Sometimes I think it would be cool if our tummies had a little window in it so we can watch the baby grow whenever we want. You know, like watching the cookies bake from outside of the oven. Other times, I realize how bizarre that would be.
My mother-in-law texted me about a week ago and said, "Don't forget to let the baby peek out through your belly button every once in awhile!" It was an odd thing to say, and now my husband keeps asking me if I'm keeping the belly button window open.
Also, babies look super gross until they're all cooked. If I think about what he actually looks like in there for too long, it makes me a little nauseous.
@DominiqueUagreed. I had a 3D/4D ultrasound around 25 weeks (I think, it was 5/30 and DD was born 9/15) and she looked SO CREEPY. I'm not doing that again.
@quartz02 Seriously! I have NEVER seen a 3D ultrasound and thought, "Yeah, that's cute. Let's let that out into the world." I don't want to see him quite that clearly until he's fully cooked.

Too funny. Yeah, I have to confess, even at my 12 week regular, non-3D ultrasound, my baby was doing super cute stuff like flipping around and putting his/her hands in their mouth - but boy, that baby looked super skeletal and I was definitely taken aback! I could see a look of slight horror in H's eyes, but neither of us said anything, haha.

When they turn their faces towards the ultrasound, it's horrifying. Last time, the OB was like "He's looking at us." And then when she saw my face she said, "Yeah... Kind of creepy and gremliny..."
LMAO at the last few comments. I totally thought the baby looked like a skeleton at my NT scan. In fact, my favorite photo the tech gave me is the only one where it doesn't look so bony. I'm hoping baby is fatter by the AS in a few weeks!
We are dealing with our first blizzard here. Trapped at the in laws for two days now. Heading home in the morning where there is supposed to be MORE snow! Drifts are between 4-8'. It's been an experience.
My husband let my dog out at 2am. She was sprayed by a dog and then walked through the house (didn't touch anything, but just walked through). So at 2am we had to give her a tomato bath, then a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, then dog shampoo. She's in her kennel wet and sad because it didn't work 100%. We spent the rest of the night trying to get the smell out of the house. Open windows. Ceiling fans on. Bowls of vinegar sitting around. Sprayed air freshener. Mopped floors 6 times. Clothes soaking in vinegar water. It STILL smells SO badly! It's much better than it was, but it's like a skunk died inside our house. I threw up twice when the smell was super strong. It didn't even smell like skunk! My eyes were watering! Now I'm exhausted and my house smells and I have to take off an hour of work to get my dog to the vet for a bath. Can I just give up and cry?
Ours is their last appointment of the day! DD and I are picking up DH at work and I'm sure that she and I will be sitting in the parking lot waiting more than early to get him. Lol
@rlopezlavalleI am so sorry, that sucks so bad. Similar thing happened to me (while not pregnant) last year. DH didn't notice the dog smelled when he let him back in? WTF? I smelled it before the dog made it in the house, but my yelling didn't stop him. Rocky (dog) managed to rub his face on carpet in one room. Ick. We were living in a 680 sq foot house at the time - no joke. The smell (after baking soda and vinegar 2-3 times and a fan) was much better after 2 days, and the house smell I think was back to normal in a week or two. Unfortunately, Rocky got sprayed in face. The rest of him wasn't TOO bad after a week, but his face was still a bit icky if you really got up in his face for loving or playtime...for like 4 months. After 2 weeks, I couldn't smell it from maybe 4 ft away, but it was bad for a long time any closer. You should get to go home after vet and just cry, if you can take the day off work. But maybe, go cry on a friend or family member's couch, where it smells nicer.

Random thought but does anyone have a maternity pillow? Are they worth buying? Been having some pain in my lower back on and off throughout the day at when trying to sleep.

Yes I have the snoogle it is amazing and you should get one
@RideNRunMomma thanks I wish I could take off work. I'm a high school teacher at a charter school, so even finding someone to fill in for the first half hour of class was difficult this last minute. Good news: I'm working late so I won't have to smell it again until at least 9pm. Bad news: the house will be closed up all day marinating in all that yuck! I will get through this. I've told myself this hundreds of times since last night. Lol
@rlopezlavalleYou will get through it, but it does still suck! I hope the weather cooperates where you're at to let you air out a whole bunch!
@HoneyBear40 I have the Snoogle Mini, DH was trying to compromise on bed space and $$. It's...OK, for now. From what I can tell, it's a nice stopgap for travel, and it works in a pinch, but I think I might end up with the full size too if I can't start getting comfortable!

I have the snoogle too. I love it for lounging but I'm still not used to it sleeping overnight. I end up getting super hot (since its wrapped around me) and it's on the floor by the morning.
Got to listen to LO's heartbeat today and schedule the AS for 3 weeks! Definitely made my day/week. I was bracing myself to not hear a heartbeat this time.
@rlopezlavalle OMG that sounds like one of the circles of hell! Sorry you're dealing with skunk- worst most horrible smell!
@HoneyBear40 YES! I got the Boppy maternity pillow that's sold in store at Target with the regular baby boppys because I decided I needed one NOW that day. Soooooo worth it! Can't recommend it enough especially to help with hip pain.
Well had to go to the dr unexpected today due to some spotting and cramping after I fell last night. I don't think time has ever gone as slow as it is now sitting in this waiting. Be okay little baby !

Ummm no I look amazing and feel incredible. THANKS, THO.
My 3 year old looked at my while I was helping her get dressed this morning and said, "Mommy, I'm having a rough day." LOL! First time I've ever heard her use that expression and hilarious because nothing eventful had happened yet.
Hm, my knee is starting to really bother me. I had hurt this knee several years ago snowboarding when I fell and it had hit a patch of ice. I wasn't able to bend it for a few days while it was healing. My knee had been better but recently it hurts when I walk up and down the stairs or when I bend down to pick something. SHARP pain too.
I really hope this doesn't happen for the rest of the pregnancy because I am only 17 weeks...
Thanks everyone! They found baby's heart beat so baby is okay it seems and the dr believes the bleeding could be caused by a low placenta which they will check again tomorrow at my a/s. Thanks for all the thoughts prayers and kind words everyone so very much appreciated !
