Rants/raves/symptoms: It's getting harder to get comfortable because of back pain, and the heartburn & acid reflux has gotten worse, but honestly the most annoying stuff is because of the cold I have, and my DR oked medicine for me, but it made me feel worse so I won't take anymore. I'm also a little nervous because my OB is also pregnant and I think is only a couple weeks behind me, hopefully her baby waits until mine comes!
Upcoming appointments: I had one yesterday, they found her heartbeat immediately. Next actual appointment isn't until the end of Feb, and then I start going every 2 weeks. But towards the end of next week I have to go take my glucose test.
Questions for the group: If you are taking any classes which ones are you taking and when? My hubby and I are skipping the childbirthing class- we've had multiple people tell us it's not worth it here- but we're going to do a tour of the labor and delivery ward, going to do an infant CPR class and I'm going to take a breastfeeding class. I'm thinking we're going to do all of this in March when the threat of snow has passed usually for VA.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? (Shamelessly stolen from M/T) HA the other night I dreamed that Sam and Dean (from Supernatural) were competing on Chopped Junior with a bunch of kids and Sean (from Pysch) was a judge who wouldn't stop talking about the amazingness of pineapples (I agree with him) - but it annoyed Dean to the point that Dean wanted to shoot him. I don't know if that's really a pregnancy dream, or just a sign that my hubby and I watch too much TV.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Acid reflux is rearing it's ugly head at night now, which I'm NOT happy about at all!
Upcoming appointments: Next Friday I have my glucose test and also see the Perinatolgoist one more time to hopefully get better pictures on the level 2 ultrasound
Questions for the group: none that I can think of right now
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? (Shamelessly stolen from M/T) I wake up remembering my dreams and thinking WTF, but then by the time I'm out of the shower (anywhere from 10-15 minutes after waking up) I can't remember them. The only one I remember was from Wednesday night (not weird thought), but I dreamt of my Dad. He's been gone for 14 years and I rarely dream about him so when I do I find it comforting; plus in the dream I had a baby, but it was a girl not a boy like I'm expecting. So I took that as a sign my Dad knows even from Heaven that I'm finally having a baby! ok, done with the mushy stuff as I'm starting to tear up!
Week/ fruit: 23/grapefruit (which I'm sorry TB, seems way off)
Rants/raves/symptoms: Feeling pretty good these days. My hips and thighs have been hurting because I'm still not used to sleeping on my side. But I love feeling our girl kick me regularly! And finding childcare is a pain in my butt but we have 2 appointments next Tuesday and I have a really good feeling about one of them!
Upcoming appointments: Next Friday, 2/5 - I'll do the glucose test at that time.
Questions for the group: @bookelf221 - our hospital is amazing so we are going to take the childbirth class, newborn care class (I found out about a month ago that DH has never changed a diaper in his life), the breastfeeding class and the tour of the L&D floor.
My question: when do you plan on having your hospital bags packed and ready to go?
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? (Shamelessly stolen from M/T) All of my dreams lately have been weird. Donald Trump was in one, my boss' boss was in another. Just weird.
Rants/raves/symptoms: I am generally getting more and more uncomfortable, Braxton Hicks and swollen feet have ramped up this week. Feeling movement makes it all worth it though. I am starting to get a sense of her schedule and can kind of predict when she'll become active but I have no sense of her positioning or what she's moving, I really can't tell the difference between a kick and a punch. At my appt yesterday we did an ultrasound and I was surprised to see her chilling head down on my left side, I would have sworn she was breech on my right! I saw her hiccup though and now I know when I'm feeling hiccups which makes me smile.
Upcoming appointments: 2/25 for monthly appt, sooner if I fail the glucose test (results are in on Saturday)
Questions for the group:@mrstmoose I've arbitrarily decided on 36 weeks as back-packing time.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? (Shamelessly stolen from M/T) I have several dreams every night but lose the memory of them pretty quickly - they are all extremely weird. My H is always a jerk when he's in them which is weird because he is such a sweetie in real life.
