Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!

Re: Weekly Health & Fitness Check-in (2/1)

  • Fitness goal? Get back to the gym at least three days a week and walk the other four in the neighborhood. With cold season my fitness game has been off.

Health goal? Not to gain 62lbs like last pregnancy. This may not be possibly if I get as sick as I did in first tri last time and gain as much water weight.

Challenges you’re facing this week? Weather for walking and fatigue for going to the gym. We do play dates in the morning so the gym has to be in the afternoon. Lately I have been exhausted by 2. So it's been difficult.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words: loyal, creative, adventurous, pessimistic, and short tempered.

  • Fitness goal? Yoga 3 times this week and 10,000 steps at least 6 days

Health goal? Drink 72 ounces of water a day

Challenges you’re facing this week? EXHAUSTION! I slept so much this past weekend. Finding the energy to work out after a full day at the office is going to be so challenging.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words Creative, organized, passionate, sarcastic, emotional

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!

  • @artcheese 2 pm is when I hit a wall as well! I am going to try taking a walking break this week to counter it since I can't nap like I did Saturday and Sunday.

  • Fitness goal? keep running as long as my cervix will hold out. So far I've been good about going back to swimming twice a week as well. Goal is to make those well into September if possible

Health goal? keep my first trimester weight gain controlled and have 4 pieces of fresh fruit a day

Challenges you’re facing this week? I'm going to have to transition back to morning running now that Phoenix is heating up  this is going to be a struggle with the fatigue right now

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words independent, chaos-loving  sarcastic runner

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!   I love this idea

  • Yay!  Thanks for doing this check-in @smmatt08

Fitness goal? For now my goal is to hit the gym 4-5 days a week.  3 days doing spin class, 2 days a week doing weight training.  Going to check with my OB at my first appointment whether a heart rate monitor is necessary or if I just listen to my body.  So far I've been feeling really good with spin class, so I'm going to keep it up.

Health goal? I want to stick with exercising and eating healthy this pregnancy.  Last pregnancy I gained about 14-15 lbs in first tri just with eating carbs trying to calm my nausea.  And I gave into way too many cravings (pizza, pop tarts, ice cream, etc). Hoping to keep it under control this time.  I was doing weight watchers before getting pregnant, and I am going to follow it still for now using maintenance points an re-evaluate in 2nd tri.

Challenges you’re facing this week? A blizzard hitting my area!  I have to miss one of my spin classes bc of weather conditions, so I got in a workout today.  Hoping roads are decent Wednesday so I can get back to it.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words: happy, witty, patient (usually), playful, caring

  • Fitness goal? Trying to make it to the gym to use the elliptical a few times a week at least.. I was going every day before I got my bfp, then I was out for a week or so because of sick kids..

Health goal? Not gain a whole bunch of weight this time.. I actually lost about 7lbs right before my bfp- I was on a weight loss crusade before becoming pregnant again, but my bfp snuck up on me ;)

Challenges you’re facing this week? Being nauseous, sick kids..

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words: funny, sarcastic, caring, loyal, and loving

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!

  • Fitness goal? Keep running as long as possible! And do something active (class, walk, video) at least 5 days a week

Health goal? Try to stick to a somewhat "balanced" diet...I eat a huge, veggie filled salad everyday for lunch. I have this fear that once morning sickness hits I won't be able to stomach the veggies. We'll see.

Challenges you’re facing this week? Running has been more of a mental challenge. Before my BFP I was like, "I'm going to run my whole pregnancy, it's totally safe....maybe I'll even run a half (slowly...just for fun)." Now every time I step on the treadmill, I get a little paranoid, slowing my pace down because I don't want to overdo it. Even though I know logically I can keep up previous habits during the first tri.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words: cheerful, impatient, dedicated, silly, emotional

  • Fitness goal? Continue my running plan for a half with my mom in April. Should be no problem if I don't get lazy. And continue to run and do yoga.

Health goal? Stop going overboard with sugar. It's my weakness.

Challenges you’re facing this week? I was sick last week and I'm NOT this week, but I'm still being lazy like I am.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words Quiet, Positive, Weird, Easy-going, Nature-loving

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night! This is great. I may journal it in my preg app to make sure I do it.

  • Good luck with your half training @OrangeEv! Is it your first?

  • @PeggyOlsonFTW Thank you! No, it's not my first. I run halves a lot, and have done 3 marathons. I've been running long distance for about 8 years so that's why I feel comfortable to continue. I think my body will adapt fine.

