Rant/Rave/Symptoms? My stupid pubic bone is already super achy and it's hard to walk. I wonder if a support band would help...
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing new
Questions? Nope
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? It's fun to give our kiddos fun surprises, but for DH and I, it's just another day. We try to be conscious of showing each other love and appreciation all year, and neither of us is a big gift-person, so...
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant...it's Monday. Enough said. Symptoms...RLP has been so bad lately. I'm feeling good right now, but later in the evening & at night I'm in so much pain.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Gestating. Nothing else today. Worked on the nursery all weekend so I'm taking a break this week.
Questions?
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? I'm kind of "meh" about it all. I will get DH a card & something small, & we will probably do dinner...but it's never been anything overly special for us.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: I'm already not getting good nights sleep between waking up to use the rest room 3 times a night and trying to lay on my left side. I usually end up rolling over on my back and it wakes me up or my whole left side aches from laying on it. I use a body pillow and am going to start putting a pillow behind my back so I cant roll onto my back. Hoping it helps.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Looking at car seats we like the Chico key fit 30 and now trying to figure out what stroller to go with it. I want to use a jogging stroller but it's only 100 dollars more to get the package car seat and stroller which comes with a regular stroller. So I thought about doing that and registering for a jogging stroller seperately since I'm a runner. I would like to run with the baby once she is a little older.
Questions? I'm a FTM so anyone else a STM on here who runs with their babies? What age did you start taking them with you and do they fuss a lot or enjoy it? Also what jogging stroller do you use.
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? Well my husband hasn't been home for a Valentine's Day in 3 years (he is military) we usually don't make a big deal out of it but since he will be home we will probably go out for a nice dinner.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: lots of people have off today for the holiday but I do not! Could've used an extra day to the weekend especially as it snowed last night (just a bit) but enough to make the cars need to be warmed up & scrapped ice off the windshields before work... how many days till Summer?! No new symptoms - just a lot of pain in my tailbone... I think its because the baby is so far back (anterior placenta) that the pressure is on my tailbone.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Registry research! Going to start it soon!
Questions? None today!
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? Our wedding venue hosts a Valentines weekend "King & Queens Ball" every Valentines weekend where couples from the last decade who've been married there are invited back to attend what is basically a wedding without a bride & groom, we get dressed up and get to enjoy our wedding venue... its always a wonderful celebration and I look forward to going every year! We also do small gifts/cards. I don't care if its a "Hallmark" holiday, any excuse to celebrate our relationship & love is good for me!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? The nausea is coming back, but it might just be because I'm trying really hard not the eat JUST carbs and real food is... not cooperating. Also headaches. Hopefully my chiropractor appointment today can fix that. And holy crap dry skin! All of the lotion in the world would not fix this!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I bought some maternity shirts and a belly band at Target this weekend. Turns out, they are the only store around us with an existing maternity section (aka. 2 racks of basics) that doesn't require me to go to the mall. Luckily, next weekend my 7-month pregnant SIL is coming to visit and we are headed to the Motherhood Maternity outlet! She can help me pick things that are practical since she's done this before and I can FINALLY get pants that don't squeeze my tiny tiny bump! I also added some stuff to our Target registry!
Questions? Don't think so...
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? DH and I usually do something simple like dinner and a movie (out or at home), so it's really just another excuse for a "date night". I think it's a nice idea to do something special for loved ones, but it's mostly turned into a commercial holiday (what holiday hasn't...).
Rant: DH was supposed to be off today, which would have been awesome because I don't have classes and DD1 has no school, either, so we'd actually all be home together (a rarity: he is a retail manager, so he works weekends when DD1 is home, and I have nursing classes on his two days off, so we almost never have a day where all 4 of us are home), but his boss begged him to work overtime, and we could use it, so... Rave: My BFF moved out of town about a year ago, and we don't get to see each other much, but she had a family event in town that she drove in for which wound up being cancelled, so she is coming here for the day instead! Symptoms: RLP, insomnia, and my hips are starting to hurt when I wake up. I can't believe how much earlier it all starts with baby #3!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Not much until after the anatomy scan. GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? We never really did too much other than maybe a nice dinner out, but now we don't even do that. Our wedding anniversary is 2/23, so we save the extra romance for that instead.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I feel pretty good these days besides still having this cold hanging around. @DeePaddy24 I am suffering with RLP too especially in the evenings.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing new to report Questions? Nope
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? I haven't really thought about it but I am flying out to Ireland with dd leaving dh alone on the actual day so I guess we can't be that romantic about it! lol. I will get him a card from dd but I think that is it. I have nothing against the day but we have enough expense on our hands right now without splashing out on anything big.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? @MamaNicoleof3 I hear you on the pelvic pain. I'm worried I'm not going to be able to run much anymore. I've also been getting mild pain down the back of my left leg from back to knee. So now I'm worried about sciatica.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Forcing myself to pick a paint color this week. So I'm checking the swatches in the room at different points in the day. Trying to get DH to give an opinion of any kind.
