February Nursery Updates

The first nursery board is getting very lengthy- and since we're at the point most of us are working on the nursery more- I think it's time to switch to a monthly thread! 

So here's what we have so far. We're planning on getting 2 more wall decals for the walls without art, and we have a baby mobile holder on the way but it's taking a crazy long time to get here. It's saying it won't be here until March 7th! And that's from Amazon! It's very weird. 
We're leaning towards a decal that says "I'm a leaf on the wind, watch me soar" with an image of the ship Serenity (yay nerds!) 


We're going to have stuffed animals hammocks in this corner- but they are on the registry so we're waiting to do that. 


I rearranged this corner since I wanted more bookshelves and needed a place to put the cube storage things. The stuffed animals will eventually be in hammocks instead of on the shelves. She's starting out life with a lot of them!

    @Jparke2 I feel so behind! I LOVE that color! We were thinking about something similar but that's very close to one of our bathroom colors

    @Jparke2 That color is gorg! We're doing a similar color for an accent wall, and grey for the other 3 walls. We bought the paint yesterday and hope to start painting this week!

    It's a popular color! We are doing coral and yellow as accent colors. We are having a girl this time but figured if the next one is a boy, we can easily adjust the color scheme :)

    @bookelf221  maybe you can use that color as an accent or just an accent wall? I feel your pain, I really wanted to do grey in there somewhere but our living room is painted grey with yellow accents. We have have yellow curtains in the living room too and I'm mad because I think yellow curtains would be pretty in the nursery but two rooms with yellow curtains will bother me!

    That's a thought- but we've got stuff in there now- so I think I'm done painting. That and we've got 2 rooms that are blue now and I feel like I need to stop with the blue. This honestly is the calmest color we've done- I tend to go for loud colors. Like our TV room is orange- not neon orange I promise.  We've got a changing table down there as well so we don't have to walk up and down the stairs every time she needs changing.

    Ooooohhh I love the orange! We want to do a similar color in our basement!

    It's great! Very warm! My husband's face when I told him I wanted to paint the room orange was pretty priceless though!

    This is very smart. We were very stupid. We decided the nursery was going to be the smaller room, and that we'd eventually move baby #1 into the bigger room, and baby #2 would then have the nursery. I guess we never imagined we would have a boy, because we painted the nursery hot pink and light pink. So now, only 2 years later, here we are having to paint it again. I wish we had pick something a little more gender neutral! Oh well, live and learn!

    Its Glidden actually, I can't remember the name. But I looked up yours, its pretty similar! I think mine might be a tad bit greener? Either way, I love them both!

    we got all the wall and ceiling paint up and painted chair rails that we are going to add this weekend. Then my MIL is going to do two murals for us (its her present to the baby since she's not in the best economic spot). We did take an Ikea trip last weekend and hav alllllllllll the furniture now. Phew.

    We have the same rocker and ottoman! Love it!
     @AliciaD39 it's Little Castle brand from Target (or at least we got ours at target.com)

    We have to wait for the carpet to be installed in our basement to move our home office/my scrapbooking room downstairs before we can even begin to put anything together.  It's being installed Feb. 17th, which means the following weekend will be a busy one!

    DH finished the wainscoting in our nursery last night, so we can start assembling furniture this evening. I can't wait!

    We're actually moving at the end of April (perfect timing, I know) so all of Kirras things are scattered throughout the house since there's no point in putting a nursery together right now. It's driving me insane because I'm trying to nest but instead I can only rebox, wash and rearrange things.

    I've got nothing done so far since we won't move into our new house for a few more weeks. I'm going crazy because I just want to decorate! I've changed some of my decor already, but this is what I have so far. The monogram is on its way and I will probably paint it a light pink.

    Wow! I Feel so behind! Some of you have such beautiful rooms already. We just started redoing the floor in our little girls room so it won't be until the end of the month when I can actually start decorating and it's driving me crazy! But this gives lots of great ideas!

    I LOVE THOSE PRINTS! Where did you get them!? I've been thinking about ordering these ones, but I need a third that matches or ties them all together or something since they really don't go together great. Or maybe put one on one wall and two on another. Regardless, I don't know what to do and your prints are TOO CUTE!

    @Jparke2Try Etsy for the prints! That's where I got mine- they were all super cheap ($1-$4) and printable. They email you the high graphic quality image and you get them printed- I used Walgreens. Super easy and the selection is huge!

    @Jparke2 I actually bought those at a small Amish shop. I'm sure you can find these prints online though!

    @anng23 Etsy is actually where I found the prints i'll probably end up buying! Its exactly like you said, you download them and print them! I'll probably get them printed through a professional printer I use for lots of different things just so they are a nice quality. Don't you love etsy!?

    @hellogoodbye2 gotcha, I might have to search for those!

    @anng23 your room looks so pretty! We have done exactly the same thing with the gold polka dot decals and love them! Waiting to hang some more stuff on the walls before I post pictures!
