Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Itchy skin, chapped lips, back pain. Hubby says boobs are bigger and he likes them. Lol. Typical man.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Our nursery is going to be elephant theme so I purchased peel and stick "wallpaper" with baby elephants and plan to put it up today on one wall (we painted last week). Let's hope it turns out well (I'm a little OCD) because it was too expensive to mess it up! Haha. I also started yoga to help with my back.
Questions? Anyone else occasionally feeling pressure in your lady parts?? It's a strange feeling.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Work, work, work. Bummer.
@BakerBird525 Yes, the dog just suddenly started waking up. I think that one night she got up to go outside and then got a treat, and she decided it was fun to get treats during the night (she LOVES food). We asked the vet at an appt of she had a UTI or anything else that would be making her get up, but everything looked good.
I feel like I've already missed so much info when I read these check-ins every day. I'm in the mountain time zone and wake up wayyy too late apparently. Ugh.
@DeePaddy24@ahernanez16 YAY for little boys!!! That's what I'm having too and I'm super pumped.
How far along are you? 21w4d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: I made cookies yesterday. Was too lazy to go to the website on the bag to look at the high altitude instructions (I live at 7800 ft) and they turned out all flat. and I still ate WAY too many of them and feel like a tub of lard this morning. Oh well. Rave: I get to have lunch with my friend and her little 7 mo old girl today. It always feels like I'm looking into my future when I go to lunch with them. Symptoms: just some baby kicks and lots of sniffles.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? My H is in environmental engineering/environmental law and obsessed with toxicology, so he's been begging me for months to get our water tested. Went and picked up the test bottles yesterday and have to fill them this morning to take them back to the place for testing. I guess it is necessary but its $250!! Ugh.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Literally nothing of note. I have been a lazy bum for the last few weekends. Probably cleaning, maybe going for a hike nearby if it isnt too cold.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rave: I only woke up once last night. So I'm actually feeling pretty good today. We had a second a/s today and the tech said she was able to get the additional pictures the doctor wanted. Our little guy was moving around a lot.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I want to go to BRU and Target to work on the registries. I did most of them online but it feels like finding anything Target actually has in the store is hard.
Questions? STM did you like the halo sleepsack or summer infant swaddle better? I'm leaning towards the halo sleepsacks
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Since we had the blizzard last weekend I felt like I just sat around so this weekend I want to go to the mall(have not been out since we found out the baby is a boy), BRU and Target.
First of all, a perk of being home for a mental health day is that I actually get to participate in these! You ladies are good company
@mrsschmity - congrats on the extra cleavage have fun, flaunt them a bit for sure!
@Kballew10 - Have fun at Motherhood! I got a gift certificate there for Christmas and shopping there was the best! Everything is so very comfy I hope you find some deals!
@MrsB8214 - Don't be nervous People have exciting, positive ultrasounds multiple times a day!!
@DeePaddy24 - congrats on a little man! How exciting! I'd love to hear your nursery ideas for a boy! Have fun with your reveal!
@ahernandez16 - That's frustrating the tech didn't say more, but congrats on the boy!! I hope you hear from the doc soon to confirm that all is well! Also, congrats on the new car!
