NOTHING sounds good to me these days.  It really hit me hard just over the weekend.  Basically my husband is so worried that i'm not eating(anything other than crackers and water) that he offered to buy me cake and nachos!!  who says no to that?! this girl right here...both sound absolutely disgusting.  I just keep eating crackers...i seem to be craving salt, but even then idk...what are you eating?  I need ideas!

Re: What are you eating?

  • Fruit, saltines, and ramen noodles are my jam these days. I'm with you --- nothing sounds remotely appetizing, even my old favorites. Try smoothies!

cereal and milk was huge for me, all i wanted for like days, pretzels, and halo oranges.

I had a dream last night i was at Dunkin Donuts to get their hashbrowns and those sound really good lately!!
  • I'm with you on the nothing! I went to the store hoping I could pick up some food that looked good. I just walked around and left with some ruby red squirt. I'm soooo hungry, but literally nothing sounds good.
  • @ElcaB i did do a smoothie over the weekend and that seemed to be good.  maybe i'll start doing those for breakfast or dinner...i have sorta been craving some top romen (oriental flavor) but i know it's just so high in sodium that i'm trying to avoid it :-/

Egg drop soup with soy sauce was AMAZING one day

  • It's so tough. And a lot of times when I finally decide on something that I want, I take a bite then I'm over it. I was on Pinterest and saw a chili cheese dip. It looked amazing. I made it, had two bites and couldn't look at it. I should have known better.

These are my fall backs right now...Plain bagels toasted with butter, Special K Chocolately Delight Cereal with milk, fruit punch Gatorade, cheese, waffles.

Trying to come up with dinner ideas is the absolute worst right now!

  • @LizC216 same! i got a yummy chicken sandwich...i managed to eat the whole thing but definitely by the second half i was over it.

Today i'm thinking pepperoni pizza...but at the same time it doesn't sound that great

Oh! and to top it off my MIL stays with us during the week (Tues-Thurs) and we haven't told her yet cause we still haven't seen the doc to confirm completely (though this nausea speaks for itself).  I don't know how i'm going to hide it tonight at dinner...probably gonna have to spill the beans to her and hope she doesn't tell the whole family

  • What am I NOT eating?!  Actually I think it helps being a vegetarian... I've known a lot of people to grow an aversion to meat while pregnant and without that in my diet to begin with, I'm pretty well off (even cooking meat for my husband grosses me out while pregnant while usually it does not).  I'm eating mostly normal foods with some crackers/pirate's booty/peanut butter in between to quell the nausea from hunger.  No big aversions yet, just trying to keep from gaining weight with my nausea munchies!

  • So I have the oppisite... I want every carby fattness created. Then I eat it and almost die within 5 mins. Not to mention that all healthy foods make me want to try a water diet. It really does suck dealing with food aversion.

Have you tried pastas? Carbs? As others said I eat b-l-d and then I eat a snack in between. That helps my nausea a lil bit.

  • @AnnaS930 i actually got an aversion to vegetables my last pregnancy and it's starting to creep up again.  I also got an aversion to chicken so i remember sunday nights were terrible because my husband would bake his chicken for the week (and veggies for that night) and i could not go anywhere near the kitchen during that time!

  • @erinmarie86 - a veggie aversion! OH NO!!  I hope I don't get that, I'd be really out of luck at that point!

My husband just texted saying he and E got 2 bags of Doritos while picking up some potatoes/onions for a stew this week.  My boys know the way to my heart.  Now if this bloat would go down so I can enjoy my chips - why did I wear my tightest jeans today?!

  • So far today.. Scrambled eggs with pepperoni, Granny Smith apple and now I am devouring some bagel bites. I'm loving all things spicy right now, I don't know why but I can't get enough! I need to lay off by my third trimester or I will die of heartburn

  • @CRich15 BAGEL BITES!!!!  omg.. I haven't had those in years.  Now I'm debating if they're better crispy in the toaster oven or rubber in the microwave.  I know one way to find out - on my grocery list for next week! THANKS!

  • Currently, peanut butter m&ms
  • My problem is that I grow an aversion to anything I eat that later upsets my stomach.  And it seems my list of avoidances is ever-expanding.  Basically, I force myself to eat something (I have zero appetite but know I need to eat otherwise I will start feeling sick), once I start eating it goes down pretty well and I can half enjoy it, within a half hour I start feeling crappy and then whatever I just ate goes on the 'avoid' list.  The only things that are still 'safe' are string cheese and oatmeal...though I'm not sure if it's because they're truly 'safe' or because I'm eating them earlier in the day before my "morning" sickness really kicks in.

I was addicted to those right after I had my second daughter. Dangerously good!

