Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I'm going to be making a little bit more money with more potential for growth soon! BUT my boss decided what is best for me instead of consulting with me and dropped a bomb on me yesterday (this might be normal in a corporate setting but I'm a martial arts instructor and it's more like a family with my boss and co-workers). So now basically I'm leaving my students at my current school in 2 months after being with them for years! Luckily I had time to cry it out privately before classes started. Symptoms: insomnia! Ugh! And aches, side/back pain. Crazy emotional.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Declutter, get our house plans situated so once we can build in the spring and hopefully have it go smoothly. Signed up for childbirth preparation class, newborn care class and information session and tour at the hospital.
Questions?
GTKY: What is one of your favorite snacks? Zesty jalapeno chips, Justin's dark chocolate peanut butter cups, frosted Cheerios/cinnamon crunch cereal, ramen noodles, granny Smith apples, orange juice.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? The baby is kicking soooo much more frequently lately. I love it! At our a/s two weeks ago the baby was breech, and I tend to feel the most kicks pretty low, so of course now I'm getting paranoid that baby's going to stay breech and not turn around in time for birth. I know it's a very silly concern, and it's way too early to worry about how the baby is positioned, but that's my current paranoia.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Getting ready to move and getting organized for leave after the baby is born.
GTKY:What is one of your favorite snacks? Either chips and salsa, or popcorn!
@Kballew10 don't worry about it, girl! I didn't really feel anything until 19 and some change and now I'm feeling it quite a bit. Patience grasshopper (But trust me, I was the same as you so I can't blame you)
How far along are you? 21 weeks
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rave- going to begin BRU registry this weekend and ordering my super comfy swivel glider recliner tomorrow, and my mom and grandmother are footing the bill. Love them! Symptoms- not too much other than always hungry (and feeling bad about it), indigestion, occasional sharp back pains, but nothing too bad
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Registering soon; making plans to move the boys into the same room and make way for baby
GTKY: What is one of your favorite snacks? (I'm hungry, so food is the first thing on my mind this morning). Agree with PP about all the cheeses and I also love pimiento cheese on pork rinds
Sorry I've been MIA the last week or so. I've been so sick, I've just been working/sleeping...repeat. Missed a few days of work too so trying to play catch up.
How far along are you? 18+4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Just feeling like crap still. My cardiologist cancelled my appointment last week and she wants me to have a stress test done tomorrow and then see me. I'm super nervous.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Cleaning out the nursery and rest of the house. De-cluttering and it feels so good!
Questions? I can not decide on a stroller! I thought I had it picked out but now I've changed my mind twice. This is the hardest decision besides the crib!
GTKY: What is one of your favorite snacks? (I'm hungry, so food is the first thing on my mind this morning). Does ice cream count? Um, I think yes

OMG I've been freaking out about a stroller! I didn't want to register for anything too expensive and was torn between two (evenflo lux 24 and chicco cortina travel systems) and didn't even want to mess with anything that was over $300 (travel systems) then of course I go and mess with the Chiccp Bravo and love it! But it's $380 I'm hoping my mom and dad (who are veryyyy well off) will buy it along with the nursery furniture like she said she wanted to when she first found out I was pregnant. I never thought this would be so stressful! That's been the hardest decision besides bottles for me.
Too many to respond to everyone, but GL to everyone with upcoming appts and yay to everyone feeling baby kicks/movement!!!

Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: Had to go back to work today, but it's only for 5 hours so, bright-side! Rave: A/S went great even if baby did not want to show us his heart very well. After twist and turning to try to get a better angle and try to jostle baby into moving, finally got to see all of him. He even mooned us at one point. Happy and relieved that everything is well with baby. Won't feel movement for a couple more weeks probably since I have an anterior placenta so that's a bummer, but just happy baby is healthy!! Symptoms: Not much actually, just trying to get used to this growing bump! It's really getting hard doing some things like putting on shoes and socks and whatnot!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Registry stuff this weekend hopefully! Maybe going to another Mazda dealership to try to make a deal. Trip to Miami is booked!
GTKY: What is one of your favorite snacks? (I'm hungry, so food is the first thing on my mind this morning): Chips and salsa and queso and guac, cheese and crackers, DH's hummus w/pita, any available junk food
Me - 33, DH - 33 Married - May 2014 DH - Low Count/Motility/Morph - Varicocele vein x 2 - surgery (8/11) - success! BFP - 10/10/15, EDD - 6/20/16 - It's a BOY! Baby #1 - 6/29/16 - Lucas Christopher, 10 lbs 3 oz, 22.25 inches Baby #2 - TTC May 2017 BFP - 9/10/17, EDD - 5/26/18 - It's a GIRL! - RCS May 22nd
Question: If this applies, how did you tell your toddler about the new arrival? I take it my daughter kind of knows something's up and I've talked about it a bit with other people when she's around but I have yet to have any kind of big "you're going to be a sister" talk.
We aren't doing any big talk. He'll be about 2.5 and doesn't really get it. He has a doll so he can "help" and "practice" but he does pretty good with real babies.
My 2.5 year old knows I have a 'baby in my belly' - so naturally, she does too. She tells me to be careful when I hug her, not to squish her baby. We didn't do anything super exciting to tell her though.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: Another issue showed up (seriously?!) for baby. This time in my fetal cardiac echo, possible hole in heart. More testing required. Also got a call from a high-risk doctor with an appointment for next week. I don't even know why I'm seeing this doc, as I have been booking so many other appointments, but I googled him and he looks to be the Medical Director of the OBS GYN ultrasound unit in the Hospital's placenta health clinic. OK? I am assuming that something else showed up on my level 2 u/s that I wasn't told about yet? I have no clue. **Updated b/c I decided to stop being dumb and just call to ask what the appt is for - this doc will be my new high risk doc and will most likely follow me through my pregnancy now - I can still see my midwife, but not as my primary care giver.
Anyways, this rant also includes my prediction that I'm going to be broke paying for all the hospital parking over the next few weeks. Rave: Baby is kicking and moving and I can feel it from the outside and it makes me so happy and I feel like everything is going to be ok. Symptoms: gross congestion and bloody snot (tmi) - which I think someone else mentioned having. It's so gross! Also getting more restless at night and the tiredness of first tri seems to be back with a vengeance. Also I feel huge and mammoth.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Having a million doc appts/week??? hehe
Questions? Nope!
GTKY: What is one of your favorite snacks? Dill pickle chips. Dill pickle everything.
@CourtJack that is so adorable! How sweet! My neighbor's 2.5 yr old 'checks' my belly every time I come over to 'see' the baby making sure to lift my shirt and inspect my tummy. Then pats the baby. I melt every time.
I'm really sorry about the more bad news! Glad you have a new high risk doc to give you some serious attention and support. I'll keep my fingers crossed the dr is a genius with an incredible bedside manner and all the answers a mom could hope for, and of course also validates parking.
