I had zero desire to breastfeed with my first. I ended to doing it for almost 20 months. I was active dirty military and worked crazy long hours, gone all the time and my husband was off on a submarine. Breastfeeding was just so much easier and saved my sanity. To get sleep he slept with me and i just rolled over and put my boob on his mouth instead of having to get up and do the 5ish minutes of bottle prep and sitting there feeding him which after the fact i would have never been able to go back to bed. I usually slept while he ate. Also i pumped on the way to work, home from work and usually just once at lunch while i worked.

My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!
I want to add that not everyone leaks milk when their supply is regulating. I never leaked and never needed nursing pads. I don't have a strong let down so even when I was nursing from one side the other didn't leak. I used nursing pads only to protect my bras from the nipple cream.

That's awesome. Maybe third time will be the charm for me! In the photos from my DD's baptism you can see leaky milk stains on my sweater coming through the ring of the nursing pads. Sigh.

This was me too! I never leaked and only used the pads for sensitivity against my bra and lanolin. People always thought I was crazy for never leaking. It's kind of interesting that my mom tells me she was the same way.
OP, I never wanted to BF my first. I did it any way. After a while it made me really miserable and I resented feeding time every single time after the first few months. This time, I will not put myself through that just to avoid the judgment of others. I'll start BFing and go for as long as it works for both of us. And then I'll switch to formula and tell anyone who has a comment about it to go kick rocks.