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? Hallmark. We don't acknowledge it in any way. When DD is older, we'll probably do a small gift. We don't really do candy at this age.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Not much to report today. It's Monday. I had some crazy RLP and pressure around my uterus yesterday. That was not fun.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Last night I practiced wrapping my Boba wrap. That was an adventure. I finally figured it out and then we put our pup in it. THAT was hilarious.
Questions? Nada.
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? We don't usually make a huge deal out of it -- we'll make a nice dinner or go out to a nice dinner and movie. DH proposed on Feb 12th, 2 years ago and our first "date" (we were in HS so I say date loosely. We played Wii bowling and watched Supertroopers, lol) was Feb 15th so we usually celebrate on one of those days to avoid the crowds. But I'm always down for a "date night" excuse!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I think I felt a kick last night. It may very well have been gas but I'm going to at least pretend that it was a baby kick because it was fairly low down and it makes me happy. I'm continuously shocked at how large my uterus is getting, conceptually I know it has to be as big as it is but actually feeling it and seeing it happen is absolutely mind boggling. #ftmproblems?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We got some paint samples yesterday and spent last night scrutinizing the wall with all sorts of light to see which of the 3 choices we liked. DH is set one one, I'm torn between it and a paler shade. I think we're going to end up going with the darker one. I'm just excited to get painting.
Questions? Nope!
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? We don't really do valentines day, we'll usually go out for a nice dinner some night other than vday, avoid the crazyness but still have a nice night out. I personally find flowers to be a huge waste of money since they die so fast and due to food allergies most vday chocolates are off the table for me and DH so that probably has something to do with it too.
@Sgoldberg247 I am with you on the flowers. I hate having to take care of them to keep them alive too and don't own a vase! Although, we baptized our dd last year on Valentines and DD had roses delivered to me. It was more a nice gesture on the day it was but otherwise I would kill him for spending money on flowers because I find them wasteful.
Ok update I guess I do have a question... *PREFACED WITH NO I AM NOT THROWING MY OWN SHOWER* but my mother asked when I would like to have it... I'm due June 24th... I didn't want to wait until June as I feel like I'll be uncomfortable/unhappy in anything I put on etc. I was thinking mid May - do you think that's too late? When are ya'll having yours (if you know)?
Questions? I'm a FTM so anyone else a STM on here who runs with their babies? What age did you start taking them with you and do they fuss a lot or enjoy it? Also what jogging stroller do you use.
DH and I take DD occasionally. We have a Schwinn we got for free from a friend & started around age 2. We had to wait because DD wasn't big enough for the straps. I dislike that my jogger has a fixed front wheel rather than the swivel option. It's not very easy to use.
This time I'm looking for something infant-friendly. Most everyone in my running group loves & recommends BOBs. As to the fussing vs enjoying... I think you'll find that all kids go through phases where they feel differently about it. For the most part DD loves it and always asks to go.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Everyone I work with is an idiot. Not baby-related, but so aggravating. Feeling okay, although still battling a sour stomach that is like Goldilocks--can't get too hungry, can't get too full.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing this week. Appointment tomorrow.
Questions? I'm struggling to stay hydrated. I feel like I am always drinking water but my urine has been darker than usual lately. Any tips?
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? I've given up on holidays because my husband is a Chef and always has to work so the rest of you can enjoy your sweethearts!
@Sgoldberg247 That's so exciting. I think I won't really feel pregnant until I feel the baby kick. I'm a FTM so I'm not really showing (plus I was heavy before I got pregnant so I just look the same-level of fat).
@ahernandez16 I hear you on the wraps, a friend of mine gave me one (not that brand) and she demonstrated it like eight times and I still feel clueless. I need to go to a class or something.
