This may be TMI, but this is the second time this has happened and it's scaring me. I am pregnant with my 3rd child and after my husband and I have sex I've experienced some bleeding. It's not heavy, but definitely more than spotting. The next day I get some residual brown blood. No cramping or anything, but I don't go to my first ob appt until 1/27. Should I be worried and maybe call sooner?
Re: Bleeding
"If you experience bleeding, that's normal. If you experience cramping, that's normal. The only time you need to worry is if you are experiencing both bleeding AND cramping at the same time, or if the amount of blood is enough to fill a pad within an hour, though that likely would be accompanied by cramping."
Also, I always bled after sex during my first pregnancy, even into my third trimester. I had a perfectly healthy little girl, born 2 days past her due date. :-)
Went to OB today and had to see a doc I've never met. He started out saying that my HcG levels are really good 26,000 so "let's take a look." According to my LMP I'm 5 weeks and 6 days. Well when he didn't say anything immediately and he had a look on his face I knew right away something was wrong. He told me that he sees the gestational sac, but that's it's empty. He said either it's too early to see anything or I've M/C or am about to. He sent me for another ultrasound at the hospital today and the tech there didn't see anything in the sac either. All I was told was to follow-up next Tuesday for another ultrasound and I'm meeting with him again next Wednesday to discuss results. I wasn't given any other info and it wasn't even suggested that I go for more bloodwork to see if my levels increase. Needless to say I was not expecting any of this as I've had no signs of M/C and feel symptoms of pregnancy. Now I'm just sad and worried and I feel lost.
That very thing happened to me last pregnancy. I was 5w5d and all they saw a sac. Six days later I came back and everything was there measuring exactly to my dates. He is now a healthy 13 month old that measured ahead the rest of the pregnancy. It is too early to say you are having a miscarriage. This current baby is even measuring behind. Sometimes they start out slow. I am convinced my babies take their sweet time to develop.