@samsonator yea! I don't have to screw with everything I bake, but a lot of the prepackaged stuff (like brownie mix) or chocolate chip cookie recipes I have to mess with. Last time I made brownie mix from a box, I had to add an extra 1/4 cup flour and a couple tbsp of water or something like that. Cakes just like to sink in the middle, it is super annoying. Fudge is the hardest, or anything that requires a candy thermometer because the boiling temperature is lower than at sea level.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Disgusting amounts of cm started this week... I feel so gross. I remember that happening with DS, but I don't remember it starting so early.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Trying to pick out a color scheme, decorations, and bedding for the nursery. Keeping the majority of the furniture that's already there but will be trying to personalize it a little bit for this baby.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Leaving for our babymoon tomorrow! We will be away for a week, and our parents are splitting the time and watching DS while we're away. I'm so excited to sleep past 6am.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: Sleeping sucks. I'm not comfortable in any one position for a long time so I wake up a lot now when I used to not wake up at all during the night! Also, my boobs are *finally* definitely bigger and this leads me to two rants. 1) I do not have one single bra that fits me and is comfortable. 2) They look awesome and I'm not even allowed to get laid (doctor said no hanky panky) Rave: Went to Winners last night and bought some baby stuff. They have great deals! I got some Tommee Tippee bottles (a starter set) and Aden + Anais bibs. Normally they'd be a splurge but the prices were actually good. Way cheaper than BRU. Also, I am on bed rest and it was my one short outing for the evening so I bought them because fuck it! Symptoms: Lots more pressure, and yes, weird vagina pain. Super annoying! Can't tell what's normal pregnancy discomfort versus something related to my short cervix/risk of pre-term labour. So I constantly cycle between boredom and panic all day. When I feel anything, even movement, too strongly this is me:
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Thinking that this afternoon I might try and organize some stuff in the spare room so that we can empty out the non-baby-related things from the baby's room. At a leisurely pace and while mostly horizontal, of course.
Questions? Anyone else feel that their circulation sucks these days? I have cold feet and hands and I can't even sit cross-legged without my feet going numb!
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans?
Hopefully buy a friggin bra! Friends coming over for dinner tonight but no other things planned. DH has been working A LOT so it'll be nice to actually have 2 days to ourselves. Also, now I want a milkshake!
@chelseay416 - Feel free to send me any flat cookies and try another batch. In AZ, we had to do that too (we were only at 3200), but since it was on the border of most "high altitude" recipes, I never changed anything and just lived with less than stellar results if it didn't work out. They still taste good!
@candicek15 - Sounds like you are making the most of your brief adventures out of bed! I also have no bras that fit. If you find good ones that aren't expensive, tell me where you get them! I'm afraid to buy nice ones in case these babies keep growing, but holy lord, do I need them!
@candicek15 my circulation has sucked too, normally I have low blood pressure but my hands fall asleep if if they're above my heart for too long (ie doing something on my phone while laying down) and my feet have the same issue. Yay pregnancy?
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: woke up much like other PPs and feel huge. Unlike @mrsschmity and @candicek15 and @laurendiaz02 my boobs aren't any bigger, which is really probably more of a rave, since I'm already a DD. So enjoy them ladies!!!! (And hubs) Rave: IT'S FRIIIIIIIIDAY!!!!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Next weekend, my cousin is painting the nursery, so we have to get everything out of the room before then.
Questions? I just want all the ladies who have had test results or scans come back with nerve wracking results to know that I think about and pray for you daily. I don't ever want to take any of this for granted and want you all to know that this group has helped me through my HG days and I've really grown to love coming to this app to hear from you all! And now I'm done being emotional.... For now
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Clear out the room and get ready for paint!
@mrsschmity my hubs and I are having a milkshake date tomorrow- mmmm... enjoy yours!
@MrsB8214 best wishes with your upcoming AS
@Emztron500 I feel your pain. My toddler has not been puking (that's a whole other level- poor you) but she hasn't been sleeping well to say the least. I can't sleep on her floor if she asks me to like I used to give in and do on bad sleep nights cause I just get too uncomfortable... so tired.
@DeePaddy24 yay for boys! I'm still kind of in shock too. @adiaz132003 your poor sinuses! For me, mine wound up infected (a lot of pain in my cheeks/jaw was an indicator) and antibiotics finally helped me but NOTHING else worked.
How far along are you? 18w6d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Nausea is still at bay... have I finally turned a corner? Rant: TIRED (also, the first time I posted this, it was really wonky- hope I can get it to not be) Rave: WEEKEND! Also, my endocrinology appt was interesting. We still need to get my thyroid down a bit, but the doctor explained the connection between my thyroid issues and my constantly feeling too cold issues.