@hockeyfan42 I love decor! What colours are you picking between? I'm lazy and the room was already a neutral, so we've decided just to keep it the same colour.
@kballew10 I hear you on the real food. I've had so little vegetables over the past 3 months. Carbs are just so tasty! I don't want to give them up!
Sorry to everyone with pelvic pain -- I've had pretty minimal RLP so far but I know it's coming. I've also avoided heartburn mostly, so I'm sure my time is up for that too soon.
@MsBeachNJ Haha. It's both hilarious and sad that you need to preface that statement. I'm also wondering this because a lot of my friends (I'm in grad school) leave for the summer, so I'd like to have mine earlier if I get a choice in the matter. 32-36 weeks seems to be standard based on showers I've attended, but I would think anytime after 30 weeks is fine.
@catherinekate haha I personally don't care what people do with regard to hosting or planning their own - there are different norms in each social circle that a bunch of people on an internet board aren't going to have any insight into but I always see everyone get flamed so I just wanted to put it out there in advance! & save myself the drama
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rave: I'm feeling baby move a lot lately and love it! Baby just buzzes and flutters around a lot and the movements are getting stronger. Such a surreal feeling! Very excited about our upcoming A/S a week from today! Hubby is still on the fence about finding out the gender, but I want to. Hoping he makes up his mind soon. Symptoms: Congestion/sinus infection just won't go away. Hello pregnancy rhinitis! Starting to get lower back pain and stiffness. Didn't expect that already.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I've been working on transitioning my office into the baby's nursery. Working on a list of names too, but not making much progress in that arena.
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? I love Valentine's Day. DH and I don't do presents usually, but make it a point to go out for a romantic meal and spend time together. Sometimes we'll hit up a local coffee shop that does amazing chocolate fondue for dessert. Yum!!!!
I would say mid-may sounds great!
My mom is hosting mine in mid-April, but it's 5 hours away from us, so she wanted it to be earlier so that I could travel to it. My MIL is hosting one as well (since they're 7 hours away from my family) and she's doing it in mid-March so that both of my SILs, who are both due in April, can come.
Long story short - if either of them didn't have travel or other due dates to consider, May would be a completely reasonable option!
@MsBeachNJ due to scheduling (all my girlfriends are getting married within 3 months of each other) the only times I could have my shower were May 7th (Mother's Day weekend) or June 4th. I'm due June 18th and my mom picked June 4th- I am going to be huge!!! I may also be bringing the baby to the shower with me if I deliver before 38 weeks!
How far along are you? 18+2
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? MD appt this am- HB was 150
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Starting to work on the nursery! Feels good to start nesting!
Questions? Nope.
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? I like Valentines Day! We usually go out to dinner- I always get H candy, new socks & underwear, he gets me chocolate and a Starbucks gift card.
@catherinekate I am obsessed with neutrals! This room gets only indirect light after 12pm. The top two are my front runners, but DH thinks they look no different than the existing builder beige color. I want the room to be light and airy, but more of a warm gray beige than a peach-y beige. If that makes sense...DH apparently wants a bat cave.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: DH and I are steelers fans and he got us tickets to the game yesterday. He got SO DRUNK and couldn't walk in a straight line on the 20 block walk back to our car. Not to mention he kept threatening to stop and fight with people who were being assholes. and the sidewalk was icy and I kept slipping. Basically I just got super stressed trying to babysit him and find the way back to the car at the same time and burst into tears. I'm sure people we walked past just thought I was unreasonably upset about the steelers losing. Rave: Now I don't have to worry about DH spending an absurd amount of money to go to the AFC championship game in new england. Symptoms: Had a sneezing fit last night and totally peed my pants. It was just an awesome ending to an awesome (read sarcasm) day.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Probably scheduling salvation army or someone to come pick up the current bedroom furniture we have in the nursery-to-be so I can start thinking paint. Anyone have a particular brand of paint they use for nurseries? I've heard there are some that are better for that kind of thing because they remove some of the toxins but that could just be nonsense?
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? I'm a fan. My DH hates it, but he usually cooperates. We sometimes write each other love letters and it is the one day of the year where he has actually tried to cook for me - even if this usually ends with me having 8 billion dishes to do.