  • @AnnaS930 I am a veggie too! :) I know it is still early but the bloat has been making eating healthy fruits and veggies less appealing than carbs. No food aversions yet but I am not as likely to want to eat healthy as I usually am. For example, tonight I am going to indulge in the cheese pizza rolls that my husband bought for me last night.

  • I am living off of whole wheat crackers and water. No joke. It's not good.
  • I went 20mins out of my way in between jobs to grab the bigMac I was craving....halfway through it was making me wanna hurl. At first I was eating EVERYTHING now it's like...one bite & ew.

Today was Casey's breakfast pizza, BLT & Pizza Ranch's Cactus bread. And Reese's of course.
  • @AnnaS930 they are most definitely better crispy out of the oven! Hope you enjoy them next week!!!

  • Ice cream bars. All of them. And fruits and veggies. Nothing heavy like pasta... blech
  • We have DoorDash in the bay area of California and it is a Godsend.

That being said, I eat whatever I crave. For lunch I had pizza. Then I went to buy some makeup and drove by a Korean restaurant so naturally craved that. Ended up with a crispy rice bowl with veggies and grilled shrimp.
Cravings vary every meal almost! My poor husband is left to scavenge in the fridge, haha. :)

Go to a populated plaza with many food options? Maybe something will sound good.
  • @StrappinArrow I was craving McD last week (which we never eat). I caved in and had nuggets and fries and felt uber gross after. Never caving in for that one again.
  • Cream of wheat with pecans mixed. A pickle and orange juice in the morning.
  • Give me all the carbs!!! I want nothing to do with fruits and veggies which is bad because I already have a tendency to gain weight really fast. Oh and milk!! I've been going through a gallon every 2-3 days by myself
  • Lots of toast!
  • Mint herb tea. It calms my stomach, wakes me up, and helps keep me hydrated.
    Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.
  • I really eat anything and everything in sight but this pregnancy and my last one have both been easier th
  • Well, this morning I had a glass of milk, a rice cake with peanut butter, a yogurt and half of a nectarine. I feel so bloated now but still hungry! Yesterday I ate 2 bowls of rice chex for breakfast, about 12 canned mini ravioli and a cup of apple juice for lunch and a double cheeseburger from McDonald's.

But none of this stuff sounded or even tasted good. I have no clue what to eat or make for the rest of the family.

I was on a salad kick for like, a week, but now I have 2 bags just sitting in the refrigerator and the thought of salad makes me so not hungry.
  • well i made it through dinner last night with my MIL hopefully not getting to suspicious....my husband made a smaller plate for me...and i had soy sauce with white rice and chicken...tried to pick at the veggies.  Didn't really eat much :-/ but it was decent.

I brought crab sushi for lunch...with soy sauce of course...hoping that sounds appetizing by lunch time

  • Today for lunch I had one of those mixed salad bags by Dole- this one was Sunflower Crunch.  I added chicken and some crispy jalapeño salad toppings and nearly ate the whole bag!  It tasted like absolute heaven.  I have been craving meat, veggies, and anything spicy, which I normally avoid.  Last pregnancy at this stage all I wanted was cantaloupe and watermelon.  I had some cantaloupe the other day and it totally turned me off.  So far this pregnancy my cravings have been totally different than last time.
  • @NashBelle i craved cantaloupe my last pregnancy as well...that was my staple go to dinner...this time i want salt...lots and lots of salt....last time i wanted sweets....really hoping this difference means a different gender :-)

  • Meat has been grossing me out the last few days. Like makes me gag grossing me out. My poor husband can't even cook it in the house without me losing my shit.

Toast with butter and jam has been my thing lately...so good I might have some now. Hmm...
  • I'm trying to be sensible.. but all I've been wanting are carbs, waffles and pizza. I try to get my fruits and veggies in, but my tummy wants carbs!! I'm hoping it will pass! I'm not normally like this.. I eat very healthy!

  • I'm soooo hungry but so nauseous I'm eating a whole bunch of nothing, which makes everything worse. Saltines and bananas are doable, and Lipton chicken noodle soup- that's been a lifesaver. Plus, even my husband can cook it, so win/win.

Otherwise, I have major food aversions to pretty much everything right now.
  • @frogdog06 We practically live off of DoorDash. YAY area peeps unite!
  • This thread is making me feel better. I really really try to eat healthy but sometimes I just can't... I have been eating so many crackers and toast and cheese. And not enough fruits and vegetables... I try to go for at least 3 servings a day but I know I should eat more.

The other day I caved in and had Popeye's chicken. I felt so gross after but it was worth it!!!

Oh and spicy hummus, a lot of spicy hummus.
