Maternity Leggings?

Ladies!
I need some of your veteran mommy advice. I need to purchase some maternity leggings. With it being freezing, my jeans no longer fitting with this BLOAT, and being completely uncomfortable sitting at my desk...it is time.

Any recommendations on winter maternity leggings that are warm, and wont show your rear in the random case of needing to bend over?

Re: Maternity Leggings?

  • If you have a motherhood store they have the best ones and I believe target as well

  • Oh great idea. I'm so bloated and I swear I look like I did at 3 or 4 months with my first. Lazy uterus. I may invest in some tights if I think they will last throughout pregnancy. My pants are killing me already too :/

Yesterday I was looking at my belly and kinda rubbing it and I looked up and my husband's eyes were as big as saucers. I'm normally very thing waisted. At least I know I'm not imagining it :/ lol
  • Oh, anyone interested, they are having a buy one, get one half off sale on the leggings at Motherhood Maternity. Thanks for the recommendation @emmeline714

Girl,  ME TOO. I feel so huge and I am so uncomfortable...leggings are a must now.

The more I read the reviews for the tights at Motherhood Maternity, the more I question buying them. They all say they are see-through... thoughts?

  • On the subject of leggings... I am also about ready to start wearing mine 24/7 at 10w.  However, I have always been self-conscious about wearing leggings and not having my butt/crotch totally covered.  Anyone have good recommendations for the best long shirts/tunics? They don't necessarily have to be maternity if they're loose-fitting enough.  I have a lot of cute baggy sweaters and I'd love to just throw a long shirt on underneath!

  • I have found some good long tank tops at Old Navy and Target.com! @lucypod They also have long t-shirts!

  • I've been loving and living in my Lularoe leggings and Lularoe Irma tunics. Love love love.
  • H&M has cute tunics and I already bought a pair of jeggings in their maternity section. They are wonderful! Stretchy and super cute! They actually look like real skinny jeans but without the uncomfortable button.

  • No clue what Gap has right now, I would assume they are clearing out winter to bring in spring. But I've bought tops, jeans and shorts from there on mega clearance like 3-10 bucks a piece. You have to go in the store and when they have an additional 50% off everything (including clearance). People always say maternity is expensive I have always gotten steals at the Gap!!
  • Check out Zulily today mamas!  Great selection of leggings and tunics!

Ugh I know!  Zulily says my order will ship Jan. 25th. I think I can survive with my jeans and a belly band until then. I did buy a cheap summer dress though which will be a pleasant surprise when I suddenly start needing them.  That is my plan from May-July: dresses all day every day.

Yes!! Everyone is telling me I'm going to be so miserable being pregnant in the summer.  Well let me tell you something... I'll take being nice and comfy in my air-conditioned house and office over having to stuff myself into a million layers when I'm huge, which is already hard enough now when all my coats are getting tight! Same goes for baby. It will be nice not to have to bundle him/her up in the beginning!

  • @lucypod  No joke my August pregnancy was the best!  I loved it.  Summer was amazing.  I got to stay active, not wear tons of layers, it was a breeze and being able to take baby out and not worry about flu season and cold and bundling was the best!  I got a jump on losing the baby weight while it was still decent weather here.  My feb baby yuck.  Im not sure I ever want another winter baby!

@Tnallen107 I had forgotten about the euphoria of the pool float while pregnant.  I'm pumped about that benefit, plus my hubby can't complain when I make us go to the pool all the time! LOL! (edited: wouldn't tag)

  • I already told my in-laws that I'm buying a donut pool float and practically moving in to their house this summer so I have instant access to their pool.  We'll have to start a new thread - "Best Pool Floats" for when it gets closer :)

YESSS. This is a MUST when it gets a tad warmer. Even though, it was 65 here in Texas yesterday. Didn't last long. We expect snow tomorrow.

My SO's aunt has a saltwater pool. When we announce our pregnancy, I expect to announce my rental of her pool as well. Thank heavens for family pools!

That's why I planned another September (August) baby. I loved my summer pregnancy! Sun dresses, flip flops, and watermelon! We can get through the winter bloat. Fun baby bumps are just around the corner!!

  • @lucypod I hear you on the tight coat! Ugh. That's how I really knew how fast I am either showing or how bloated I am. When I put on my coat yesterday and buttoning it was a strain. Wtf!? At only 9.5w!? I swear I didn't see any belly growth with my first until probably 15-18w!
