@Emztron500 my coworker just got that same virus and it took an IT guy over a week to recover most of her files. It was a doozy
i don't really have a bad twatwaffle, but two have come to mind - (1) this baby, who seems to have found my ribs today and is swinging away as I try to work at my desk. (2) a friend had her baby yesterday and someone posted on her mom's Facebook, tagging her, saying "congrats on the new baby GIRL. Love her name, can't wait to see pictures". First, you completely stole the mother/father's right to announce the birth of their child. Second, they were team green, so you totally blew the surprise we were all excited to hear. I was so irritated on her behalf. Why do people feel the need to post things completely unrelated to them on Facebook??
If my notoriously-bad-at-this SIL does this to us, I will lose.my.mind

I will literally freak the fuck out if anybody does this to us. Not your kid, not your news until mom and dad have announced.
Mine is a student: he's a kindergartener with developmental delay, sweet kiddo but OFF THE CHAIN! He's always running around the room, talks non-stop, refuses to work, and can't sit still. He comes to my room for 2 hours a day and then I go to his room for about 45 minutes.
This is normal! I am used to this behavior! No problem here!
What I am not used to is when he is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for an entire hour, and then is back to his horrible behavior the rest of the day. Before, my understanding was that this kid could not behave and was so hyperactive that he couldn't sit still. Now, I've seen him sit still, attend to a task, and walk SILENTLY in the hallway . . . . rude hahaha. Weird complaint, I know, but it's so frustrating to know that he actually can follow directions and that he is choosing not to 99% of the time.
I was going to award this to SIL who arrived last night and appears to have no other plans than to sit around my house for the next two months and complicate my life. But my husband just stole the prize from her by calling me back from a baby shower 20 minutes after I left the house
omg my day got so much worse. Went and took DD to her dayhome, then came home to find every file on my laptop has been replaced by basically a ransom note saying I need to send some asshole $500 to get my files decrypted. been spending my whole day trying to figure out how to get rid of the virus and get them back without sending a dime to these shitheads (with no luck). I am so upset right now...I literally JUST cleaned off all the photos from my phone and I think I've now lost pretty much every photo I have of my daughter that isn't on Facebook.
What!!!? I didn't even know that was possible!! can you call the police or something?? This sounds criminal no? I am so sorry-that is AWFUL!

Well I missed the thread. I'm so sorry to hear the crap everyone is going through, I totally would have given in to the hormones and people would have been damaged..
Not a big one, but my twatwaffle is my dog. I just got new comfy undies in last week and he ate them! All of them! We are on a super tight budget and I felt bad paying as much as I did for them. Now I have like 3 pair that fit and with Niagara Falls taking up residence in my vagina, they aren't going to cut it. Ugh.
@crdo@CourtJack it is most definitely criminal but these guys are too smart to be caught. All they've provided for payment is an untraceable BitCoin wallet number. Thankfully DH is an IT expert. He helped me clear off the infection and figure out what it was, and found a bunch of info online. I'm going to have to completely wipe my computer since all my startup/boot files are encrypted and right now I can only even boot it in safe mode, but he did find a way to recover individual files. Going to spend my morning transferring all my work and photos to an external drive (I am an idiot and should've already had them backed up...sigh).
On the plus side, while he was working on my computer all night so I couldn't just sit on my ass switching between TheBump and Facebook, I did a lot of work on my kitchen reno!
