Any ever have to have fetal echo-gram Done

  I'm guessing you may have had the fetal echo done by now. I hope it went well.  If you have other questions feel free to ask. I had one with our recent baby mainly because they couldn't see all of the outflow tracts of the heart well when they did my anatomy scan. Initially we waited because my OB wanted another ultrasound to look at growth and but when the baby wasn't cooperating for them to see the views they needed on that study either we proceeded to fetal echocardiogram.  It really is much like a regular ultrasound they scan to locate the baby and then locate their heart. The study will be read by a pediatric cardiologist. 

  
  

  In our case I was pretty sure that the echo was going to be fine but I wouldn't have forgiven myself if we had not done it and then there had been something wrong. It would have changed our management a little because our plan was to deliver at a hospital that only had a level 2 NICU. Since everything was fine with the fetal echo that was exactly what we did do. If there had been concerns with the heart then we would have planned to deliver at the main campus of our university medical center where there is a level 3 NICU and pediatric CV surgeons.