@hockeyfan42 I was just going to say that I love the top two the best. Men have no appreciation for neutrals! My husband didn't even realize that all our trim in this house was beige when we bought it until I pointed it out. And now that we've repainted it white, he thinks it looks the same.
@MsBeachNJ I'm with you on the anterior placenta and tailbone pain . My whole back aches too it's awful! Baths help my back/tailbone pain a lot.
@hockeyfan42 I was hoping to start taking her earlier then 2 my husband works long hours by the time he gets home to stay with her it would be dark out. Definitely looking for infant friendly jogging strollers. Thanks for the info!
@hockeyfan42 I was just going to say that I love the top two the best. Men have no appreciation for neutrals! My husband didn't even realize that all our trim in this house was beige when we bought it until I pointed it out. And now that we've repainted it white, he thinks it looks the same.
Pretty sure every room in our house would be green if DH picked. And all trim would be dark stained wood. With espresso or black furniture. how funny that your husband didn't notice! Beige to white trim would make a huge difference!
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@catherinekate it took DH and us both wrapping it around me like 4 times before it even looked like the picture in the instruction book and even then, there was no support at the bottom so I'm sure an actual baby would not be able to be held hands free. Good thing I have a few months to figure it out.
@MsBeachNJ I feel you on working today. A Monday holiday would have been nice. I'm just like, if the bank is closed, why the flip does an insurance office have to be open? DH is off too, so the fact that I know he's still in bed makes me a little bitter.
@chelseay416 - Been there, done that - minus the ice because it was in Arizona. Wasn't pregnant (so no tears), but I was so so so angry. You are totally justified and strangers can just suck it. I would say "Sorry about the Steelers", but I'm a Browns fan and I am mostly glad to see them go down. Small consolation - at least your team makes it to the playoffs... ever.
How far along are you: 17+5 (I had to double check because I keep forgetting what day of the week it is)
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Just had our anatomy scan today and it was such a relief to see baby and see all of the progress and to hear it was healthy and moving and happy. I have an anterior placenta but still feel as though I've been feeling small movements internally. Will just have to wait for awhile to feel them external now. Also, being team green can be tough some times! A bigger portion of me is excited for the surprise, but there is still part of me slightly dying to know. Still having sciatic nerve issues and hip/groin pain but it is tolerable with a heating pad. Also learned my cervix is apparently super long, so going to do some research (Google here I come) on what that might mean for L&D.
What are you doing to prepare for baby: We went out after the scan and bought a cute outfit. First time in this pregnancy I have felt super excited and confident to buy something. We are also slowly working on a baby registry list to keep track of things we want/need to buy and cleaning out room in the spare bedroom for an eventual nursery.
GTKY: Valentines Day: I could take it or leave it. We don't exchange gifts but I do like the candy available.
Super late today! Thanks for starting today's check-in @MamaNicoleof3
How far along are you? 19+2
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I thought I was feeling flutters for a while, but now I haven't felt them for a few days, so I'm not so sure. I do have the worst RLP that I've had so far. I'm sure it's bound to get worse, but man I feel like my groin area is constantly under pressure and it hurts.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Starting to research the big ticket items - like strollers, car seats, etc
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? Eh, I'm indifferent. DH and I don't really go out of our way to celebrate or do gifts, but we have no problem using it as an excuse to go out for dinner or have another date. Last year we went to an all day beer festival. It was awesome. This year we may just do a big ol' steak dinner with lots of banging afterwards.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Just some heartburn/indigestion after eating on occasion. I'm obsessed with feeling the baby kick now and stop what I'm doing whenever I think I feel something. Most the time I only get 1-2 kicks at a time so by the time I notice it, it's already over.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Today we found a house to rent that we really like, so we'll be filling out an application and hopefully moving within the next month!
Questions? None today.
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? We're pretty indifferent as well. We usually avoid going out to dinner, but we'll make one of our favorite meals at home. Any excuse to buy some chocolate or a small gift is a fun one!
@mrsschmity I thought I had felt baby, too...but since it hasn't happened for over a week & I was only 16wks, I'm now second guessing it. I'm getting anxious over here waiting!
@DeePaddy24 I hear you on the Monday... @MsBeachNJ That sounds like a wonderful time to spend on Valentine's Day. I hope your pain eases soon. I'm ready for spring in Michigan too! We are thinking middle of May for a shower, we are due 6/25. @ahernandez16 Pictures of the Moby or it didn't happen! @laurenm2123 I love your positive attitude about possibly bringing baby to the shower! Hopefully it'll keep cooking though!
