I am actually a photographer and do a lot of boudoir shoots...but no maternity boudoirs! I have a friend/colleague who recently turned her studio into boudoir only and specializes in maternity boudoir. She kept trying to convince me to do a shoot when she found out I was pregnant, and I had the same reaction (laughing at the idea). I just, personally, don't really feel like I should be looking all "come hither" while I am growing a child inside me--that is so weird.
Although, as I progress in the pregnancy, I can sort of see why some women do it. I am looking better than I have in probably 3 years (all my extra flab went right into belly and boobs!) and feel more confident. My husband thinks I'm extra sexy while pregnant, too. Plus, there is no telling WHAT sort of shape I'll be in after the baby comes, lol.
Still...I think I'll stick to a regular maternity session to look back on how awesome I looked...without being 'nekked.
I would never ever consider it because I consider all pictures mainly for my child and their memories. I *might* consider doing a plain maternity shoot if the photographer was amazing and the price was right. Last time I checked for the photographer I wanted it was $500.00 for a plain maternity session.
