Before you ask if I'm crazy, I probably am. I had a horrible pregnancy as a lot of you know from reading my story. Six doctor appointments a week for the last 10 weeks of pregnancy. Also had a horrible 25 hour labor with no epidural until the end where I ended up having a very scary emergency c-section. After all this I still find myself planning the next one. I got a clean bill of health from my doctors and they see no reason why I can't have another baby. I have always wanted my kids to be close together. I am not on birth control but I am breastfeeding. I know that's not a reliable source of birth control and I'm ok with that. I'm seeking advice from second time moms who have LOs close in age. We'd like to get pregnant by the time she's a year. What advice can you offer? What did you find easy/hard? What do you wish someone would have told you? I find myself thinking about the little things. Should we buy another crib since Elliot's converts all the way up. Would it be easier to move her to a toddler bed and give our next baby the crib? Will she even be old enough for a toddler bed? I know that nobody can plan my life obviously, just looking for some advice to help my husband and I along this journey since I'm worried about the smallest things!
Also, is anyone else thinking of the next LO yet or am I the only crazy one?
Re: anyone planning the next LO already?
Little is older before we have another but I'm ready for number 2!
Im at work but I did google it. Mayo clinic & cdc have papers & articles online with recommendations and what the second child is at an increased risk for.
I BF DS and did not get my period back until he was 14 months old, then got pregnant with this one when he was 16 months. No real advise so far. I like the age gap we have. About getting a 2nd crib we chose not to and just got DS a toddler bed. DS is very easy going and handles change well, if he had a harder time with change I probably would of gotten a 2nd crib. We had no issues changing him to the toddler bed (I think he was about 20 months when he changed).
However I've always had a gap between children so l can't advise much in what the pros and cons would be.
️️Mommy of 4 here. My oldest will be 6 feb 25th. My first two are 2 weeks shy of 2 years apart, #2 & #3 are 2y 2m apart and #3 & #4 are 19m apart. My first 3 were not planned! We started trying for our last one when #3 was about 3/4m old. I love having my kiddos so close in age but honestly have to say the 2 years apart is better. It's harder for #3 to grasp having to be gentle. It was also harder for me to love on #3 a ton because of a big belly and nursing so much the first month. He is a good sport about it and loves his brother a ton but it was easier with the 2 year gap. I also like that they all fall in where there is one year in between them school wise. So I will only have 2 in high school at the same time (when my oldest is a senior my second will be a sophomore)