@mrstmoose We thought about a newborn class- but our friends have a newborn we've gotten to practice with- and both of us have babysitting experience :-) I'm thinking I'll have a hospital bag packed around the beginning of April- middle of April at the latest. I know we're planning on installing the carseat at that point.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Tonight the 2nd grade moms are having a mom's night out/baby shower for me! I'm excited! It's mainly a diaper shower - will totally need a ton of those with twins! The invitations were cute and at the top had a wine bottle and two baby bottles next to it. I love our elementary school families.
this is either a Rant or a Rave but I think we're buying a minivan this weekend. NEVER thought I'd go there! But, with 4 kids and a limited budget they just make sense functionally. I'm sure I'll love it. Power doors? handy!
Upcoming appointments: My next appt. is in a week and I'll be meeting with a new Dr. in this practice. I can't believe I'm finally getting around to switching at 25 weeks but I have just never been thrilled with the midwife I've been seeing. I loved my midwives with my first two kids but that office closed and they're at different hospitals now. Anyway, hoping this Dr is 'the one'.
Questions for the group:
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? I actually had one earlier this week but I have already forgotten it. I really don't seem to dream very much! (or not that I remember).
@bookelf221 - We aren't taking anything this time but with our first we did do a Sat. 1 session childbirth class. I thought it was really good for DH who had no baby experience at all. Everything they taught us I had pretty much read in a book. It was still 'fun' - like a step towards the big day (and our hospital wasn't expensive).
@Mrstmoose - Good question, that made me think! Hmmmm, I might get a bag ready around 32 weeks since I'm having twins? I have found in the past that half the stuff you can't really pack until you actually leave (toiletries, clothes). With my 2nd though labor was moving along so quick I could barely toss things in a pile for my DH to finish packing!
@2.red.heads - I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I like our minivan. We have a VW Routan and it feels more like an SUV to me when I drive it than a regular old fashioned minivan. We got ours 1.5 years ago when our suburban started having major issues. I have 4 step children so the need for a large vehicle has been an issue prior to be becoming pregnant. I refused for years to give in on the minivan topic, but I've since eaten my words!
Rants/raves/symptoms: Heartburn like crazy! I've started having trouble sleeping. I've been up since 3am this morning. Needless to say... I'm dragging! But all the kicks, punches, and movements are making it totally worth it. I'm a FTM and of course the movements are my favorite part. When she's having a little party in my stomach it instantly puts a smile on my face and makes me feel like her and I are sharing a little secret. I love it!
Upcoming appointments: Feb 15th. I had my glucose test on Monday, and just got the call that my numbers are normal, Yay!
Questions for the group: We haven't even started on her nursery yet. We are redoing the carpet, and having the walls painted...but haven't started yet. I feel like we're really slacking. But it's overwhelming to think of everything we need...and everything we have to get done. Are any other momma's procrastinating on this because you feel overwhelmed? Or is it just me?
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? (Shamelessly stolen from M/T) My dreams seem to be really vivid while I'm having them...but I can't ever remember them when I try. My SO just had a dream last night that our sweet girl was here. He had the biggest smile on his face while he was telling me all about it this morning. So great!
Rants/raves/symptoms: I had my first night of heartburn this week but thankfully it was short lived. My hips and lower back are awful just like last time but at least I started going to the chiropractor sooner this time.
Upcoming appointments: 2 weeks until my appt and glucose screening
Questions for the group: none today
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? (Shamelessly stolen from M/T) I'm not sure, but I do wake up feeling like my dreams have been stressful. Can't really explain it better!
Rants/raves/symptoms: I have had a really emotional day, I am feeling all the things. Have had back pain and hip pain recently but today seems better!
Upcoming appointments: Next week!
Questions for the group: none today
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? I've been having so many dreams lately. Some sex related, some giving birth dreams, and many more I can't remember now but did a few minutes after waking up!
Rants/raves/symptoms: Starting to notice some Braxton hicks contractions. The movements never get old...such fun! Finally the pelvic pain is not as strong.
Upcoming appointments: Thursday. I also have to schedule my glucose test still.
Questions for the group: None today.
GTKY: Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? I've continuously had dreams about pregnancy, labor, and delivery...usually involving multiples, and I'm only having one baby. So vivid and strange!
