Re: FFFC

  • @emgee27 I'm doing the same thing. A good friend's bachelorette party is at the end of the month and I just told her I'm for sure not going. I told her I would be a game-time decision bc back when they started planning I didn't know how I'd be feeling at this point so I'm hoping she had at least some inkling that I'd be a no-go. Bachelorette parties are just not a place for pregnant ladies!!! I cannot be crammed into a hotel room within 5 other girls, going clubbing til all hours of the night, and hanging out in smokey casinos. Just no. I'm gonna take her to a nice dinner instead. Hopefully she isn't too mad but no one else in the group except for one other girl (who also isn't going) has kids and I know they just don't get it. Oh well.

@AmadorRose I shaved my legs today too and was thinking "hm I wonder how many more times I'll do this before the baby is born." It's just getting so complicated! I also tried to trim my bikini area - HUGE mistake. I nicked myself and it bled so much! Worst part was I didn't realize it happened until I got dressed and then had to pee and saw blood in my underwear... I nearly had a panick attack before I realized the blood was coming from the outside!

  • @AGK2015 my leg hair is weird - I grow a dark two-inch strip all the way around just above each ankle and then a dark patch under each knee, otherwise the hair is blonde. And I do EXACTLY the same thing to DH when I shave, luckily he is still adequately impressed ;)

I'm a hairy beast right now because shaving gives me crazy razor burn and preggos aren't supposed to use Nair and the like.  :'(

I shaved my legs last night for the first time in nearly two months, and only because I considered wearing shorts out of the house today.

It's 40 degrees and wet and rainy here. It's supposed to snow tomorrow, and be in the teens and twenties next weekend.  My new Friday confession is that I hate you and your stupid warm weather, and you can't even get mad at me for saying that because it's flame free.
The only thing I miss about living in the north is not having to shave my legs for the entire cold season, from November-April. I usually broke down and did it once or twice, but I didn't HAVE to.

Ha! Maxi skirts and dresses are my best friend during the summer for that exact reason.** I'm a special occasion only shaver (things might be different if I weren't blonde, though). Typically, when I do shave, I also lotion up, immediately run to wherever my husband is, throw my leg up for him to feel, and demand compliments on my smooth, smooth skin. If I'm gonna exert that much efforts and risk razor burn to be pretty, I had better be getting some praise and admiration out of the deal.

**(Also, they make me feel like I'm not wearing pants.)

Yup. All of this (though my leg hair is more reddish than just blonde). I shave when it starts getting long enough that I can feel the breeze blowing through it, and on special occasions. It doesn't get dark enough to be visible until it's really, really long, so I wear shorts and short dresses all summer too.

I wish I could not shave my legs. I HATE body hair, so I shave every other day pretty much. I just need it to go away permanently so I don't have to see it anymore.

  • @fbanke42 that's just way too much work. I'm up to washing my hair twice each week because pregnancy seems to make it get greasiest faster than it used to. I also wear makeup maybe three times in a month, so you could say I'm pretty low-maintenance.
  • @emgee27 Totally not planning on going to my friend's bridal luncheon in March because I'll either be miserably pregnant, or home with a freshly baked new born. Also not going to her bachelorette party (an over night trip to Savannah, GA ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?) which is in August, and have heavily debated just being a guest the her wedding so I don't have to commit to a twelve plus hours session of "BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ALL ABOUT ME!" Between her to her family -.- Love my friend to death, but as far as drama goes, she makes me look demure as fu--
  • I guess my fffc is that I only shave my legs like once every month and a half? (If that) I have black hair, and still wear long skirts. I just dgaf about it. Now if I'm wearing a bikini or shorts I'll take the time to do everything... How do women who actually girl accomplish the feat of shaving all the time???

