Make it a specific kind of gif party (cat gifs, snow gifs, giraffe gifs, etc)

  • okay. Have you ladies heard Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind"? Even if you don't like country go freaking listen to it. I've been listening to it for about a week and every time I look at DD I think "child, if you learn nothing else from me...this"

Figured we didn't have a bitchfest yet so went with that.

My random is that our anatomy scan is Thursday! Woot woot
Is it time for those already? Time is flying!

  • Thank you!  I much prefer weekly!!!
  • Morning/afternoon everyone! Got back from my doctors appointment this morning (which she didn't say anything offensive or bitchy! Yay considering past experiences) I also found out I don't get tranfered to my delivering doctor/OB until end of April! That's nuts I will hardly know them and then *yay everyone look at my vajayjay while I push out a kid* anyone else not seeing their delivering doctor until that late? It seems weird to me...

My OB practice is on a rotation. I see a different OB each time I go for a visit and in general, the one I see at the end is the one who will deliver. Now that I know them all, it doesn't seem so mysterious. I was lucky with my firstborn in that the last OB I saw ended up being my favorite and she delivered him.

  • @Puddles03 We just get the on call doctors where I am. So even though I saw the same OB for all my prenatal care, my son was delivered by the on call OB and a resident that I had only met about an hour earlier. Plus, what they say is true - once it's really time to deliver that baby you could care less who is looking between your legs.

My random is a blessing/curse. I weighed a bit less when I got pregnant this time than my first. I'm showing later and I'm smaller (yay!). Bad part is pretty well none of my maternity clothes from my first pregnancy fit. They are all falling off me and baggy and frumpy looking. I spent a small fortune the first time around on a work wardrobe and I really wasn't planning on doing that again. Consignment around here is slim pickings. I will have no choice but to break down and buy new stuff (boo!). I only have two pairs of work pants left that are workable so time is running out.
  • Has anyone ever had placenta previa ? I'm just curious to see if you had to have a c section or not. I was reading about it in my mayo
book and know with an anterior placenta I'm at risk for it a bit more

  • No experience @Lindsayleigh1989 but I had an anterior last time and a full anterior this time, I know they don't diagnose until about the 18-20 week AS but it doesn't mean it won't move up, they monitor you more closely but there is actually a good chance it will move if you get one. I was thinking about this the other day too.

I know that my ob's are on rotation as well and I had six last time and it wasn't even one of them that showed up to deliver DD, actually a nurse delivered as it happened so quickly. I was just concerned as how late I start seeing them I feel that if I become higher risk are they still able to transfer me that late in the game?. I just know my family doctor just doesn't seem to know anything about pregnancy/what is to be done when as she doesn't see many of any pregnant women. I am worried sow thing will be missed, I know it probably all in my head but I just feel stressed over the little stuff.  Thanks for listening/reading
  • @stellaluna14 yes! Tylenol does nothing!!!

  • @Lindsayleigh1989 I had a complete previa for ds which means it completely covered my cervix. Was diagnosed at my a/s at 18 weeks.  I had monthly us to check on it and magically it had resolved and moved up by 32 weeks but it was still considered low until almost 35 weeks.  If the previa had stayed I would have had a c section at 37 weeks. I never had any bleeding throughout my pregnancy luckily. I was on pelvic rest for a very long time, no sex, no heavy lifting, no excercise besides walking.

I was not high risk for a week then developed cholestasis of pregnancy so had to be induced at 36 weeks! Blahhhh my body really hated being pregnant w ds! Really have my fingers crossed that this time will be better!!!!
  • @foxa319 I liked for sharing your experience not because you were on bedrest or because of the cholestasis. That's good to know thanks!

I had this with my 1st. They had me come in for some extra ultrasounds, and like PP, by about 34 weeks it had moved up on its own.

I had placenta previa with my first. I had monthly ultrasounds until week 35 and then they were weekly. My placenta moved up but the very edge of remained very close to my cervix. I was never put on any kind of rest but was warned to go to the hospital with any kind of bleeding. Two days before my due date I was in the early stages of labor and I started to bleed. I went to the hospital, they determined that it would be safe to try vaginal delivery, gave me a small amount of pitocin and I delivered DS 2 hours later. So if they notice it is low at your A/S they will monitor you more closely until it resolves or until it's decision time for delivery.

Sometimes I think it would be cool if our tummies had a little window in it so we can watch the baby grow whenever we want. You know, like watching the cookies bake from outside of the oven. Other times, I realize how bizarre that would be.

It'd be creepy. The Bodies exhibit was in town when I was pregnant with my first. I considered going because they have fetuses at various stages of development. But then I gave birth at 27 weeks and decided it would be too wierd. I watched her develop through that little plastic box instead. And learned that apparently babies born that early don't have nipples...

I had a dream that I was having another girl and sure enough, a few days later, the blood test confirmed it was indeed another girl! So just maybe...!
  • @MotherOfDucks wow how heart wrenching that must have been

@elenabrent  hahaha so true, no more cookie gifs
  • I almost passed out in my kitchen today, good thing SIL was over! We were talking and all the sudden my head started hurting, I got really really hot and the room got blurry. She helped me to the couch and got me some water. I was fine after 10 minutes but still it was really scary.

Someone is eating Papa Johns in the near vicinity of my office and now the Jimmy John's sandwich I was getting excited for doesn't sound nearly as appetizing. I've eaten pizza the past two nights for dinner, but I'm a sucker for cheese, sauce and bread.
  • @Shelby00519 I have really bad dizzy/hot flashes as well. I get one on and off every morning around 7:30-8:30. Then I get at least one more some other random time of day. They ebb and flow but go away faster if I can take off my shirt and lay down... I'm a teacher so that can't happen at work, obviously, which is why it lingers a bit. Just try to sit down as soon as you notice it and keep drinking plenty of water.
  • Also here's my rant. I'm so sad and pissed off. I recently ended all ties with my dad and best friend. That was hard enough but necessary. My mom, whom I am not super close with by still she's mom, is moving to Indiana this week to be near my sister. She will be able to come and visit a lot and so I'm not that upset that. BUT now I have learned that one of my aunts that I'm very close with is getting divorced and will be moving to Idaho this summer. AND my other aunt and uncle that I'm the closest to have decided to retire early and move to Arizona. Like this year. Now my only family in the area is my brother-in-law (whom I love) and his weird fiancé. I also am not a big friend collector, so I just have 2 other friends that I talk to and spend any time with. I feel like all this is happening all at once, leaving me alone. I know the world doesn't revolve around me, but this is not what I pictured when finally having my first child. I guess I'll do some mommy and me things when baby comes to meet new friends with similar lives/ priorities. Thank god my husband is amazing.  :'(
