We don't know the gender yet, so I haven't put to much thought into names. But some of my favorite girl names at the moment are Sylvie Aubree Leila Amilie Trista Adela Maiya Picking names as a teacher is hard. So many names I have heard a million times and so many names I associate with students, good or bad.
My name is Karissa and I always have loved it. I haven't met many others especially others spelled the same way. I get tons of compliments on my name even still as an adult. I hope to find a name for my LO that is unique enough but not too out there.
Haven't been on here all week, sorry for the late reply! The name Freya is for the Norse Goddess, my husband's family is Northern European and he loves Norse mythology! Her name means love and beauty but she's also badass and the Queen of Valkyries
Kinsley Taylor Brielle Brooklynn - this was the winner
This time our girl list is...
Harper Hayden Ella
I also like these but did they did not make our short list...
Sayer (pronounced exactly like it looks say-er) Ava Rhea (pronounced Ray-ah, always loved this name but it's been vetoed multiple times by DH)
I can't help it but I always think of diarrhea when I see the name Rhea. I think most people would pronounce it that way too. Maybe that's why DH is vetoing! Maybe Raya or Rayah would work better? Never seen that before though.
Lol and im assuming its Freya from The Originals. So im curious too! lol
My son actually got his name from that show- Elijah. I just love the strenght and power behind that name. Never would have thought of it if I hadn't been watching the originals!
A friend of mine gave me excellent advice when thinking of a name. It's a three part test: 1. The initials: do the initials spell something obscene, or embarrassing (ex. B. O.) then you may want to rethink it. 2.The Doctor : If the name is very strange, and you're saying it to a doctor, how long will it take to get them to understand you. 3. The backdoor: It's time for dinner and the kids needs to come in to play. Picture yourself yelling the name from the backdoor. What does it sound like? What do the neighbors here?
Shruggs. I found it helpful. We decided on Anna Quill for a girl (Quill as a first name sounded too much like "kill" for the backdoor test).
Other names: Sara, Sadie, Reina, Claudia, Catherine, Dana, Jamie
