So I searched for a topic on this but didn't come up with much as to recommendations from experience so I thought I would try. My LO is currently 20 weeks and still in the RnP..which he LOVES and we just finally are back to sleeping longer (had regression...think we are passed it now... KOCK ON WOOD)...still not back to 8 hours but working our way at 6. (also after being gifted a fisher price giraffe soother... best gift ever). So I regress... we have noticed that when he sleeps the RnP is awesome and he loves it...but the minute he wakes up he is so long he is kicking himself up and I can see it now sometime soon he will push himself right out of it. So it has come to that point where we need to take him out of it and into the bassinet we have (because I am a baby myself and don't want to go to crib just yet). Has anyone done the transition from RNP to crib/bassinet? Are there any tricks you found worked for your LO that are worth a try? Cold turkey? We currently LOOSELY swaddle with one arm out and legs outs for sleep (its his cue for bed/nap)...should we go to sleep sack instead now with the bassinet/crib with arms out? Any advice would be great! Thinking we will start on a Friday so if we don't sleep I wont be a zombie for work.
Re: Transitioning from RnP to Bassinet/Crib
We did the transition slowly and had no problems with it
Did you start with just naps... then move to nights after she was comfortable for those? Or just begin with Naps during the day and that same night place her in there for bedtime too?
Thanks for the blocks / towel recommendation... that's a great idea. My LO also has reflux so I am going to try the angle trick.

My LO is 19 weeks and is still sleeping in RnP. She just got over RSV so I have been wanting her right next to me. We have tried putting her in her crib here and there for naps and there has been once or twice that she actually slept in it for maybe an hour total. Otherwise once we lay her down she starts to kick and wakes right up. We have a noise machine that's on so its not so quite. We are going to continue to lay her down in her crib but it never fails, she wakes right up. Does it get better? Any suggestions???
She did fine. But she's also been sleeping through the night from 7:30 pm to 6:00 am since she was 10 weeks old, so she's a good sleeper. She knows how to go down drowsy but awake and soothe herself to sleep. If she wakes, she puts herself back to sleep... So we've been really lucky! Good luck!
Good call on starting over the weekend though! I hate to mess too much with a good thing so I avoid practicing during our afternoon nap since its the longest one, or at the beginning of the week when I typically appreciate my sleep a bit more. At least on the weekends DH is home so I have the option of sleeping in or taking a nap if I've been up all night.
LO just turned 16 weeks and we are also transitioning from RnP to Pack n Play and are really struggling, as she hates being flat on her back. If she is asleep and I try putting her down in it, she will immediately wake up. But if I lay her on her side first, she will sleep until she rolls on her back and

Did anyone go from rnp swaddle to crib/Merlin suit? I'm wondering if we should drop everything at the same time. Also what did you all do when they woke up? Cry it out? Go in and soothe?
All of these stories are wonderful
I never felt comfortable with anything else in the crib so we just used a towel under the mattress to create a slight incline.
CIO isn't recommended until at least 6 months. I always go in and soothe DS2 if he fusses or wakes, I did the same for DS1. They figure it out eventually. Start on a weekend when you can get some help.
