I'm sorry. Hang in there. I did 8 rounds of IUI because it was covered by my insurance. I just switched to IVF. It's totally out of pocket, it took 3 months to save and we had to refinance our house. But there is hope after unsuccessful IUI. Don't give up. Also they recommend at least 3 rounds of IUI. GL
@Selena2016 did you have to pay for injects or was that covered by insurance too? My insurance covers iui but have to pay oop for injects. Still should keep trying with iui but seems so hard to get a BFP for most (with pcos or other infertility issues) without ivf. Thinking we will move to ivf soon enough just might be in debt for awhile after!
Married to DH since 8/15
TTC since 5/15
PCOS, 35+, diagnosed with pre-diabetes TI for 4 cycles: 1 round of femara; 2 rounds femara/ injectables: all ended in BFN. 3 IUI Cycles: letrozole/Follistim with HCG Trigger,all resulted in BFN. FET #1: Baseline appt 4/28/16, Gonal-F/Menopur stims, Centrotide 5/4/16, ER 5/11/16; 6/8/16 ET, BFN FET #2: Baseline appt 6/22/16, Estrace/PIO shots: 7/12/16 ET, 1st beta 7/21/16: 83 BFP, 2nd beta 7/23/16: 315. 1st U/S: 8/4/16 empty sac. 2nd U/S: 8/10/16 yolk sac appeared, everything stopped growing. Office D&C: 8/11/16, MC. FET #3: Baseline appt 12/28/16, Estrace/PIO shots: 1/17/17 ET, 1st beta 1/27/17: 146 BFP, 2nd beta 1/29/17: 336, 1st U/S: 2/16/17, 2 healthy twin babies measuring 7w0d. EDD: 10/5/17
I'm so sorry about the BFN, @MarleyHC. I hope af comes soon for you to start on a new cycle. I hated getting BFNs.. so I'm sorry it happened to you twice on IUI. Will you do a 3rd IUI? Is it possible to try injections next cycle instead of clomid?
@piperella I'll ask my RE this time. On clomid I've only had one follicle, maybe two. So I want to ask about injections instead to see if that'll boost the targets. Last IUI post wash DH had 6.5M. The first IUI they told me 22M, but I don't know if that is pre or post wash. DH quit smoking in September, and I just found out for about the last three weeks he started smoking again, so we'll have to deal with that. Our Dr. told us you can do almost anything in moderation, except smoke. Smoking is a real fertility killer.
We are paying out of pocket for everything. Insurance covered the testing with a copay. IUI is not covered. We can *afford* (I use this term loosely) to do some more IUI's. I told my dad that I didn't know if I 'wanted' a baby as much as IVF would cost and he told me I did (I do, but not sure if we can really afford it). Wondering if it is a better plan than IUI and if we should just save our IUI money and potentially borrow against the house for IVF.
Does anyone know the statistics on IVF when the fertility issue is borderline MIF with DH?

@Selena2016 they say for every 1,000 IU of HCG it takes a day to leave the system. I only took 1,200 i.u. of novarel so it was out of my system within a few days.
AFM: We got snowed in so I had my beta today and it was 521 second beta is scheduled for Thursday
@emgem819 I never did injections with IUI only clomid. I'm not sure if it was covered because it was not offered. I do know that I wish I would have moved to IVF sooner. The chances of BFP are so much better with IVF.
Couldn't help myself this morning, I POAS and of course it was a BFN! I'm 8dpt, BETA is on Thursday morning and I don't think I tested too early? I'm hurt that this is another failed attempt but I have 4 more embabies waiting to be transferred and all we can do is push forward! I truly believe that we'll all get our healthy and happy baby one day!
I tested this evening (stupid. stupid. stupid. Wrong time of day) at 11DPO BFN. I will test again on Thursday morning. It would be a MIRACLE if we got a BFP on our own. Ugh.

Stay positive @PrayingMom2Be my clinic says no matter what the beta is most accurate. 8dpt is early. Did you transfer 1 or 2 embryos?
@susykat77 was this cycle IUI or IVF? Sorry if I missed something.
My BETA is tomorrow at 8:15am. Then they call by 3pm. I want to be out of the house so I don't go crazy. I'm also worried about an emotional response (no matter the results) in public. This wait has seamed like an eternity. My DH and I have had so many BFN's I'm really hoping now is or time.
Thank you so much @selena2016, u don't understand how encouraging that sounds to me right now! We transferred 2 grade A embabies, how about u? We're BETA buddies tomorrow! I just have to make sure to get in before 10 AM so I can get results by 3 PM. I understand how you feel all too well about all those BFNs!! DH and I pray that this is also our time (3 failed attempts already)!
*mc mentioned* @Selena2016 this was a good ole college try cycle. We're moving onto donor eggs and expect to have a FET the first week of March. We did actually try Femara this cycle but I didnt expect it to do much as we've had 3 IVF cycles and only one cycle with anything to freeze. The FET resulted in a pregnancy but I had a MMC.
Hoping for a positive beta for you tomorrow!! FX

@PrayingMom2Be I transferred 2 as well. I'm trying to not get excited and brace myself for anything but I want to be a mom with all of my heart. We have been TTC for 4 years. FX for both of us!
@susykat77 thank you! Also the statistics of success with donor eggs is really high. I will think positive thoughts for you!
Ok ladies I got my BETA result and it was over 200! I got my Big Fat Positive! Thank you for all of your support and kind words. FX for everyone in this group!
Certain things come easier to some than others and this definitely stands true for me with IVF! A BFN.... Again for the 4th time!! As much as I wanna give up and count my blessings now but my yearning to be a mother weighs heavier than anything! So with that being said, I will hold my head up high and push forward with yet another FET.
