat.
Its #1 on the to-do list once we return from the Babymoon ...Iceland here we come!!

I love this thread! I adore decorating and designing rooms so this nursery has been so fun to plan! We are going with a wilderness/forest theme that isn't your typical cutesy designs. I LOVE mid century modern and fun splashes of color. We bought the dresser from a local shop for a steal ($200!) and its real vintage and in fantastic shape. It will double as the changing table. We also picked up the crib (PBK Kendall) from my DH's boss who used it for 5 days for his grandchild last year. Its in perfect condition. I also picked up the mid century yellow ginger pot lamp at the same shop and bought the new shade for it to modernize it a bit. We are keeping the wall color and window treatments in place. Now that we know we're having a girl, I'm going to work on decorating the walls.

The top picture is my inspiration board that I photoshopped together back during winter break and the bottom 2 images are the current nursery. The wall art will change for sure. What's pictured is leftover from my office.

I'm loving this thread! Definitely going to steal some of these ideas for myself! I'll also be room sharing for a bit so the nursery make over is probably going to take place sometime after the baby is born. I'm actually visiting my in laws this weekend to look at a rocking cradle that my MIL used to rock my DH in. She said she would love to give it to me to use for this baby, I'm just feeling hesitant because I haven't seen it yet so I'm not sure how safe it is for LO. I'll probably take it home, post a pic of it and ask you ladies what you think.

Baby will be sharing a room with our son so not much decorating going on here. Once I clean his room up a bit I can snap some pics and show you guys. But he had a hay day with his toys cars and they are everywhere in his room.

So - I am not "allowed" to touch a perfectly fine nursery until my DSs room and master bathroom are done. Talk about motivation

I want grey, red, and dark wood furniture in the nursery (see color pallet motivation)

Here is is the progress on my DSs room. Trim almost done being painted. Cutting in still has to occur. His bed will be a white/grey duvet with dark grey coverlet. He is going from a toddler bed to full size.

It's a work in progress. It's been painted (before & after pics...please ignore the unmade bed lol) & we have all of the furniture...hoping to move out the queen bed this weekend & put it in. We'll be accenting in blues, & elephants apparently...the things we've found are adorable (included a pic of the hamper we're getting), & DH is just as excited as I am. This is a big deal, lol.

@KOR121 thanks! We did neutral with both boys bc we've always been team green. This is the first time we've known gender and it's hard not to go crazy! They have a super hero room now and I'm hoping she can grow wit what we picked.

I'm loving all the other ideas! They are all so creative!

I love seeing all the differwnt nurseries! We are in the process of getting ready to buy a house, so I don't actually get to start with the nursery yet, but we are planning on a jungle animal theme. I havent decided if i like more cartoon-y type animals or realistic. Some potential things we like are below.

My parents have already bought the crib for us. I'm going with a gray color this time. The nursery will look vintage/shabby. Very sweet and girly. My mom will be helping me make the blanket and curtains to match. We already have a dresser painted white that will be used for a changing table.

I love seeing everyone's ideas and progress! We are "hopefully" going to start emptying the guest room this weekend so we will have a blank slate to work with moving forward. (That is if we get to stay in our house, we still don't know, but are pretending we are staying for now.)
We are thinking about a vintage mismatched theme for our little girls room. These pictures are Pinspiration.

We're doing a flower fairy nursery for our little girl! We're still clearing my junk out of the spare bedroom and hopefully starting the nursery by the end of the month. We're doing a lilac shade of purple, light pink and hints of green and brown for a forest/garden look. If I can figure out how to attach the picture, the upper left corner is some decorations my mom bought us this week and the rest is some etsy and Pinterest inspiration!
