Re: WTF Wednesday

  • This cold that transformed over night into this flu like monster. What good is the shot if I'm not 100% healthy all the damn time. Wtf modern science.

  • echoing a sentiment found in another thread WTF to people that repost YOUR news? No, you don't need to make my baby announcement your Cover Photo, FIL! I keep my sh*t locked down and you don't! He also will accept literally ANYONE'S friend request which scares me. My DH has a very public job, FIL shares lots of articles about him on FB, and it wouldn't take much for people to locate us. DH thinks I'm crazy (he calls me "Miss Worst Case Scenario"). But FIL, a huge liberal, engages in nasty FB fights constantly with his ultra-conservative "friends" (people he does not know in real life) and I don't know if any of them are crazy or what! I may be a paranoid Mama Bear but I want to make sure my family is safe.

DH and I are both heavy social media users so it's hard for me to decide what to do. We've moved around A LOT and have friends all over the country. But I find myself getting annoyed with FB lately.
  • WTF MIL. No. My 11 month old does not need cow's milk and sugar on top of her banana. Good grief.
seriously. Who does that as an adult? Nevermind for a child <1 year old?!?
  • Wtf hormones. The roomie moved out this morning and I have all of the tears.

YES! This drives me up an MF'in wall. At times I think fab should have an age limit or a competency exam or something! Being 10.5 hours away from everyone I grew up with, it would be hard for me to cut out Facebook, but MIL adds people from games and has known sex offenders on her friends list. No, I do not want pictures of my children on there!

  • My hubby has been an ass the past few days. Really getting on my nerves.
  • WTF people at work. You expect me to believe you all just "knew" what sex your baby was going to be, and that you were so stubborn about it you just bought stuff for that gender without even confirming? What is that a stab at me because I don't get sex or gender vibes?

Seriously though I just want to hear ONE story about how someone was SO sure they were having X and ended up with Y. Or am I the only one with no intuition and lack of belief in the not-so-solid old wives tales?

I informed MIL that the banana had enough sugar that Jesus put in it and she didn't need any extra. ;)

I was SURE my first was a boy. I just knew. I could not have been more wrong, so don't worry!

@ninji15 We were Team Green with #1. I also was *sure* I was having a boy (even went to the hospital with blue polish)... and we brought a beautiful baby girl home :)
  • @ninji. I swore my first was a girl. I was right.
I knew that my 2nd was a boy. Like 10000% sure. Well #2 is wearing a tutu and a tiara.
    A
And she is dancing right now.
    Thank God for Raid.

ninji15 when my mom was pregnant with my youngest sibling she was SURE it was a girl. Only picked out girl's names, only brought girl's clothes to the hospital. She definitely came home with another brother for me.

ETA: I keep bringing this up every time she says she knows FOR SURE that I'm having a girl (because heartbeat). She's not trying to hear it, surprise.

  • I am loving these responses! I thought the "for SURE" attitude was a bit far fetched, at least in some cases.  Glad I am not missing any mom-like-spidey-senses.
  • WTF headache?! Woke up 4 times last night with a pounding headache and it hasn't let up all day. Tylenol isn't touching it. Aren't headaches in pregnancy the cruelest of all jokes? Here's this terrible headache and oh guess what?! You can't take anything that will help
  • Wtf social security office. You're only open until noon today?! Geeze I wish my work hours were that awesome.
  • I went home for lunch so that I could pick up my rx from walgreens and grab my workout clothes so I could go to Barre class right from work... went home and left without even thinking about grabbing my gym bag...

  • @kcossey528 lmao. I have to hear the update on this one when the time comes.
  • @PinkLady2015 ooh. I'm an avid bar method student myself. It's my favorite workout of all time. I'm lucky that my morning sickness was pretty mild and I've been able to mostly keep up with classes.

My mother got me this shirt. I'm going to wear it once little bits is more obvious.
  • @natinat6 Ahhh I love it!!!! I have seriously considered getting a shirt like that to wear to my workout studio. I've been going there for a year and a half and haven't told any of the teachers or regs that I'm pregnant and I'm wondering if they're looking at me like "what the shit happened to her?! she used to be in shape!"

    Yes, this.

Because I am evil, I wish them a girl.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Ugh, when I got home today we had two newspapers in our yard (long story - short version is that we don't subscribe but the papers keep ending up in the yard). I went to put them in the recycling because it's supposed to rain tonight and step in a huge pile of dog shit. Spoiler alert - we don't own a dog. There are several dog owners that walk their dogs on our street and lately they've been lazy about picking up their dog crap and now it's in my yard. I am so pissed off!

  • WhyTF is the air conditioning coming on in January? WHY? And can I switch cubes with whoever is so hot that we need AC in the middle of winter, so that I don't have to deal with the cold air vent blowing straight down on my head? WTF.
  • WTF, Pamela Druckerman? I started reading Bringing up Bébé based on a few recommendations. My overly-hormonal ass could not handle the following sentence:
"After years of dieting to slim down, it’s thrilling to be “dieting” to gain weight. It feels like a reward for having spent years thin enough to nab a husband."
I threw the book across the room while shouting a big, "FUCK YOU, SKINNY BITCH!" I'm pretty sure all body types "nab" husbands.

Aww boo. I bought Bringing Up Bebe but haven't read it yet, now I wonder if I'm going to be yelling at it half the time. Is any of it any good or should I skip it altogether?
  • @jennyleigh16  @randypluskate There were some serious eye roll moments and a lot of sweeping generalizations, but overall I liked it. There were some really interesting parenting insights that I took away, and that made up for a lot of the wtf moments.

    OH, HELLLLLLLLL NO.

I was thinking of picking it up, as I've gotten a few good recommendations as well. Guess my fat, married ass can take that off the to-read list.
  • Just found out the eye drops I take for my glaucoma can cross the placenta and depress my baby's nervous system. My ob doesn't seem concerned about it now, but needs to talk to my eye doc about stopping them a month before I deliver. Then, I might not be able to breastfeed because the meds can also get into my milk. I'm hoping my doc can find another treatment plan for me that's safe for the baby, but otherwise I'll need to prioritize my eyes and formula feed (which besides not having the health benefits we were hoping for, will be a lot more expensive than we were planning on.) I guess as long as my baby is healthy and well fed, it will all work out, but I'm super bummed.
  • I also didn't win powerball :(
  • My husband and I were laughing about something which turns into me laughing/crying all at once and then the tears and congestion made me start coughing and then I threw up.

What the eff is going on in my body. I have done this laugh & cry at the same time too frequently and I think it's starting to scare my husband.

WTF Hormones are making me SUCH a strange person!
  • @marowan I'm in a similar boat. Unsure atm if I will be able to breastfeed due to my epilepsy medication. It can pass to lo and make them drowsy. I still have to talk to my neurologist what exactly that means, but I don't have an appointment until the beginning of July. I suppose that doesn't matter as long as I don't deliever early.

Little boy due July 31st 2016

  • Wtf face wash I haven't used you in awhile I get that but I shouldn't feel like I got a chemical burn after using you! It's benzoyl peroxide which I've read is safe wondering if maybe my dry face had something to do with it but it's been breaking or so bad I had to do something ugh! Wtf
