Re: PGAL (Pregnant after a loss) Check-in Jan 11
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Doctor's appointment tomorrow and midwife the following week
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Lots of symptoms and a positive feeling today. But I wish my pregnancy were public knowledge so I could explain to my boss that I feel crappy.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for? I did my BA at the University of Victoria (Canada) and my law degree at the University of Alberta (Canada). My BA is in History and Political Science. I'm a lawyer now, so I use my law degree, but not so much my BA.

Weeks: 9 weeks tomorrow
What's next? Busy week at work conference this week (I think I packed enough clothes that will hide the bloat). Then two LONG weeks in the office before my next appointment 2/1 when I'll be 12 weeks. I'm really debating seeing if I can get it moved to the week prior so I can ease my mind and it puts a good space between that OB appointment and the 13 week NT scan.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had a headache and was bummed I couldn't take my usual meds that would have kicked it for sure.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
Great question! I have my MBA and looking back I think it really helped my career. I wish I had more management training though (how to organize staff and motivate them).
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Just my 12 week appointment later this month. Can't wait to see baby moving around in there!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm going through a weird mid-twenties crisis right now trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up (I'm already in a well-established career). I'm seriously considering maybe studying law, or working my way into a Board of Governors/Board of Directors type of position. Blah, I don't know!
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
I received an Associate's degree in Business Management last year at a local community college and I'm now enrolled at Bellevue University studying Business Analysis and Management. I graduate next February!
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
next appt is 2/1. Also meeting with the mfm on 2/4 to discuss genetic testing.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I feel like crap. Its hard to stay positive when you want to be laying in bed. And I've had to tell a few people because I couldn't hide being sick and that wasn't what I wanted to do. I would have preferred to wait.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
Nope. I am not a fan of school. I may take some individual classes though to help further myself, but I don't think I'll ever enroll in another degree program.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Blood work/nurse appointment tomorrow, then doctor's appointment Wed. morning, where she'll do a quick scan.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling nauseous and tired but not too bad. I'm running out of clothes fast....
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley in conservation and resource studies. Nothing beyond that except for a few accounting classes, and other miscellaneous. I work in higher education but have no desire to get a graduate degree.
Weeks: 9w
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): 2nd appt next Wednesday and then the NT scan/blood work the following week.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I forgot to take my progesterone yesterday, which my doctor said is fine since I'm only on it for one more week, but I was so relieved that I still felt like crap and I didn't have any bleeding. I know it probably wouldn't have allowed my levels to drop that significantly but it gives me a little peace of mind.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
I have a BA in philosophy and a Master's in Social work from NYU. I am constantly toying with the idea of getting my doctorate but I doubt I'll do it anytime soon.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I'm getting blood and urine work done on Tuesday and then my next appointment in early February. I'm really looking forward to the next appointment because I get to listen to the heart beat!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I wish the nausea would go away. It's breaking through my medication. I'm ready for the second trimester!
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
I got a B.S. In journalism with a minor in political science. I still regret not becoming an equine vet or doctor instead though.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): appointment with the RE Wednesday. Another u/s and going over the results of my RPL bloodwork. I'm dying to know if it turned up anything.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm in maternity pants today. At 8 weeks. I feel partially ridiculous and partially superstitious (Is it too soon? I had pulled out the maternity pants a week before our loss at 13 weeks last time), but the bloat is so out of control this time (blame the progesterone sups?) that I just could not get comfortable. I'm scared and pgal brain is out of control.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
Nope!
ETA: I was thinking grad or vocational training when I read post-secondary. I do have a BA in communication, which I use in my career in PR/marketing.

Week: 9w 4days
Whats next: first u/s on friday
Rants/raves-pgal brain. Just cant shake it
GTKY: have a BA in poli sci from The Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!). I have 1 year of vet school then realized it wasnt for me. I happily work in clinical research in the Oncology dept. We are encouraged to cont our education-masters, PhD, but there is no real incentive $$ and We all already work long hours so im not sure when cont edu would be feasable
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I go for blood work next Friday to find out the gender. We will have the results back by early February.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: The nausea is getting the best of me and I can't really eat. And I'm so lazy its unreal. All I want to do is nap lol. Come on, second trimester!
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
Nope.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): 1st ultrasound is on Thursday! Hoping to hear the heartbeat.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I felt okay most of last week. I hit 8 weeks and boom, nausea is back in full force. I'm also more tired this week. PGAL brain is on high alert. I didn't make it to my first appointment last time.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for? I obtained my BA in Business and Psychology at Austin College (small, private liberal arts school in Sherman, TX an hour north of Dallas) and my MBA from University of Texas at Arlington.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Next appt is the end of January. I look forward to sleep any chance I get. I've never been this tired!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I just want to send positive vibes to everyone. Its tough staying positive all the time when everything is so uncertain. We need others to do it for us sometimes.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
BA in Mathematics and Masters in education. Wish I would have spent my money on a masters in math though. Feel a little stuck in education. It may just be the seven year itch though.
I think I'm going to call and try to move my appointment. Right now I had my US last week at 8w, next scheduled for 12w and NT for 13w. I want to see if I can get checked between week 10-11 instead.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Appt with my OB next Tuesday. He will take a quick second peak. I will be 8+5, will feel a lot better after a second ultrasound if all is well.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I know this is a common one but I can help but be freaking out that my only real symptoms are being really tired and having to pee a lot. Makes me anxious to get to the stage where I will see physical changes.
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?

What's next? Our next appt is our nt scan on February 15!
Rants/raves/positive vibes: we had our first ultrasound yesterday and baby was perfect! Strong heartbeat and everything. I'm feeling so relieved and excited! If I could just get rid of this awful morning sickness....
gtky: I have a masters of divinity from duke university. I'm an ordained elder in the methodist church.
Mom to Cam and Al, now expecting baby number 3, August 2016. Praying for lots of sticky baby dust!

@crob5685 ours was also to be around this time. You'll be in my thoughts.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): 3rd ultrasound on Monday. At least, after so many losses they give lots of opportunities to make sure everything is okay.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: bit of a rant, but the number of times I see people referring to "board organisation" is making me feel a bit... stifled. I am a FTM and I don't frequent many message boards so I am unfamiliar with many of the concepts that are discussed. The only thing i really understand is, DON'T START A THREAD!!
GTKY: Totally unrelated; Did you do any post-secondary education or training. Where and what was it for?
I have taken a few college classes and i always talk about going back, but the reality is that I am already very senior in my position for my age, so I can't imagine accumulating so much debt for... what, at this point? I was told several times that I reached my career peak without a degree, only to exceed that each time. I talk a lot about it with my mentor.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): NT is coming up in a little over a week and we ate waiting on NIPT results which has me very very nervous. Clenching my jaw in my sleep nervous.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My lower back snd hips are killing me, so sore, gotta get back to yoga!
GTKY: Totally unrelated! Did you do any post-secondary education or training? Where and what was it for?
I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in sociology.
