    2. Still gassy and nauseous but the vomiting/fatigue is definitely improving. I find a prune a day had become a requirement :). And the hunger... Never have I felt so hungry but had such a H hard time finding something I want to eat!
    3. I go for my IPS US and have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I am practically holding my breath in anticipation offer hearing (or not hearing :() the HB.
    4. A rant and a rave rolled together, for the first time during this pregnancy dh is around a lot ( with my other pregnancies he was not due to work so I had no choice but to power through). This time I have been taking it easy resting for 30 minutes after work, letting him do dinner. As my fatigue is letting up he keeps coming up with these grand plans... Like let's take the kids ice skating, swimming etc... On week nights after work. I as appreciate his enthusiasm but my energy level isn't there yet and I feel bad always being the downer on fun plans.
    5. Camping is a fond child hood memory.....

@createillumination that looks beautiful, so jealous hope you are having an amazing time

How far along are you? 7w (from o date) 7w+4 (according to dating u/s)

How are you feeling? meh. I'm having some on and off queasiness which I have never had in pregnancy before and am not particularly impressed. also feeling pretty exhausted, taking naps and feeling generally unproductive.

Any baby news (tests results/scans/upcoming appointments?) u/s was this past thursday with a follow up u/s coming up on 1/20

Rants/Raves/Questions okay, my obsessive tendencies are in full force right now. I've been reading some studies that show that fetuses w/a borderline heart rate between 6w and 7w (which ours was) are about twice as likely to end in miscarriage than a fetus with a normal heartrate at that gestational age (~17% v. 9%). The good news is that these same studies have shown that if a borderline heart rate picks up to normal range by 8w +, then there is no longer an increased risk of miscarriage. So....please let the heart rate pick up to normal speed by my 1/20 ultrasound!!!!

GTKY: What is a favorite childhood memory of yours that you hope your LO(s) will get to partake in some day? Some of my favorite childhood memories are of traveling with my family. We had a little camping trailer and every summer we would drive out of state to a state or national park, camp, hike and explore the area. My parents were nuts and even drove from Chicago to Puerto Vallarta with the kids one time, but I just found it so exciting and awesome to explore new places. We also travelled to Canada and to Europe as kids. My partner and I have actually talked about taking a whole summer in a few years to live somewhere in central/south america so our kids can experience a new culture/learn Spanish. Luckily, we have the flexibility in our jobs that we can probably make it happen. We actually met as peace corps volunteers and both really value cultural exchange.
  • @Mamafesto I totally get the OCD-ing it's so hard not to. I really really really hope the heart beat is nice and strong next us so you can have a little peace. Keep breathing nice deep breaths because every breath in pregnancy is a shared experience!
  • @redheadbride15 say whhhhhaaaaaa? I am almost 36 so I will definitely look into that!!
  • @Mamafesto --it's so hard not to obsess about things! Definitely hoping and praying that your little one's heart rate is nice and normal at the next ultrasound!
  • @Mamafesto. Fingers crossed for your next US...I hear you on the trying not to obsess

  • @Mamafesto Hugs! I get the obsessing... I did the same thing. Will keep you in my thoughts for your follow up US.

@lillebowski23 Do it! Just google it - it's pretty easy to find the info on how you can get tickets.

  • A little late for this part of the conversation but I'm glad to see other moms having a hard time making "mom friends."  I've always been an introvert but now I feel like it's worse because I'm in this weird in-between place where friends in my age range are either dealing with teenagers or decided to not have kids and the people who do have kids the age of my son make me feel like geriatric is not just a medical term.  They're perfectly nice people but we have had pretty different lifestyles and it can be challenging to relate.  I live in an area with a lot of younger moms due to work and people keep telling me 29 and 39 aren't that different, but, um, they're wrong.  Especially when it's people who mostly don't need new friends because they have settled down with all of the friends they've had since high school (or before) and stayed on the same path together.  It just makes it challenging to find a place to fit!  Eventually my husband and I are hoping to move, but it's going to be a few years at least.
  • I keep seeing posts about mom groups on Facebook, but they're all church related. That's not my scene. I'm a member of the Junior League, though, and the moms get together at the park sometimes. Aside from that, I'll probably go to the library and the park and see if I can meet people that way.

  • I met a great mom friend on a walk through the neighborhood! She's almost 10 years younger than me, I think, but we really clicked and so did our DH's. Bonus is that they live a block away! Keep your eyes open and don't be afraid to ask for/give out your number!

How far along are you?  22 weeks

How are you feeling?  Feeling good but slowing down a bit these past few weeks.  I'm sleeping terribly so that's probably affecting my moods.

Any baby news:  The repeat A/S revealed that the baby has an echogenic intracardiac focus (EIF) on her heart but I was reassured that it's not a big deal since it's an isolated marker.  All of the other things on the scan were perfect and my NIPT testing came back low-risk so I'm trying not to worry.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm tired of cleaning up after people.  It seems like I can't get ahead of the housework and I'm just depressed thinking about how messy my house is.  Having a bad day I guess.

My favorite memories of childhood were of family vacations.  Every year we took a trip to Washington DC to visit my uncle and went sightseeing for a few days.  We then headed to Ocean City, MD to spend the rest of the week at the beach.  We've taken our kids a few times and it's still amazing even though I'm the grown up now.

  • One more tip for the constipated! I forgot until I was reading another thread that some prenatals have iron in them. Iron is a HUGE constipator. All of my mentors have reccommended taking "floradix" for iron supplementation and take the prenatal without it in it. This applies only if you have problems. You can get floradix on amazon.

Very good point. I'm taking "Easy Iron" which is very gentle and hasn't worsened the constipation at all. It's just 25mg, which is the recommended dose for pregnancy. A lot of iron supplements have MUCH more than this, but you really don't need the extra unless you are anemic. My regular prenatal doesn't have iron (yummy gummies!)

Yup I started it around the beginning of 2nd trimester! That's when your body picks up generating extra red blood cells so you need it.
