Dropping

Hey there! So I think my little guy is starting to drop (one of my coworkers is VERY sure that he is, and I think she's right!) and I wanted to see if anyone else is  I have an appointment later today, so we'll see for sure what he's up to in there!

I'm actually starting to feel like he could be here soon, which is really cool. I had been feeling like he was just content to stay put and cook, but now it feels like maybe I'll meet him soon! That being said, I'm getting a little anxious because of those feelings - I have no idea what to expect! How are the rest of you doing now that we're so close?
Right now I'm at 37w1d and I myself was 3 weeks early when I was born, so I've been preparing myself for if he decides to come sooner than later (also preparing mentally for if he's later than sooner lol)

Re: Dropping

  • Mine dropped last Monday. I knew because I could no longer see my belly button and walking became incredibly difficult. At my ultrasound Wednesday they confirmed he's head down, face back.

  • my LO keeps bobbing up and down in there. I can tell when she's low because the pressure is INSANE. ultrasound last week confirmed she is head down and low but not engaged. I know that she gets lower than she was at the time based on the pelvis pressure.

  • I figured mine dropped about a week ago because I felt more "lightning crotch" and sciatic nerve pains, then it was confirmed at my dr appt that he is head down finally! Also the fact that I can eat more than a clementine in a day I figure my stomach has been given a slight breather lol.
  • I feel like mine has been "dropped" since week 30. She is sooo low and head down and engaged already at 35 weeks. The ultrasound tech last week couldn't even get a look at my cervix because she was so low. I feel like she could fall out at any second which makes me have this awesome waddle.

  • We had an u/s beginning of December and at that point he was head down, facing back.

Ever since then I can really tell when he's bouncing on a nerve.
  • I can't tell for sure, but suddenly (knock on wood), my 24/7 heartburn has gone away and I feel like I have to pee more often. My waddle has also gotten worse.  I heard those are signs of her dropping, so hopefully!
  • I think my little guy pretty much set up camp in my pelvis from the get go. He has been low from the start and head down and engaged since my 28 week appointment. My appointment on Wednesday confirmed that he is in perfect position and ready to come out. My midwife basically told me if I have anything to get done, I had better do it this weekend!

  • I'm definitely not trying to be a Debbie Downer b/c anything can happen for sure, but with #2 DS was all kinds of low and at 35 weeks my doctor predicted that I wouldn't make it to Christmas (my due date was Jan. 6th).  Christmas came and went, and I was kind of annoyed b/c i didn't have a baby here yet.  He was born on Jan. 1st so still early, but just from experience don't get your hopes up too high.  Baby does what baby wants.  darn babies...

  • My LO head has been down since about week 32 I'm currently 36+5 days. I can tell because as you said the lighting crotch is insane, along with the urgent need to use the restroom ALL THE TIME, I've been walking and trying to stay fairly active since I am currently on leave so I feel it more during my walks with my doggie.
  • A co-worker commented the other day that I was waddling a lot more this week than last week. Doctor confirmed his head is down and right at the cervix. I'm 37 weeks today, feeling very anxious! I think it's the fear of the unknown ano not knowing what to really expect.
  • I'll be 36 weeks this Sunday and I think DD dropped. There's a ton of pressure down there! My midwife said, "No wonder your hips hurt! She's really low!"

  • It literally felt like he dropped yesterday when I stood up. But I have such a short torso that I feel him in my ribs and like he's trying break out the bottom at the same time.

I'm having the same feelings. I was wondering if there really is a "drop" for shorter people. Most people notice it in their looks too so I heard, I have seen little changes, but she's down and ready to be free whenever and stil kicking really high. It confuses me. My belly
Button is much farther away than before, that's my only guess. It's been hard to Walk for a long time with her.
  • I dropped Wednesday quite significantly. I am 36+1.
