FET Consultation

Hello!  I'm new to the Bump and to the FET process.  I'm going in for a consultation with a new Dr on Monday and I'm starting a list of questions to ask him and I wanted to reach out to this community and see what questions you recommended asking to help determine if this is the right center and dr. for me?

Re: FET Consultation

  • Get their success rates including not only pregnancy, but how many live births.  Get a breakdown by the age of the woman and also how many IVFs they do a year.  Ask them about genetic testing, and whether they do this.  You'll have to decide if it's worth it to you to do it.  Ask about costs; do they have a package deal?  Do you get refunded if you cannot complete an FET cycle?  Do you have infertility coverage?

Is this doctor part of a broader practice, or is it just this doctor?  If there are other doctors, how much will he do vs the others?  If it's just him, how quickly can you get on his schedule for an FET cycle if you decide to do it?

If you have any questions about the FET process in general, make sure you bring them up.

    Good luck!

  • @jewels2016 I'm just starting my first IVF cycle, so I don't know much about the FET process, but I'd probably ask about the thawing process and what they look for. @TheLabyrinth's suggestions are great too. Good luck to you!!

I see you are new to The Bump. I just wanted to invite you to my blog about IVF, repeat pregnancy loss, TTC, and all this "fun stuff." My goal is to find a community of women who could connect about this stuff. Feel free to check it out, drop a comment where you might have some expertise, or follow via email if you'd like.