  • Fitness goal? Keep up my 5-6 days a week of working out. Usually 3-4 days of weight, one running and one spin day

Health goal? Not gain as much as last time and really focus on staying healthy in my diet

Challenges you’re facing this week? My problem so far has been overcoming the fatigue. I work out at 5AM everyday because that's the only time I have to do it. Increasingly getting harder to get out of bed. On top of getting tired quicker in my workouts which leads to a lot less intensity.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words Outgoing, loyal, impatient, cheerful, and sarcastic

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!

  • That's awesome @OrangeEv! I did my first last June while doing run/walk intervals. It felt so awesome afterward. I want to do another after this baby arrives. Maybe I'll do the same one as last time!

  • Fitness goal? Continue to go to the gym 3-5 times a week

Health goal? Not gain 50lbs this time around by eating better and continue with a good gym regimen

    Challenges you’re facing this week?none

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words

Honest, witty, smart, loyal friend, shy

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!

  • Fitness goal? Gym 3-4 times a week. Walk my dog further on off days.

Health goal? Drinking plenty of water, eating semi-healthy & gain as little back fat as possible.

Challenges you’re facing this week? I loooovvvveeee being in my bed. Even now at work I just want to go home and lay down.

GTKY: Tired, organized, determined, goal-oriented, fun

  • Fitness Goal: Keep up with the gym 3x per week.

Health Goal: Keep up with salads for lunch and don't binge on carbs and sugar.

Challenges This Week: I haven't wanted to move off the couch after work and I ate 3 cookies and 2 sandwiches for lunch today. Shit.

GTKY: Loud, friendly, type A, moody, impulsive
  • Fitness goal? Do something other than taking a nap. (I didn't work out much before)

Health goal? I'd like to not let myself go. I don't see being pregnant as a good excuse to suddenly not be healthy. I've always been "moderately" healthy, as in I walk at least 10,000 steps a day, and I don't eat tons of junk. I'd like to stick to that, and hopefully improve.

Challenges you’re facing this week? Crazy work week meaning I get home later than usual, and I'm flat out exhausted.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words sarcastic, short, funny, smart, optimistic

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night! I love it!!!!!

  • I love this post!!

Fitness goal? Hit the gym at least 4 days a week.  I've been lifting and doing light cardio with DH. & try to make yoga on Sunday's.

Health goal? Drink lots of water and eat breakfast every day.

Challenges you’re facing this week? I've been SO tired!! & we got a huge snow storm in CO so the gym/icy roads hasn't happened the passed two days.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words

Driven, happy, chatty, strong & planner

  • Wow! Everyone seems so super fit! I just want to make my goal of 6500 stores a day and I will be happy
  • Fitness goal? Continue going to yoga class several times a week, do some light cardio in the form of elliptical or walking the dogs a few times a week.

Health goal? Water!  I have always been bad about forgetting to drink enough water throughout the day.  Fortunately now my body reminds me ... I am parched all the time!  Also, squeeze as many veggies into my meals as I can.

Challenges you’re facing this week?  Fatigue has definitely deterred me from working out, especially after work.  It's been hard to come up with a balance between listening to my body and getting rest when needed, and using my tiredness as an excuse. Also, getting over anxiety.  Before a yoga class last weekend I googled "yoga in the first trimester" and came up with so many limitations I almost didn't go.  But I went and just did a few modifications, and it felt great.

GTKY: Describe yourself in 5 words Compassionate, sensitive, introverted, authentic, goofball

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Do 20 squats before bed every night!

  • @PeggyOlsonFTW I'm glad you loved doing a half. I think it's the best distance to go race-wise. Definitely plan for another, they will get addicting.

  • @OrangeEv I actually signed up for another one right after my first ;) But, it was summer and super hot and I got a surprise BFP and didn't have the energy to keep up with the training, so I dropped it.

  • @SnobunnieMel If you're planning to run with a stroller, definitely get a BOB! Best jogger (and everyday stroller) ever. I love mine. (I'm sure you already knew how awesome BOBs are, but I just had to make sure.)

@PeggyOlsonFTW I am planning on getting a stroller to run with and have no idea what's good so thanks for the BOB recommendation. I'm going to look into them!
  • @PeggyOlsonFTW  did you ever try he graco jogger? I love that it has the travel system so their car seat clicks right in and you can run with a younger infant as well as not needed multiple strollers then

  • I fell off the wagon today..the only thing that sounded remotely good today was mcdonalds fries.. ughhhh.. but, I'm currently bumping from the elliptical.. so there's that.. and I work the next four nights,  so I know I'll do better - I just hate how I feel after falling off..
  • @SnobunnieMel My friend has the Graco jogger. I don't think it handles as well as the BOB. The BOB is well worth the money. You can get a car seat attachment for the BOB so you can have it as your every day stroller, but FWIW, it's not recommended to run with baby in the car seat in any stroller - you really shouldn't run with them until they have really good head/neck control. Like around 6-8 months old or so.
