How are you feeling? Still good - finally kicking this head cold now (I hope my little guy is too.. nothing worse than a boogery baby), breasts a little sore and tired but otherwise symptom free - trying to see the positive sides of that instead of freaking

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? Tomorrow we are doing Christmas at my parents' house with my sister, her husband and their twins who will be 4 in March. It's so fun to get my 1 year old together with his cousins, should be a wild time!

Rant/Rave/Randoms: What is with the forgetfulness? I have been leaving things everywhere, someone's going to figure this out soon at work. I got all the way to my car yesterday and realized I'd left my purse (and keys) at my desk.

How are you feeling? Pretty good most of the time. Tired sometimes but not too bad yet. I had some nausea last night and this morning but felt better after eating.

Doing anything baby related today? Nope. Aside from prenatal appointments I'm sure we won't be doing any prep for baby for quite awhile.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: I'm just trying to pass the time until my u/s on Wednesday. I'm so nervous! I just want to see a nice strong heartbeat and a baby measuring right on track. With our last baby (with a chromosomal disorder) her heartbeat was very slow and she was measuring 3-4 days behind for the first few ultrasounds. We didn't know anything was wrong then but looking back I feel like those were early signs. (But I know that doesn't always mean something is wrong!). I am just terrified of having that happen again so I'm just so anxious to have a strong looking baby at my first u/s to put my nerves at ease.

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? Today is my DH's birthday so we are going to dinner and my mom is keeping the kids overnight. Nothing else planned for this weekend so I'm looking forward to just relaxing at home after a busy week.

How are you feeling? Pretty good. The spotting yesterday stopped.

Doing anything baby related today? Our first appointment is this afternoon and we can't wait.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: DH knew I was a little stressed/nervous yesterday, and had a movie, fire and dinner ready when I got home. We talked about the baby for just a little bit, but then it was nice to focus on something else.

Questions? Any question that you wish you would have asked at your first appt?

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? We are expecting a couple inches of snow Saturday, and I'm looking forward to a fire and just relaxing at home.

Pretty normal, just having some stretchy feeling cramps sometimes. This is my first pregnancy and I'm surprised I haven't had much nausea yet

First, because I can't even wait to type about it - I'm OBSESSED with The Jinx.. I much preferred it to Making a Murderer. Jinx is a creep and I have no doubt of his guilt, him at the end, gagging on his own guilt - I've never seen better TV!

In terms of Making a Murderer - my verdict is that Brendan is innocent and a very very easily manipulated, ignorant child (and will have the mindset of a child for the rest of his life). I am not as convinced on Steven Avery's innocence.. I REALLY wish he would have testified... like, how did he have confidence in the legal system to find him guilty when he sat innocently in prison for 18 YEARS ALREADY!?! aaaah. I am convinced that evidence (including the vehicle and key) were planted by police.

I was also creeped out by Halbach's brother the entire time. Why was he deleting voicemails from her? That didn't sit right with me, seemed like him and/or the exboyfriend might have be involved but I'm really reaching!

@AnnaS930, I couldn't understand why he didn't testify either! All I could think was that maybe his lawyers were afraid the prosecution would find a way to twist any and everything that he said. The Dassey confession really threw me too. I have worked with a lot of low-functioning teens so I can see how it's possible, but I think that really was what put the nail in coffin so to speak. I am 98% sure that Avery is innocent though, but that's because I like to believe in people's goodness. He just seems like a genuinely sweet guy. Not very smart, but not a killer.
That Durst guy, though....*shudder*

How are you feeling? nervous..most of my symptoms are gone. I know that doesn't mean something is wrong, but its making me worried.

Doing anything baby related today? nope

Rant/Rave/Randoms: I had my first appt. with my midwife and she ordered an U/S for dating. She said to go anytime, the sooner the better. So I called to schedule it and they told me to come in the next day. I go in and she tells me she can see a sac, but that its too early to date. Why would they even have me come in if they knew it would be too early? Ughh!! Because of the U/S results I had to go for a HCG draw and they came back at 2255, which my dr says is low, but we'll see after I get it checked tomorrow. I'm trying now to freak out, but it's hard since I didn't have to do all of this with DD. With her I didn't even have my 1st appt. until I was 11w along! Just trying to take deeps breaths right now!

@TheTamedShrew 100% agreed. I should have put spoiler alert on mine - I'm cruel... but I think at this point there's enough news stories about it that it's mostly known before people start it? Or I'm heartless.

Have you listened to Serial? I know people were super disappointed with it but I've been listening to it at work, I've definitely caught the fad of looking back at crimes that maybe aren't as straightforward as first presented.

Maybe this is dumb question... but here it goes. Are these daily check-ins replacing ticker change check-ins? Just had not seen a ticker change for that day of the week and this looks more like a general check-in.

@Beegey33 I believe we are doing these generic checkins until February. Once most people have joined we will start with the specific daily check-ins. For example, I'll post on Wednesday because that's when I will switch weeks.

Doing it this way for now because we don't really have a lot of participants yet.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: DH has been wonderful this week. He just started his new job. Every night, when he leaves work to come home, he calls and tells me he's on his way and checks up on me. He's being really sweet.

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? We finished painting our living room last weekend. This weekend, it's putting everything back where it belongs and getting all the window treatments back up. We're putting up new blinds in all the windows, so that means power tools!!

How are you feeling? Good. No morning sickness yet but still have the occasional cramping here and there.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: My Step-MIL is referring to the baby as "Our baby" as in she is included in growing and being responsible for it already. It's irking me and I am trying to come up with a clever but respectful way to say back off.

