What are you eating?

  • The nausea is making it hard for me to eat much during the morning/early afternoon. I'm trying to make up for it with more food in the evening. I'm craving a lot of salty foods. Tried to treat myself to a cookie and gagged.
  • Crackers, ginger ale, crackers and cheese together, ravioli with marinara sauce. The ravioli is random, but I've been craving it. I'll be surprised if I ever eat chicken again. Yuck

  • I've been living off buttered toast and ginger ale. Basically the only thing I can stomach until about 7pm. :(
  • I want all the carbs.  I've been craving the cheesy bread from Little Caesers and then I feel sick after a few bites.  I've tried to eat a crispy chicken sandwich two days in a row, but I've ended up trashing it both times after a bite or two.  I want to eat healthy so badly, but veggies make me want to throw up just thinking about them.   Of course, I don't have any issues eating French fries!! Also, I'm having the hardest time drinking water.  I've gone from  76 oz a day to about 20 oz a day.  This morning I threw my water up before I left for work.  I'm not sure what to do about this.

Hey Ladies...i wanted to share this recipe with you...i'm trying it out right now and it seems to be helping!!

    Ginger/lemon/honey tea

    1 tablespoon fresh ginger
    1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    1 tablespoon of honey

put the ginger in hot/boiling water and let steep.  Then Add lemon and honey

    Enjoy!

I'm trying it right now without the honey (just didn't have any) and it's pretty good and has helped with the nausea for the moment.  I hope this helps you too!

EDIT: You probably want to remove the ginger after 5-10 min or else it gets REALLY strong

  • Peppermint tea definitely calms my stomach and even seems to help me calm down which = better sleep & not as bad mood swings. I've been kinda general this pregnancy. I've been craving steak and red meat and it really hits the spot when I do have it. But then yesterday I couldn't ready anything except veggies, just light food. Apparently I not only get mood swings but craving swings. Definitely tea helps though.
  • NOTHING sounds good to me these days.  It really hit me hard just over the weekend.  Basically my husband is so worried that i'm not eating(anything other than crackers and water) that he offered to buy me cake and nachos!!  who says no to that?! this girl right here...both sound absolutely disgusting.  I just keep eating crackers...i seem to be craving salt, but even then idk...what are you eating?  I need ideas!

This was me last time for about 4 months. DH had a very hard time handling it. I had to let him know I appreciated his concern, but I wasn't able to stomach eating many things.

  • The nausea is killing me, all day every day. Even when I'm absolutely starving, the moment I bite into something I immediately regret it. The few things I have been able to stomach, fruity cheerios, toast with butter, apples, bananas, and saltiness with peanut butter. I have had a dull aversion to any kind of meat, which has left my poor husband with no dinner plans these days, the thought of cooking sickens me.

Looking forward to the days when this subsides...
  • i am FEASTING right now! i hope it doesn't come to bite me in the ass...but i'm not nauseous and got a chicken sandwich with a side of fries AND mac n cheese...it's going good for now, eating more than i have eaten in the past week probably.  enjoying it while it lasts!

  • The last two mornings Ive gotten Hashbrowns and McCafe Mocha from the big M. I have to say they have been SOOOOO heavenly. Some reason i just want damn hashbrowns, gimme all the hashbrowns. BUT they must be crispy. And i havent had any coffee for 3 weeks. i just woke up one day and said that sounds disgusting. AND I LOVE COFFEE! So the Mocha is a nice change too.
  • I've been taking half a unisom at night & wearing acupressure bands. Seems to cut down on the nausea.

In the morning I usually have a cup of tea with a little cream/sugar and a piece of fruit (apple or pear). If I'm feeling brave I'll eat blueberries & cottage cheese and some toast.

For lunch I usually have PB&J, crackers and fruit. I realize as I'm typing this that it sounds like a  lunch for a 5 year old, haha. Oh well.

Dinner is whatever I feel like making for the family that night. I'm usually feeling fine by then.

  • Nothing really appeals but I'm slowly finding some "go-tos" that I can always tolerate.  Cereal and milk, crackers and peanut butter, popcorn, black tea with milk, dry cheerios, fruit flavoured yogurt.
  • Salad! I can't get enough salad with thousand island dressing. I'm not a huge salad fan to begin with, after having one 3 nights in a row, it was actually one of our clues that I was expecting.
  • Oh, and I've been trying to eat more protein and ended up snacking on tortilla chips dipped in refried beans.  Nothing else, just the chips and beans :s

I bought tater tots the other day :o  Same idea, they are so good but I feel so guilty!
  • This week has been salad with lots of croutons. And bacon....all the bacon!