How far along are you? 17+2
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: Today has been hell at work. We are SO short staffed it's ridiculous. I'm hoping to get my new staff trained quickly and hope they can handle it.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Lots, I've already posted a little in previous posts so I won't double up.
Questions? none
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? We will probably make a nice dinner at home. DH normally gets me a Hershey bar, I'm easy lol.
Edited because we are 17+2 not 15+2...adoption brain??

Rave: because it'll be nice to just move on from her and her drama!
I've also really started feeling the RLP which, ouch! My back is also killing me but I'm trying a pregnancy chiropractor on Wednesday to see if I like her practices and to see if it helps!
Also, the irritability...I feel so bad for DH as he gets the brunt of it in the evenings when I can finally switch out of work mode.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Registry research....there are so many options for everything!!
Questions?
GTKY: With Valentine's Day coming up soon, are you a fan or think it's just a Hallmark holiday? Neither of us really pay attention to it. My best friend is single and her mom is divorced and single so I usually just join their ladies night and DH does something with the guys. Although I'm sure we'll go on a date night "just because" right around then!
@Jerseygirl9090, you need to wait until baby is 6-9 months to start jogging with them. They need to have really good head control to be able to handle the bumps and roughness of the jogging. We have the Gracco jogging stroller. It was in our budget and it was the only one of the less expensive ones we looked at where the sun shade didn't attach in a way that would pinch fingers.
@Kballew10--go Browns!!! It's s tough team to support most years, but we've just got to keep hoping for a turn around.
I'm 19+3
Rant--my knee is killing me (I've had a history of issues with it) and the only thing I can take that ever makes it feel better is Aleve, which I can't take right now. Also heartburn--the weirdest things give it to me right now. Ex--I had a banana for breakfast and got horrible heartburn from it.
Rave--it's going to be s really busy week, but it's a good busy.
Not really doing anything right now to prepare for baby.
GTKY--I'm indifferent on the holiday. We will probably go out for dinner some night around it and exchange cards, but that about it.
@ahernandez16 I love it!! That's hilarious. Announcing to the rest of the family went really well. We all met at my parents and they made a nice dinner for us. My sisters and BIL are really happy for us. They were already talking about shower plans. They wanted to know what the sex was and the theme. My one sister and BIL already knew what we were going to tell, that we were expecting but they didn't know how. All in all, it went well. I was really anxious and glad it's over and out. Thanks for asking!

I'm a FTM so anyone else a STM on here who runs with their babies? What age did you start taking them with you and do they fuss a lot or enjoy it? Also what jogging stroller do you use?
QBF
Yep! I started running with DS when he was about 6 months. I waited for good head control (pedi said it was ok), and decent weather. His enjoyment depended on his age and how far I went. I could go farther (5+miles) when he was younger. He would get bored when he was older as he wanted to get out and move. So I did shorter runs and try to stop at a park towards the end. A few times it was the only way I could get him to take a nap. The sleeping was bad sometimes, too, as I'd have to wait for him to finish napping or wake him up as he didn't transfer well.
I loved it as I got out of the house, did something productive, and was outside. I'm a SAHM.
I bought a used Bob off craigslist and it's been awesome. I like that the front wheel is fixed or swivel. I usual do swivel when in the neighborhood because of all the turns and it's not as fast. Fixed for the trails.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

How far along are you? 19 weeks and 5 days
Nothing new to report
Questions?
@HiveFive16 Jealous! Enjoy your trip.

Yum!!!!
Baby #2 Due 3/7/20
20 weeks today
@hockeyfan42 I was hoping to start taking her earlier then 2 my husband works long hours by the time he gets home to stay with her it would be dark out. Definitely looking for infant friendly jogging strollers. Thanks for the info!
@MsBeachNJ I feel you on working today. A Monday holiday would have been nice. I'm just like, if the bank is closed, why the flip does an insurance office have to be open? DH is off too, so the fact that I know he's still in bed makes me a little bitter.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms?
Rant/Rave: My irritating associate randomly put her two weeks in today...Rant: because this puts my students and other fabulous ladies in a tough spot for the next month or so as we deal with subs and a new hire...
