WTF Wednesday

Re: WTF Wednesday

  • @LilLambie What about talking to your primary care physician or OB since July is a long way off? I also have epilepsy and have discussed in length with my doctor the effects my medication could have. I just find it nice to know what our plans will be for when the baby comes (knowing also our strategy may have to change based on how my body reacts as well). Of course what is most important in the end is everyone is happy, healthy and fed however it is that you get there.

  • WTF, Pamela Druckerman? I started reading Bringing up Bébé based on a few recommendations. My overly-hormonal ass could not handle the following sentence:
"After years of dieting to slim down, it’s thrilling to be “dieting” to gain weight. It feels like a reward for having spent years thin enough to nab a husband."
I threw the book across the room while shouting a big, "FUCK YOU, SKINNY BITCH!" I'm pretty sure all body types "nab" husbands.

Aww boo. I bought Bringing Up Bebe but haven't read it yet, now I wonder if I'm going to be yelling at it half the time. Is any of it any good or should I skip it altogether?

I LOVED this book and I've read it a few times. Stick with it.
  • Wtf face wash I haven't used you in awhile I get that but I shouldn't feel like I got a chemical burn after using you! It's benzoyl peroxide which I've read is safe wondering if maybe my dry face had something to do with it but it's been breaking or so bad I had to do something ugh! Wtf
I get that reaction to anything with "benz" ingredients. Try CeraVe cleanser. It works for me (normally) and is way gentler. However, I think there's so much going on with our hormones that we may be fighting a losing battle until July. LOL!

Make sure you're still using a really good, thick moisturizer on top. I've gathered you live in a very cold climate, so I'm sure between cold/wind exposure, pregnancy hormones, and using a product you haven't used in awhile, your skin is a little sensitive right now.
  • A day late for WTF wednesday but deserves a WTF. We just had to put my family dog down. My dad texted this morning that he wasn't looking good and it was time (we knew it was coming for awhile), I drove the hour to my parents' place, my brother came over and a couple hours later the 4 of us took him to the vet. We got him when I was 12 and he was my baby. It just sucks. It was time and all that, but it really really sucks. DH and I put our cat down 6 months ago and this is just too soon to do this again. My family is a wreck and I'm staying at my parents place tonight because I don't want them to be alone in the house (and I'd just be alone at my house anyway) but no one really knows what to do with themselves. I'd kill to be able to get drunk right now.

I'm so sorry for your loss. <3
  • @jennyleigh16 so sorry for your loss...animal losses are like losing a family member
  • @jennyleigh16 I'm so sorry to hear this!

  • @jennyleigh16 So sorry about the loss of your fur baby. :( It sounds like he had a long life, was very well loved, and was surrounded by family when he crossed the rainbow bridge. That's all a dog could ever ask for! Still, losing a pet is losing a family member, so I'm glad you can be with your family as you grieve.
  • @jennyleigh16 I am so sorry for you loss! That has to be the hardest part of being a pet owner. My dog is 4 and I think about how hard it will be when she is gone all the time.

  • Thanks guys. You know when you first get a pet that you're eventually going to end up here, and he was 14, had a (relatively in canine years) long and spoiled life, and we knew it was coming for a couple months....but none of that makes it any easier. You're never ready. He was most definitely a member of the family, and it hurts, but it's for the best.
  • @jennyleigh16 I'm so so sorry!! Dogs are such a beautiful part of family. My heart goes out to you as you grieve!
  • @jennyleigh16 So sorry for your loss! Losing our furry family members is hard, even when we know it's coming.

    You read my mind!!! Lol.
  • WTH I can't even with my MIL and her intrusive opinions. She hates everything we decide!
  • WTF cramps/Braxton hicks/whatever the hell it is. I'm miserable. I'm only 16 weeks and never had this happen so early. These next couple months are going to suck.
  • @juliagulia38 What an impatient baby! Maybe this means he or she will come right on time!? :)

@Nerdchild haha yeah hopefully she'll come early. This is my third and my other two were early. Usually around 26 weeks I go to triage and get meds to stop contractions. Fun times.

Edit: to clarify, I had DS at 39 weeks and DD at 36 1/2 weeks.
  • Yikes @juliagulia38 Well hopefully this go around is a little easier on you!

I have you beat. There is no way your MIL is as bad as mine. :*

I feel like I already like your MIL a lot. Also, why are you still here?