Funny story: I am wearing fairly unprofessional clothes today cause it's a PD day and I was just tucking into my lunch when I got pulled down to the gym to randomly promote my school to potential Mexican students via a video. Ha! I feel like I'm a pretty funny ambassador for a posh private school right now in my shaggy old sweater with my big ol bump protruding.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans?
Gonna go to my mom's house a couple of hours away. She's babysitting tomorrow so that my hubs and I can go out for dinner and dessert, which is definitely the highlight of the visit for me. Her dog and my dog are best buds (both big shaggy sweethearts) so a good time will be had by all.
@Kballew10 we're going to Hawaii, after this blizzard I'm so ready for sun (although it's been warm-ish the last couple days). DH has a corporate/networking trip that will take up one or two evenings, but most of the time will be ours. I couldn't let him go on this trip alone!
@newbabymakes4 - I'm super jealous. Enjoy it! And I agree... it would have been very mean of you to make him take this trip by himself. Good thing you are generous and offered to be his traveling buddy!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Didn't sleep great last night - my hips get so sore. I have a dr appt later so we'll see how my cervix and the babies are doing.
I'm also having a boy - well 3 of them. So someone must be having a girl!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Dresser and nightstand are painted! Need to reassemble and do touch ups. Next up is my string art project.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Having ILs over for MILs birthday and trying new recipes so a little nervous. Not too much planned otherwise. Should be nice out so might take DS out to play!
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rave: my daily headaches are finally coming to an end. Thank god! They were killing me.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Going through Ds clothes to get out what is gender neutral. Going to buy buy baby to get our double stroller while we have a coupon.
Questions? None
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Ds has his first preschool basketball game on Saturday. Can't wait to get to see him play. Then taking him to Monster jam that night. Then just church and relaxing the rest of the weekend.
Not sure when the last time the due date spreadsheet was updated, but according to that the boy/girl ratio is pretty even right now! So for those of us on team green...it's still 50/50 Not that it wasn't 50/50 before lol
Feeling awesome! 2nd trimester is where it's at. However, this morning my 4 year old shouted down the stairs "i tried to flush the toilet 5 times and now it's spilling yucky water all over the floor"...so that was fun to deal with....
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Purging the closets and getting rid of junk! Doing the KonMari method and loving how my life is feeling so much lighter each time we finish a step. Also bonding with baby boy when I feel those sweet little kicks.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans?
Target run with some friends to pick up baby shower gifts for a gal who just moved into our community. She's having a girl, so I'm excited to pick out some fun girl items. Then the baby shower. Then the beach!
@NicknShan we painted ours! Are you planning to paint them on the wall? Or take them down, paint, re-attach?
We left most of ours on the wall. We taped off the wall at the top and the hardwood underneath. We used a product called Flotrol that delays drying of paint to minimize brush strokes. You mix it in with the paint. In areas where we had carpet (bedrooms) we used a plastic tool we got at Home Depot that wedged under the baseboard and protected the carpet. Worked like a charm!
There's also the option to take all the boards down and use a sprayer, then re-attach with a nail gun. You then have to fill the nail holes with a filler and touch up the paint. Usually this method gives a more crisp finished product.
For wood baseboards I have to recommend priming them first. You'll be glad you did!
@alohasoprano I will be leaving trim on the wall, and the room I am starting with is carpeted. Ugh. I am only re painting one of the walls (the accent wall) so the rest will have to be taped. I am pretty meticulous with my painting, so I hope this goes well...
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Moving around furniture, cleaning and starting to really work on our registry
Questions? nothing
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? No set plans for this weekend, just kinda going with the flow. Probably discuss baby shower plans with my sister at some point.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Had doctor appointment this morning everything looks good! Her heart rate was 150s and we are registering this weekend !
Questions? How many ladies are registering for an infant car seat or convertible or both?
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Traveling this weekend up to my parents house in Delaware about 7 hours! Ready to see some snow!
Questions? How many ladies are registering for an infant car seat or convertible or both?