@Smashbox29 that would drive me insane. I really like my step-MIL but I do not like my MIL at all, when she says things like "There's my little guy!" on pics I put online I want to scream. I try to just say nothing... sorry, no good advice.

@Smashbox29 good for you! My husband was super worried about disappointing his parents when we first had our son - the first was about circumcision (his parents wanted our son to have a bris since his family is Jewish, I was not having it). I had to tell my husband "YOU'RE the parent now, and our son is your biggest concern, not hurting your parents feelings" He needed the reality check and completely agreed that decisions need to be baby-based

How are you feeling? Queasy in the morning and absolutely trained by the evening.

Doing anything baby related today? I have an appointment with a dietitian to ensure I am getting enough vitamins/the essentials. I eat vegan so it's always a concern.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: I've been peeking around Amazon and saving some baby related stuff for a potential future registry.

Questions? None so I'll answer instead:

@cclark2014 I think it's good to know how high/low risk you are so that you can ask at what point or with what symptoms do you need to call your doctor immediately, wait a few days or whatnot. I think every office has different policies and every person is so different so it's good to know where you stand with your doctor.

@Smashbox29 That is a difficult predicament! It sounds like she is very excited, which is sweet, but is bordering on being overbearing. Does she have a history of doing things like that? Like crossing boundaries? I would talk to your DH/SO and see what he thinks about nipping things like that in the bud NOW before baby comes. In my opinion, it's bound to get worse and transcend into other areas, not just this, so it's good to have a plan of attack with him so to speak! I know for me, what works is airing my grievances with DH and he talks to his mom on our behalf. That way there is never a me against her situation and DH has a great way of posing things without sounding condescending. Good luck!

Emillz5 I have read that brown tinged cm is just fine. Just be on the look out for bright red blood with cramping. If it continues go ahead and call your doctor! Better safe than sorry.

How far along are you? 5w6d. Almost to 6 weeks!

How are you feeling? My boobs have been swollen, but I swear they jumped up a cup size overnight. I feel like they're enormous, although my husband assures me they look "normal." I'm just normally fairly small chested, so it's weirding me out a little. And nauseous. And sore. My back and stomach feel like someone's been using them for boxing practice.

Doing anything baby related today? Not for our baby. We're going to a birthday party for our friend's daughter (the only one in our group with a kid). She's turning 1.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: I'm so over this "eat immediately or prepare to throw up" thing my stomach is doing with no warning. I feel like I'm being held hostage by my body.

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? Not really, other than the party we're going to tonight. We tend to be pretty boring. DH wants to take down the Christmas tree, but I'm just not feeling it. It'll probably get done anyway, though.

Sounds like you are describing my MIL. I don't post a ton of photos on FB but when I do (or when I'm tagged in a photo of DD that someone else posts), my MIL shares it Every. Single. Time. It's like she's "saving" it to her wall. We've tried to explain that's not how social media works but she doesn't get it. And it irks me to no end! (Honestly, that alone probably wouldn't bother me if it were anyone else but with her it is especially annoying because she isn't at all involved in our lives or DD's so it feels like she is she posting our pictures simply to make it seem like she is.)

How are you feeling? Pretty junky. (I told DH this the other day and he asked me if it was my new favorite word...apparently I've been using it a lot to describe how I feel.)

But, really, today has been rough. I'm looking back at Monday - when I felt great - and really wishing I had taken my own advice and just basked in the glory of no symptoms instead of worrying about it!

Doing anything baby related today? We'll probably tell my BIL tonight. He's living with us while between jobs (he just got out of college). Originally, I didn't want to tell him (I'm just not ready for the news to be "out") but it's too hard to fake feeling great in my own house 24/7. So I think it's time.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: TGIF!!!

Questions? Is anyone else feeling "foggy"? I know dizziness is fairly common in pregnancy but this constant dizzy/foggy/lightheaded/swimming feeling I have is crazy! I'm on progesterone supplements and it says to inform your doctor if you have dizziness, etc...but I'm having a hard time deciphering 'normal' dizziness from 'not normal'.

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? Yes! My Mom, brother, sisters, BIL and niece are coming from out of town for the weekend to have our final (and favorite) Christmas event. We'll have a pizza/game party tomorrow night and then wake up Sun to breakfast and opening gifts in our jammies, just like when we were kids!

How are you feeling? Finally feeling better!!

Doing anything baby related today? I heard back from my doctor who scheduled me for an ultrasound immediately before my first appointment on 1/21. She wants to do that due to my most recent losses. I should be 7w2d at that appt. If all goes well, I will then have a second ultrasound on 2/9.

Rant/Rave/Randoms: Yay for being mobile and getting stuff done around my house! The migraine I had Weds afternoon and all day yesterday really kicked my butt. I took it slow today and thankfully I'm still in good shape.

GTKY- Have any big weekend plans? Taking down our Christmas decorations. I've started the process, so now it's mainly the tree. It's supposed to snow pretty bad here, so I'm happy with sticking inside.

How are you feeling? Completely normal today. I know I should enjoy it but I'm trying really hard not to get worried!

Doing anything baby related today? Got my blood work result back and yes I am pregnant (1739) and my thyroid is normal and not being a jerk!!

Rant/Rave/Randoms: with the confirmation from the blood work, we are going to make it official. I know that some people won't say anything until 12 weeks but we just want to share it with everyone!!
