Feeling movements?

I am not sure if this is even possible but I am 10w 1d with my second baby and I swear I can feel movement already! I felt my first baby pretty early at 15w and was told by the Dr that my placenta was behind baby and that is why I was feeling her sooner than most. I know baby is still tiny bit it is definitely a different feeling. Anyone experienced this?

Re: Feeling movements?

  • I'm 10w2d and felt a few little flutters last night, but brushed them off as most likely gas. I felt my DD move pretty early too (can't remember exactly when but I remember it was way earlier than most first time mamas). Baby is still pretty tiny at this point, but I guess you never know!

  • I doubt it as your uterus isn't even past your pubic bone yet.

  • Pretty sure my doctor said there was no way I could feel any type of movement before 16 weeks. It would be sooner for a STM, but I don't think that much sooner...

  • I personally think it's possible.  I felt baby #1 at 16 weeks, and I'm also 10w and I SWEAR I felt the tiniest movement right in the front close to where my c-section scar is, so super low.  As STMs we know what to feel for this time.  I bet with baby #1 I felt flutters but thought it was gas, this time I think I'll have a better handle on telling the difference between the two.  Exciting!!

  • I felt my first at 13w 3d. I'm wondering how early it will be this time around. I apparently have a really prominent uterus as the midwife was surprised when she easily felt it over my abdomen at just barely 9 weeks. (I could feel a hard softball size lump pushing out my lower abdomen above my pubic bone at 8 weeks when most women dont have that happen until after 12 weeks). She said size and placement wise it reminded her of a 12 week uterus. I think being short everything is shoved outward earlier as I'm only 4'11" and I feel it quicker.

  • I felt my first at 17 weeks.  I am now 10 weeks 1 day and I swear I have felt some flutters.  However, I really think its too soon and will be going with 'it is just gas' haha!
  • smilormarie Yup!  I have that too, I was able to feel my fundus around 8w, as well - it was slight, but definitely there.  I, however, am not short, I'm 5'10", so I think we're all just built differently

  • It's exciting to think that in a matter of just few more weeks, I get to feel my little peanut! #FTM I personally think it's gas because I felt something too this past week (almost 12 weeks) but baby is still sitting low and small. I'm looking forward to the obvious movements and all!
  • I'm thinking more gas even though several women seem to be experiencing the same thing. 10 weeks seems really early to feel movement though.