Also as a side note, I shave my armpits daily. That's gross.
  • Oh, and my FFFC: I don't know why, but I think cloth diapers are cute as heck, but really, really icky. Sorry environment and wallet.. but I couldn't ever. :s

I have to because body hair grosses me out... I can't stand to have hair anywhere other than the top of my head, my eyebrows, and eyelashes. I tolerate nose hairs because they serve a purpose that's not warmth.

Since I found out I was pregnant my hair growth has chilled out x10 so I shave less thank god. I used to have to shave daily now it's 2 times a week and it's like heaven

I bought a box of cosmic brownies tonight and ate 2 packages. One on the way home from the store and one after dinner.
I'm trying to eat healthier but it's a struggle.

I mean I'll take those off your hands if you need me to... You know, take one for the team and all that :P

Were you asked to be in the wedding? I'm so glad this friend didn't ask me b/c the wedding is end of March and I can't even imagine.

@spatter1 I agree! To each their own, but I will not be THAT pregnant lady at a bar. No, thank you.

Yes. I posted a thread about it a few months back. She's going full tilt bridezilla on me and I'm hoping it's just pregnancy hormones affecting our relationship. At this point I do NOT want to deal with everything she is requiring of me as a FTM to be in her bridal party... Such as "I know you don't want to use a pump, but you're going to have to get over it because no kids at my wedding" type of things... Oh and the overnight trip to GA when my LO will be about six months old... I don't like drinking, being around drunk people, or being away from my fiancé... Nothing about this trip sounds fun, and she expects us to spend a crap ton of money on it that none of us have. Sorry, end rant...

I've only been in a bridal party once, and I refuse to do it every again--pregnant or otherwise. My BFF had me ALTER HER WEDDING DRESS while I was 8 weeks pregnant... I was a wreck. I kept freaking out and crying that I was going to ruin her dress.

I tried to be as nice and understanding as I possibly could to my wedding party. I paid for everything and only required the wedding party to be there for the wedding ceremony/wedding photos. Nothing else. If they wanted to go to events, they could. If they didn't, then they didn't have to.

I can't stand bridezillas... Sorry you're stuck with that.

  • @Knottie9983816 oh yeeeaaahhh I remember now! That is such a silly expectation - I get the no kids but if someone has a really little one that needs breastfeeding, what do you expect??? Saying 'too bad' is just plain mean!

I had a good friend from college and was in her wedding and while she wasn't quite Bridezilla, she had a lot of expectations. Like, down to all of us wearing the same earrings from Banana Republic. It was unbelievably expensive and I had so much resentment by the end. If I was preggo or had a new baby then, I would have soooo bowed out so I get just wanting to be a guest only.

DH bought me a box for our Christmas road trip because I was eyeing them and mentioned that I shouldn't, but he is strongly in the camp that the pregnant lady gets whatever she wants. It makes eating well more difficult but they were damn delicious.

Think this may be a bit much for some... but my confession is utterly mortifying! So here I am... about a week into FINALLY feeling mommy-like. I start to write off fears and allow myself to be excited about this despite all the hardships I've been facing of late (laid off, unemployed, went from making 6 figures to literally living off of welfare, and no near end in sight for these things) I finally begin to buy baby stuff! I'm going crazy for freebies and clearance items! Seems I was barely getting into the swing of feeling ok enough to prepare for this baby girl and start making nursery plans (modest as they may be) even, and what do I find in my bed two nights ago but a bed bug!?!?!?

I haven't been anywhere in months due to my financial situation, no SO (or insignificant other for that matter) in the picture, so no one in or out of my house really. Only place I've been is to a family member's a couple months back (guessing thats where they were picked up).

So here I am... all plans of nursery and baby stuff on hold if not completely out the window to be able to keep this from becoming a full blown infestation! My shopping cart today was more reminiscent of a serial killer dumping bodies, or that of a bomb maker! I'm talking DEFCON5 in this b!tch! Nothing in my cart could have even hinted that I am a FTM-to-be.
  • @shtjustgotreal Ugh bummer. I hope that you're able to get it handled, I've never seen them but heard they can get out of control real quick.
