A lot of us have posted things we are freaking out about that are mostly baseless lately, so I thought we could laugh about it and post all of our unfounded, irrational fears in one thread.
I moved a few months ago and I have an unfounded fear that my epidural at the new hospital won't work.
I also think I have every scary pregnancy condition known to man every time I feel anything at all. Slight itch on my hand for 5 seconds? Must be Obstetric cholestasis. Baby hasn't moved in an hour? Baby must be in distress. OB said my iron was slightly low but still fine? I'm going to hemorrhage in childbirth.

Re: Irrational Fears Friday
But seriously, everytime I tell myself I'm being crazy I can't help but to think "WHAT IF I am the exception and it really does happen!"
But ultimately I think I was being paranoid and they're just being overly cautious as well...
But ya that is my irrational fear Friday.
Oh also that even though baby has been head down and facing the right way since 30 weeks that a flip will happen last minute.
Two WEEKS?? That's crazy!
I also fear baby flipping, especially because sometimes her movements are so crazy I thin she must be trying to turn around!
Birth related: that they'll open me up for my C-section and find two babies instead of one. I think this one is b/c the toddler was a twin and we lost his sibling at 16wks.
Not birth related: Trypophobia- fear of holes. I will hyperventilate and puke at the sight of a bunch of holes clustered together.

We live in an area that usually gets 3-4 inches a couple times a year and live 3 miles from the hospital.
Holes like lotus pods, sponges, or looking at the end of whole bunch of pipes stacked together.

Also, terrified of a repeat of catheter issues like I had after delivering my son. Back story: I got an epidural, which came with a catheter. Had an 8.4 lb baby, 3 sets of internal stitches, and couldn't pee on my own afterwards so they used a straight cath to drain my bladder. That wasn't enough, so they immediately put in another catheter for overnight. But they didn't want to wait for the doctor, so they pushed stadol through my IV, gave me Tylenol 3 with codeine, and lidocaine shots down there. Worst pain ever.
And lastly, I'm going to have a ginormous baby. DS was 8 lb 4 oz, and my doctor says this one is bigger... my best friend just had a 9 lb girl. Soooo, that would be my luck.
Not related to pregnancy: I am beyond deathly terrified of the dentist.
My epidural won't work.
I won't be able to pee right after the catheter (I swear the catheter scares me more than a giant needle paralyzing me from the waist down).
My low iron is going to make me like pass out and I won't be able to push all the way through labor (she told me to take 2 iron pills a day at 20 weeks, aaaand guess who doesn't? Me. The answer is me).
I'm going to be pregnant forever and eventually they'll have to take him in a c-section because I won't dilate or have any progress by 42 weeks.
I'm terrified of -
Grasshoppers
Crickets
Ladybugs
Granddaddy long legs
I HATE going outside in the spring/summer because of the above.
Baby related:
I'm terrified my baby will stop breathing. Ill lay awake and watch him breathe just to make sure.
He does this wheeze thing like he's gasping for air - all the doctors say it's normal but it scares me still..
I'm scared I won't get the hang of motherhood, and I'll always be scared to tend to my baby.
I'm scared to be alone with him because I'm scared I won't be able to meet his needs the way my SO does.
I'm also scared I'll never get enough sleep ever again,
Also terrified of a prolapsed uterus, don't know why, I don't know anyone who's had one but I've seen it happen to some of the cattle if the calf is to big. Its freaking awful!
Also afraid bc my MIL had a stillbirth her first pregnancy, with no complications her entire pregnancy. I just keep thinking that something bad could still happen to her even though I feel baby girl moving.
Also afraid of having a large baby! Haven't had a growth scan or ultrasound since 22weeks and me and hubby were both over 9lbs
Also it could be them finding ther voice ( I'm not sure how I feel about that opition - making me scared he's not breathing cannot be him finding his voice)
So now I have it in my head that he's this huge baby, whose going to weigh like 10+ lbs.
So I'm afraid he's going to get stuck in the birth canal, or I'm going to get his head out and they're gonna have to push it back in and take me via c section...
Yeah. I'm a crazy person.
This is always my biggest fear during our calving season. Thank god I've got a good reason for not taking any of the shifts on the ranch this year.

Dentists now offer sedation and anti anxiety pills to help people with fears of dentists
Not entirely irrational fear: even though I'm still so relieved and psyched that our LO flipped from frank breech to head down, I'm scared that, since she's still kind of small, she'll flip back into breech position right before delivery.

Yes! This is one of my biggest fears is the prolapsed uterus or not birthing the plecenta all the way! Being around livestock your entire life can sure affect your knowledge of the human birthing experience.
