Week of 2/1 Randoms

Uh guys... It's our birth month! It's finally here!! I've loved seeing all the babies and reading the stories (with the tiniest bit of jealousy TBH). So with all of our to-do lists and racing thoughts as we finish prepping for our precious little ones, just put whatever you want here.

Re: Week of 2/1 Randoms

  • It really pisses me off when people talk over me. Don't ask me a question and then keep talking when I'm trying to answer you. The only thing that does is prevent you from having the information you need because I already know the answer. It's going to be a long day.

  • It's a snow day here and my last OB appointment before baby. I really don't want to drag my kids to my appointment but I know I can't miss this one I'm supposed to sign my pre-op papers. Oh what a winter wonderland day!!
  • It snowed over the weekend and DH drove us around in his car. So mine was left with snow on it. It thawed a little yesterday and then froze. DH and I went out to move cars this morning so I could leave and my front and back windows were frozen over. I just started bawling. He told me just to get in the car but I snapped and said they both had to get done and I was late. I feel bad because I didn't even kiss him goodbye!

Then I get to work and everyone is all... you're still here! Or... you're still pregnant! No f-ing shit Sherlock!!

I can't even fake happy and nice today!!
  • I had a false alarm...thought my water broke last night...not a gush, just some steady trickling throughout the night after experiencing some nausea.  I didn't have any contractions, though, so I assumed it could be a false alarm.  I had an unexpected appointment this morning with my OB and everything is still intact, and I've been 3cm dilated for a week.  I debated going into work after my appointment, but I would only have been there in time to teach one class, so I just took off for the whole day.  Wasted a day of leave, hooray!  But, on the plus side, it's my birthday and I didn't have to deal with middle school drama today!  I'm due this coming Sunday, 2/7, so I'm hoping the next time I feel something, it's the real thing.  I'm glad baby gets to cook a little longer, though :)

Happy Birthday! Do some things to pamper yourself!

Getting kind of nervous and scared and anxious. I've had preeclampsia both my previous pregnancies and had to have CS. DS1 was born at 32wks and DS2 at 37wks so my body has never labored on its own. Plus the previous pregnancies I already had pre e by this time already. Now i'm 36.2 and no high bp not once yet but contractions like crazy and a lot of low pressure. Things I never experienced before so it almost feels like a FTM experience. I have my rcs scheduled for 39 weeks but doc says I probably won't make it that far so i'm just freaking out about the fear of the unknown

*Edit to wish @sarame500 Happy Birthday!

I feel sooooo blah today! I swear I got no sleep last night (ok, probably dozed in and out but I feel like I remember being awake the whole time) partly because I took a nap in the afternoon but moreso because I just could not shut my mind off and could not get comfortable. On top of which I think I'm getting a cold. The whole not being able to breathe properly thing also kept me up and I'm getting a sore throat from the stupid post nasal drip. And a headache from the congestion. Pleeeeease be over before I go into labor!!!

Also, I'm getting annoyed with people who say to me "you haven't even dropped yet!" Actually, I've dropped a TON! But thanks for putting your two cents in. Excuse me while I waddle around my pelvis since my baby's head is taking up all the room in it. I'm a little extra cranky in part because I was pretty sure I'd go early since both my sister and I were early babies (2 weeks and 3 weeks respectively) but now it's only 3 days until my EDD . . . I'm dreading going over even though I know it's only an estimation and not the end of the world. The whole "I'm done with being pregnant already" bug hit me on Friday and it's staying strong!

ETA: Also, my skin is sooooooooooooooooo itchy!!! Especially where I'm getting stretch marks :(
  • @paytonpedro I know right??? There's some people I don't mind that sort of comment from, especially if I can tell that they mean it in a good way (if that makes sense) but then there's others who I'm not as close with that I'm just like . . . shut up (not that I say that to them . . . maybe I should lol)
  • I've hardly been sleeping the past few nights because every night for the past week or so I keep getting period like cramps and painful contractions that don't progress and eventually go away after a few hours. I keep loosing pieces of my MP and now every little twinge makes me freak out and wonder if this is it. It's so uncomfortable and annoying. But I won't be 37 weeks till Thursday..so I'm guessing it's just prodromal labor and hopefully the little guy sits tight for another few weeks.

    Happy Birthday!!! @sarame500

  • They make signs that say don't touch.
I need this apparently! Thanks. I just figured you know, common sense. You're coughing and sneezing. Stay away.
  • @Kimbarbour08 Right after I typed that I went to a friends house and both her and her husband were like "You're never having that baby, he hasn't even dropped yet!" I was like really!? Haha.
  • @g0lightly8706, I remember a guy started telling me a horror labor story, why do people need to share details like this?!? I told him to excuse me, I was starting to get dizzy and had to sit down. Shut him up right away!

oh that's awful! and from a guy? not cool! glad he got the point though that it's just something we don't need details on.
it's amazing what random strangers deem appropriate when pregnancy is involved. i've learned so much about human behavior these past 9 months..

  • Why the warnings against castor oil? It is awful??
  • Current irritation is my body having a freaking meltdown over the past 36 hours. *TMI alert* I've had diarrhea 6 times since yesterday morning and I'm kind of over it. I'm not even sick because I have no other symptoms. I'm hoping it's a sign of early labor because I'd love to get this show on the road!
  • I've been in active labor for over 48 hours... Contractions are 4 minutes apart and the hospital refuses to admit me until I dialate more (only 3 cm) I feel like I may end up having this baby on my floor because now I have no idea when to go back. The nurse said if my water breaks or the contractions are unbearable but not everyone's water breaks on its own and I feel discouraged if I go in and it's still not time yet :( ugh so annoying
  • Why the warnings against castor oil? It is awful??
I was also wondering about this. Is this one of the old timers tricks that is now a no-no? Or is it just that nasty?

It can make the baby poo while still in the womb and that's super dangerous plus it can make you super dehydrated which is also dangerous... This is what my ob just told me
  • @MississippiCatfish haha I'd be like I'll take it!
  • I tried borscht for the first time tonight and I gotta say it was not bad! Plus My friend brought it over and did the dishes so I really can't complain :)
  • @TalulaPants yes! Seriously girls after a CS its the worse. I can still feel the phantom pain from my experience after DS was born
  • @BabySeaTurtles @charliegoldengirl It can also make you poop...a lot. And give you diarrhea cramps.  :/

  • I'm due on the 14th and when I tell people this, they're like "Aww. A Valentine's baby!" I'm not a huge fan of the day.  :|

I've been 1-2 centimeters dilated and 40% effaced for almost a week now, and have been having contractions on and off for weeks. This isn't my first child, but this pregnancy has been so different compared to my previous ones. I've never really experienced prodromal labor, and omg, it is emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting.

I'm with you on the hating Valentines Day. I'm also due on that day, and I hope it sticks because it has kind of become "his day" wishes for a quick labor for you!!!
  • I'm a little annoyed that we can't talk to anyone anymore without them being blatantly disappointed that LO isn't here yet. DH and I live a few states away from our families, and every time we call (which is normally a few times a week) we don't get a "hello" anymore, it's "is it time?! Is she here?!" I get they're excited for her to arrive.. So are we, but we still have other stuff we can talk about.

That is annoying:/  Don't they know that it's kind of your problem?  I would imagine baby not coming doesn't affect them quite like it does you...
