Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What time does your DC wake up in the morning?

My DD has been waking up between 4 and 5 am for about a month now.  She woke up at exaclty 4:50 the past three mornings, I think she has an alarm clock in her crib:)

Just wondering if anyone else has such an early morning?  I have tried everything to push is back.  I rock her when she wakes up, try to push back bed time, put her to bed earlier, nothing changes.  I would love for her to wake up earliest 5:30.

4 is so hard to except.

Re: What time does your DC wake up in the morning?

  • My DD goes to bed around 7, also what time does your DC go to bed?

  • Between 6 and 7am for a bottle, then I put him right back down and he sleeps until 9-ish.

  • she goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up 715am- on the DOT. EXACTLY every morning.

she is a really crappy napper though but sleeps great at night.

  • DS goes to bed at 8 pm and wakes up between 7:30 and 8 am. He is a terrible napper during the day though! His naps (1-2 a day) last between 30 to 45 minutes.
  • DD goes to bed around 7 and usually wakes between 5 and 6.  I can't imagine that 4 is any fun at all!  I wish I had some advice for you...does she wake up tired at all?

  • goes to bed usually between 7 and 7:30...gets up at 6am usually.
  • These days, 5:30. It was 6:00-6:30. We feed her at 10 each night.
  • BTW-Haylie is so adorable! :)
  • DS goes to bed between 7-8 every night and wakes up between 7-8 every morning.
  • He goes to bed between 7 and 7:30, and will usually wake up between 6 and 6:30. I'd love to give him a bottle and send him back to bed, but he's usually up for good at that point (fine during the week, not so much on weekends). Now that he's sleeping well at night, his naps seem kind of cruddy lately, almost like even if he were to sleep for at least an hour each time, he usually seems tired afterwards.
  • DD goes to sleep around 7:45pm, and is up these days at around 5:45am, with the occasional 6 or 6:30am thrown in there.  She was up at 4:50am about a week ago, but she went back to sleep after a few minutes, thank goodness.  I can't imagine waking up that early.  You could try pushing back naps and bedtime and see if that works to make her wake up later.
  • We get her up at 6:15, but if we let her sleep she would sleep in until 8 or so. However, the last three nights she's been getting up around 4 AM because she's hungry or that her teeth hurt (she's getting 4 teeth at the same time), so that's been a real pain when I already get up at 5:30 for work.
  • We are in the same boat. DD goes to bed between 6 and 6:30 and was waking up at 5 a.m. every morning. I was actually okay with that, but now it's been moving back - first 4:50, then 4:40, then 4 a.m.

For me, 4 a.m. is not okay and last night when she did that I went in and fed her and then put her back down. She fussed a little, but not bad, and slept until 6ish.

  • He sleeps for 12 hours - so usually 7:30pm to 7am or 8pm to 8am.
  • Bed at 7:30, wakes between 6 and 7am.   She doesn't nap much during the day though.

How much is she napping during the day??  Maybe she's sleeping too much during the day.

  • 8am goes to bed at 7:30
  • gets up at 9:30-10AM, takes a nap at 12 til 2 or 1 til 3, might take another nap at 4:00 til 5:30, goes to bed at 10PM.

  • For months, Hadley consistently woke up between 4 and 4:30 am.  We'd bring her into our bed and she's sleep until 6 (when I get up).   Last week, we started using the Ferber method to help her drop the 4 am wakeup (since we knew she would sleep longer since she did it every day as long as someone was there to snuggle with her).  Now she's staying in her crib all night and waking up between 6 and 7.  FWIW, she goes to bed around 7:30.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you--I don't know what I'd do if Hadley woke up at 4 and wouldn't go back to sleep (aside from drinking even more Diet Coke than I already do, obviously)!

  • Bed at 8, wakes for the day at about 5:30 - 6:00, takes about two naps during the day, for about an hour and a half - total.

  • DD goes to bed between 8 and 9.  if she STTN (which for us starts around 11pm cause she tends to stir/wake up once between 8 or 9 and 11) she wakes up at almost 6:15 on the dot.  very bizarre.
  • Caleb wakes up between 7 and 8am.  He naps 10-12:30.  He sometimes naps 4-5pm and is in bed by 7:30pm.  He is dropping his 2nd nap and I think we will try to move his first nap a little later to keep him happy through the evening.
  • DD goes to bed between 8:30 and 9 and wakes up at 8:20am on the dot every morning. She doesn't nap very well though during the day... two naps and I'm lucky if they last an hour each.

  • He goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:30pm and is up between 6:00 and 6:45am.
  • Yikes!  Can you feed her and have her go back down for a couple hours?

My girls go to sleep at 7:30pm and get up between 7 and 7:30am.

  • Usually between 5:30 and 6:30. This morning it was 5am.  Which reminds me, I should really go to bed.
  • anytime between 4:30 and 7:30 but on weekdays she has to be up by 6/6:30 anyway so it works for us
