comfortable post partum clothes

I'm looking for some clothes that will be comfortable those first few weeks when I'm not going out much but don't want to wear Dh's tees and look like a complete slob. Anyone have favorite long sleeved tees, zip up hoodies, pajama or workout pants that are comfortable but halfway cute you can recommend?

Re: comfortable post partum clothes

  • Yoga pants were my BFFs after my older two and will be again. I also wore a lot of nursing tanks layered under zip up hoodies. I like the Champion brand from Target and Old Navy's athletic line. Bonus that both are very affordable and on sale now!

  • Yoga pants and maternity clothes are what I wear until I fit back in my regular clothes. Shirts and sweaters I started to fit in earlier than pants.

  • I've worn these yoga pants almost every day for 2 weeks. The fold over style is so comfortable for post partum belly/c section incision https://m.target.com/p/yoga-pant-mossimo-supply-co/-/A-15726403

Loose, flowy, stretchy tops that flow away at the chest area- I wish I had more of these. Most of my pre pregnancy no longer fit once my milk came in.
Example- this is great paired with a nursing bra and scarf. I can just throw baby under and she had plenty of room to eat! https://www.shopimpressions.com/products/piko-short-sleeve-tee-in-watermelon
  • @hailees this has been mentioned before and it's what I did with my boys. If you have a CS use a maxi pad against your scar, put the sticky side on the pants. It feels so much better!

  • Since I've been going through the ever so wonderful sweats since having the baby, I'm living in nursing tanks and basketball shorts. If on the off chance I do get cold, I have fleece leggings/pants (cuddle duds) and zip up hoodies. In either attire, I'm comfy and relatively decent in case visitors stop by unannounced.

TIL the term "cuddle duds" Love it!

It's an actual brand! Kohl's carries it. They make super comfy casual and lounge wear and even sheets!

  • This may be a dumb question. But. I worked at Victoria's Secret so I have quite a few yoga pants & leggings, but they're so uncomfortable with my belly. Even before I started really showing & getting bigger, they were extremely uncomfortable where they touched my belly. Is it going to feel like that postpartum? Or will I go back to having yoga leggings being comfortable right away?

@arghhhhhhhhh She's right! I found mine at Walmart. They are cheap and so, so comfy! The only downside for me is that they don't have pants pockets...