I just get the infant car seat for now. You don't want the convertible too soon as they expire after a certain time frame so you'll get less use out of it.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
@NicknShan I forgot to mention earlier - I've painted every single baseboard in my house (UGH) and I agree with the recommendation of semi-gloss with primer, taping the walls (and then use a knife when you peel it off to break the seal between the paint and the tape). For the rooms that had carpeting, I got some plastic sheets (thicker than dollar store drop sheets) and pushed it under the baseboard and over the carpet and then used a knife again to break the seal between the paint and plastic and pulled them out. Hope that helps!
@Jerseygirl9090 I'm just registering for the infant seat for now
How far along are you? 19 weeks and 2 days
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant - while I'm enjoying some boobie growth, I was hoping for something much more impressive.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finishing an old dresser that will be repurposed for a changing table/dresser. Have a daycare tour scheduled for next weekend
Questions? none
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Reviewing our estimate for our home renovations and finally singing the contract. Nothing super major but we are removing all the 70's decor (square recessed lighting, ugly stone around fireplace, wall & ceiling texture) and updating our look including a new paint palette. It'll be nice as we've been in the house for 3.5 years with barely any furniture while we saved for this renovation. Once we get done with the renos we can finally furnish our family room and living room.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant - not pregnancy related, but my 2.5 yo DD is being so mean to me lately. She's been such a daddy's girl for the last few weeks, and today she actually made me cry. Just had a moment when I realized she'd actually prefer if I just disappeared and lost it. Oh, cruel cruel toddler Rave - got the results from our fetal echocardiogram and everything is normal with baby's heart! My anatomy scan showed there may be issues with some of the major blood vessels but the cardiologist gave us an all clear!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Absolutely nothing. We need to do a major renovation before I can start the nursery, and that doesn't happen until April. So no prep for me until then. Luckily we already have most of what we need from DD
Questions? None - except to say I'm amazed at all you ladies who can respond back to individual posts. I lose track of who said what the minute I scroll past. I love getting to know you guys, but honestly sometimes I have trouble keeping it straight.
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Sticking close to home with no big plans. DD has a play date and a hair cut.
Questions? None - except to say I'm amazed at all you ladies who can respond back to individual posts. I lose track of who said what the minute I scroll past. I love getting to know you guys, but honestly sometimes I have trouble keeping it straight.
I know the feeling! If I get to a thread late in the day and there's a lot of responses already, but I really want to comment to a few people, I'll take notes on a pad of paper so I can remember what I wanted to say to whom. Then I feel like a huge geek.
Rant 2: drinking any amount of liquid close to bedtime ensures that I will be peeing every 2 hours all night long. And sometimes a girl just wants a nice cup of tea before bed. ONE measly cup...it really seems like I pee out more liquid than I take in. How can that be?
Rave: NBR, but I went to an modern art exhibit today with my family, and my 3yo was so incredibly good the whole time! She was cute, too--she'd see something she liked and would whisper to me, "I want to show this to Cappa" (that's what she calls my dad), and then she'd go find him and say, "Cappa, come see this really amazing thing!" I was so proud of her.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing, really.
Questions? No
GTKY: I feel like I'll ask the same question every Friday....what are your weekend plans? Tomorrow H will work on the car, and I'm thinking about asking my mom to babysit for a couple of hours so I can be a slug on the couch and watch Netflix for awhile. Then we have church on Saturday night, and Sunday we are having dinner with my in-laws at House of India, my favorite Indian restaurant. Mmm...I'm salivating just thinking about it. But I'll be popping a preemptive Zantac that night for sure.

Oh my goodness, I've done that. Then I embarrassed myself by overthinking it and ended up not posting at all. Thanks for making me feel like at least I'm not the only geek!

Rant/Rave/Symptoms?
You'll be glad you did!
good luck!

Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

Rant/Rave/Symptoms?
Oh, cruel cruel toddler
Rave - got the results from our fetal echocardiogram and everything is normal with baby's heart!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms?
Rant 1: heartburn right now!