  • @Kimmy717 @0SeaMonkey0 lol! I'll only eat the outer edges of the hash brown.

Today was craving ethnic foods so husband picked up some Indian food. I'm in heaven.

  • I am nauseous all the time!!!! Unless I'm eating ha it makes it hard to eat anything but once I do I'm alright for the duration. I'm trying a mix of different things. Dairy products are on my must have list right now. Whatever sounds good at the moment I'm able to eat (for the most part). Occasionally something sounds amazing and then I can't stomach it after 2-3 bites.
  • Try lemon juice in the water so it will give it a flavor
  • Give me all the cheese! Marble Jack cheese sticks... Colby and Monterey Jack shredded onto a whole wheat tortilla and microwaved to make a quesadilla... Applebees chicken quesadilla... grilled cheese sandwiches.... Black bean burrito with shredded cheese...
Also give me the strawberries, the lemon water, and all the grape juice. Thanks.

All weekend I've been waiting to make french toast out of the Trader Joes Cinnamon Roll bread I bought.  Sounds amazing, right?

This morning I got up, got all the ingredients out, and just as I was about to crack the first egg, the whole idea (making and eating it) made me feel super nauseous.  Ugh.  So cereal with blueberries and bananas it is.

Also, last night my husband laughed at me cause I had a mozzarella stick salad.  I knew I needed greens, but I wanted mozzarella sticks.  So I laid the sticks on a bed of spinach and ate it with the cheese that oozed out and between sticks.  Gotta do what you gotta do, right?

I mean they are high in cholesterol but you should be okay
  • I've been eating a lot of sweets lately. Cinnamon roll with brown sugar waffles with French vanilla ice cream. Thank you to the cute little girl scouts who also stopped by this afternoon. Add 2 boxes of tagalongs and 2 boxes of dos I dos.
  • Not much. I think I have IC (interstitial cystitis) that started right before I got pregnant. It's undiagnosed, but I am supposed to be on the low-acid IC diet, which sucks. All I want is a coke and some hot wings. *cries*

Right now I'm satisfying my sweet cravings with apples or honey nut cheerios & milk.

Crap I didn't think about that. I'm going to have to cut back since this summer my cholesterol was a little on the higher side of normal.

  • I started out so determined to eat super healthy. I didn't think it would be hard because I normally eat a very healthy diet. But all I want is carbs and high fat foods. Hot dogs, pizza, macaroni and cheese, waffles. Non pregnant me would be very grossed out by this...
  • i'm so sad...last night my husband made nachos (with nacho cheese sauce) for me...side note this is my FAVORITE!  i took one bight and it didn't even taste good!!  I picked around and found chips with minimal cheese on them to eat :frowning:

I just want to figure out something to eat...whatever it is!

  • I also wish I could find something to eat. I'm lucky if I eat more than crackers. I'm also struggling to drink. Hoping this doesn't last so I can get some good nutrition in me for baby : /
  • @bettertogether27 Yes. CHEESE GLORIOUS CHEEEEEESE! I'm SO with you!

Similar to last time, my cravings are carbs/salty/snack type foods, and reading about the super sweet foods in here makes my stomach do a quick flip.  Am I predicting another boyyyyyy???

  • I think a third of my diet is Goldfish crackers.

Try not drinking water till the afternoon after you've gotten some food down... That helped me last time!
  • Hummus with fried lamb!
  • Nothing really sounds good.. except eggo nutrigrain waffles.. I really wanted taco bell tacos with sour cream last night (gross, I know) and ate one and threw them away :( they were supposed to be so delicious.. and then just werent. I choked down a Greek yogurt at work the other night. I've been eating lots of cheese its.. and chewing double mint gum!
  • All the eggs!! How many is too many??
I mean they are high in cholesterol but you should be okay
Nah @AmMcc12 multiple eggs per day are fine!! They've actually shown recently that dietary cholesterol has very little to do with your blood cholesterol. Also, the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol is what's most important, so as far as dietary cholesterol might affect you, eggs have the perfect ratio. Eat those eggs, girl! :)
  • I have been loading up on fruits and veggies. My BFF/cousin who has a 6 month old swore by eating fruits and veggies when not feeling good, and so far it's working. Super addicted to raspberries lately! Don't get me wrong, I still eat some crap too. I bought a bag of chips and sour cream so I can make chips and dip for myself on Superbowl Sunday lol!

  • Nothing. I'm not nauseas but I'm also not very hungry. Only a few things ever sound good. I expected to have the need to nibble all day like my others but the only symptoms I have are very slightly swollen breasts and my hips have already started to widen. I originally thought I couldn't fit into my pants because of the bloating but it turns out it's these baby hips. I don't remember this with my others. Very weird...
