RAGE

Anyone else suffering from waves of compleatly unreasonable rage? Today in the office, my colleague was eating raw carrots for lunch (wtf who does that in a pubic place anyway?) and I actually had visions of clamboring over my desk and attacking her with the nearest heavy and/or sharp object to hand. The rage is even building again as I type this.

Anyone else? Just me?

Re: RAGE

  • I eat raw baby carrots at my desk all the time.  I close my office door though... so I hope no one hears me!

  • But yes, I get ragey sometimes.  You're not alone. :)
  • I don't think rage from someone eating carrots is a pregnancy thing ;)

I had a coworker who would eat almonds every.damn.day, but she didn't just pop them in her mouth. She would bite them in half and then eat the other half. It was the most nerve racking thing I have ever had to sit through. I finally said something one day "jokingly" and she got the hint and didn't do it anymore.

There are definitely other things that get me ragey while pregnant though :)

  • Oh man the littlest things set off my rage button lately. You're not alone!
  • I have apparently been way more emotionally in control since I got pregnant...I think it's the lack of hormonal fluctuations every month...BUT I have noticed lately when I do get upset about something I get REALLY angry and it's totally not justified. Thankfully only happened twice so far!!!
  • I raged and cried at DH for getting me Mary Kay gifts for Christmas from a different consultant than the one I use (who happened to be a bridesmaid in our wedding!). I was very irrational though.

    THIS. Me too!
  • I went through a ragey - phase while it seemed like everyone else on here was going through the teary phase  :)  The last week or so has been much better. Or maybe just because we went to stay with my parents/family over the long weekend. Nothing like Mama's cooking.

  • I get really ragey and grumpy when hungry mostly. The other day DH and I were out for my OB appointment and we also had his haircut booked an hour and a bit after that. We had previously discussed having lunch between the two but DH got a bit lost. Once I realized we wouldn't be having lunch till after the haircut I turned into the Sulk-a-nator . . . I was so grumpy and sulky till I got some food in me.
  • My husband threw out two tins of Christmas goodies without telling me. The rage was very real :s
  • Like road rage? Yep. I get this on a daily basis. Or in the grocery store when people don't get out of my way! ...Sigh... nothing like an angry, POed pregnant woman. At least we kind of have an excuse for the next few months.
  • I wouldn't say all pregnant women are emotionally unstable.. especially on a board titled "RAGE".
Ha, but seriously.. with all our hormones running wild unfortunately sometimes that's 'normal' during pregnancy. Its not every day, all day... or I'm pretty sure SO would've kicked me to the curb by now. Just something most pregnant women experience at some point or another.
  • Unacceptable!
  • Listening to people chew--carrots, chips, nuts, you name it--makes me ragey even when I'm not pregnant...
  • I had a rage moment last night with DH. Every time he moves when we're laying in bed it makes me shake all over the place! I've never noticed it before last night but I was so angry!
  • Last pregnancy I was okay. This one I rage at DH all the time. I'm usually blunt with him, but fairly level headed. Now I fly off the handle all the time. I'm not embarrassed. I'm pregnant. I calm down quickly and then we're fine.

This! I feel you. But I swear mine does it on purpose. He like literally flips and flops in the bed and invades my sides of the bed and all the while I'm bouncing all over the place and it's super uncomfortable for my belly. I wanted to give him a kick in the rear.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one! If DH has a crunchy snack, he always insists that I have some too so that I'm not just hearing him chew and getting silently irritated.
Edited because words are hard sometimes lately.

LOL. I force myself to eat whatever H is snacking on so I don't flip out on him.
  • Latest ragey moment, a fellow pregnant acquaintance on social media posting every hour about her pregnancy. I'm sorry if this is any of you, but I am not exaggerating when I say she posts every hour or two a day, and the day she "revealed" the baby's sex she made sure to update everyone from 9am (before her appt) to 8pm (when she finally revealed the sex) with random pictures of her at baby stores holding up pink and blue items, balloons, etc as if she were teasing everyone because WE'RE ALL DYING TO KNOW. I'm happy for you, however, this is excessive, lady! Don't get me wrong, as a FTM I am just as excited to be knocked up and happy for her, however, posting daily about normal pregnancy related feelings is more than enough. Isn't that what a Bump board is for??? Maybe I'm too ragey and judgey..

    Sounds STFUparents-worthy!
  • I'm raging over work. Was promised a promo in the fall of 2014 and again at my mid year review. Moved my life across country for my job in June at the request of the company. Promo announcements came out two days before Xmas and I wasn't promoted. No warning. No heads up. No good explanation (I asked if it was a performance issue). Can't help but wonder if my pending maternity leave was taken into account in the decision:/ ugh corporate America, you suck. Bummed.
  • Oh, my officemate's phones!! She is such a nice person but who the heck needs their ringer "ON" on their cell phone during the work day when it is sitting right next to her on her desk. Also, her office phone ringer is turned all the way up. WTH! I have ADHD and sharing an office is hard enough already without having to listen to her phones.

Don't even get me started on driving. I am not a native of where we are currently living and the people here are the worst drivers I have ever seen in my life! People seem great here for the most part until they get in a car, then they are awful human beings. So much rage.

And is it just me, or are the ones who leave their ringers on ALWAYS the ones with the most obnoxious ringtones?
  • I definitely went through a rage phase couple weeks ago. Right now I'm going through an anti social phase which is so unlike me. Could be caused by all the stress lately.
  • My rage is kind of strange...I have noticed that I cannot STAND the smoochy-short kissing noises when couples kiss on TV.  And when they keep doing it.....Just kiss already damnit!  I've literally considered throwing the remote a few times....  I know I'm strange :/

I'm going to go with yes. There's a person in my office that leaves their phone turned up all the time (actually several, but that's another story) who gets text messages ALL DAY LONG and all the time. And on top of that... he has the most irritating tone for it. Everyone always stares at him and he never gets the hint. Honestly I don't know how people do it and not feel bad. If my phone goes off accidentally so much as even once bc I forget to turn off the ringer I feel like a jerk. :|

  • My rage is coming from my MIL. She is staying with us until the end of the month.Normally all is cool but every single day my kitchen gets destroyed because she insists on cooking and over boils everything. Add that to the list of crumbs everywhere and comments that rub me the wrong way (which I normally could tolerate) leaves me needing alone time so I don't blow a gasket.
