I'm in the same boat - 22+5, anterior placenta, and really haven't felt anything. Really hope it starts soon - the lack of feeling anything is really starting to freak me out.
STM and was surprised to learn today that I have an anterior placenta since this is my third trip back because the first two anatomy scans couldn't get clear pictures of the heart.
I've felt movement for a few weeks (I'm almost 22+5) and I'd always thought an AP meant I wouldn't feel it, but I have to say the second time around I knew what to expect and could definitely discern movement better than in my first pregnancy without an AP.
23 weeks and I'm still waiting for clear, firm movement. I've definitely felt some, but it's so faint, and not very certain. I always think it might be gas!
Ok, I said this, but then last night there was a party happening in my uterus. Definitely not gas! So hang in there, ladies, it'll happen!

Ha it's funny. I've been the same way. It's just still not super consistent. But sometimes they almost make me sea sick with all their wiggling!
I'm in the anterior placenta club. Last night I felt some wiggling so I lightly pressed on my belly to see if I could feel more (either inside or outside) then felt a crazy stabby pain that went away quickly. I think baby and I smooshed the placenta? I don't think I will be pressing on my belly anymore
During the 20-week US, I KNOW he was moving around a ton because the sonographer kept saying so. But I didn't feel anything! That being said, I suppose I feel the faintest of wiggles. I can only assume they are kicks. But I have to be REALLY concentrating to notice them.
I have an anterior placenta and am 22+4 today. Just in the past few days I've been able to truly notice movement. It's not how I thought it would feel. The kicks feel pretty much like kicks, but I often feel when he's rolling I guess? And it feels like I'm going over a roller coaster. It's very strange! But I still love it and can't wait for my H to be able to feel them.
23 weeks and just started feeling movement in the past 24 hours! Mostly flips, but also definitely some tap dancing on my cervix which feels super weird and makes it hard to keep a straight face in meetings.
20 week FTM with an anterior placenta, as confirmed by the ultrasound tech yesterday. Boo! I think I've felt a little movement, but not sure. Doctor assured me it's coming soon!

Thanks for posting this. Its reassuring knowing the movement is coming for us AP mom's who haven't had the joy of feeling anything yet.
I too have an anterior placenta. FTM 19 weeks 3 days and finally felt legitimate movement today!!! I've been lurking on this thread for some hope for a bit now and I was kind of freaking out as I hadnt felt him move in a while and any time i felt him move before it was barely and it always took maipulating and be very still/ lying on my side or stomach and it was rare! But he just started moving like crazy while I am simply sitting with my feet up right now. I'm over the moon if you couldn't tell haha hang in there ladies!!! It feels really high up though like underneath my belly button.... I've read that my uterus shouldn't be that high yet? I am short though only 5'2" (maybe 3")... should I worry about that? I assume not? its definitely baby! Okay rant over.... Just had to share with you ladies. Can't wait for you all to feel your precious babies!!
I have anterior placenta also but have been feeling consistent movement since 18 weeks. Hard enough for my husband to feel. My doctor was surprised that I was able to feel anything but later said, "You have the most active baby I've ever seen!" She's breech so she kicks me really hard in one spot all the time. I'm really in for it!
I'm 23+3 and I've finally felt some movement in the last 2 days. At first I thought it was gas so I pressed on the area and she kicked me back! So awesome it's such a huge relief to feel it and the funniest sensation. Always catches me a little off guard and makes me smile. I must look like pretty silly just randomly smiling to myself!!

Was that the first time at 23? I'm 22 with zero movement ...

23 weeks was the first time I felt something I was *sure* was movement. It's likely that some of what you pass off as gas or digestion, is probably baby. I think it's disconcerting because your insides are moving around, you're feeling different things in different places. Now that I know what it feels like, I've probably felt movement since week 19 or 20, I just didn't realize it at the time.

Yes it was. It seems a bit crazy now that I think about it because it's so obvious now...but I still wouldn't be confident enough to say I was definitely feeling things before this, and it's very likely I wasn't feeling anything. It'll happen for you too soon and you'll feel just as amazed. Hang in there!!
My movements are all very low, that's how I was able to tell it wasn't from gas or digestion since most of my 'guts' in lack of better terms are shifted upwards and I know where I feel my normal body/stomach movements, etc. Seems like chances are if you're feeling these little movements very low like below the belly button then its baby. BUT everyone is different so what may be for some is not always the case for all.
What do you all describe the movements as right now since baby is still little and barely kicking through the placenta? I've had a few different sensations. The first started as what I would say felt like bubbles which I still feel time to time. Yesterday it felt like little taps but on my bladder because every time she did it I felt I had to pee, lol. I've also felt one or two little rolling or flip feelings and today its back to tiny little kicks or taps at random places. Can't wait to feel more and frequent.
The best way I can describe it is POPS. It happens in a sudden way, almost like what it would feel like if there was popcorn popping in your uterus, popping and bopping against you.

I never thought of it that way but you are right! That's a good comparison. Better than my bubbles. My SO was like.. what the heck does a bubble feel like? Lol... I don't know... grow a baby and you tell me!
Mine don't feel like bubbles or pops. They're way low down and feel like... well... "ka-thunk" for lack of a better description. Except for yesterday when she was kicking me in the cervix, which was even weirder feeling.
Now I'm questioning whether what I'm feeling is movement or just gas. It's so intermittent. And I've been SO gassy.
LOL. I am right there with you. I felt all sorts of rumbling this past weekend, wasn't sure if it was the baby or the burritos. Still dying to feel a kick!
@wsgjmw1@goatsnakemoose For me, all my 'gas' and belly growls now come from a lot higher than they used to.. but when I first started feeling the baby move I shrugged it off has the typical gas and bodily functions, etc. So next time if you feel it low that may be baby moving. When my LO moves I feel is very low.. like almost even below my bump which is odd but last time she was breech so maybe its her little feet kicking and moving down there. Mine are also still very inconsistent. Some days I feel a lot.. the next I hardly feel any.
It does feel like gas bubbles rumbling around in there, but I can tell the difference because with gas I usually get accompanying cramps around that time, and baby movements don't come with gas cramps. Plus, like @kp90 said, the positioning is different. Baby movements often come either really high (right around my belly button), really low (right around the pubic bone), or weirdly off to the side where I'd never get gas cramps even with everything being sort of jumbled around right now.
It's a very similar sensation though. Only the circumstances and placement are different for me.
Last night she was finally active again when my SO came home.. after I went to bed and was laying there she was moving a lot again so I put my hand on my lower left side and could actually feel her on my hand. It was so amazing after waiting all this time due to my A/P. I wanted to yell for SO but I was afraid she would stop. It made me so happy I wanted to cry... sorry, couldn't help it. I really hope her movements continue like that. Anyone else able to feel it from the outside with A/P?
@kp90 my DH felt baby for the first time the other night! He's been so impatient and it was 1am and I grabbed his hand and he got wide eyed and looked at me like "was that it??". The front is harder for him to feel and has to be very concentrated, but those side ones there is no denying.
@kennedy0830 That's awesome! Yeah maybe the sides are a lot thinner for them to kick and punch through. I guess that would make sense. Hopefully she kicks over there again tonight!
