Cloudy urine

Hey all. Im almost 10 weeks pregnant and ive been noticing my urine is cloudy in the morning and fine the rest of the day. I have a weird stretching pain on my left side that comes and goes. Its not painful just annoying. I was tested for a UTI a few weeks ago and came back negative. Anyone else experience this? Its my first pregnancy and im a little paranoid.

Re: Cloudy urine

  • I think it's fairly normal.  Make sure you are drinking enough water

  • I agree. There's a lot more nutrients in your body than usual. Gotta flush your system a lot more.
  • Thanks. Drinking anything has always been my downfall. I need to get one of those hats that have the straws attached and just drink throughout the day lol.
  • Sounds like you need more water and you might be having some RL pain.

Something that's helped me is logging water intake, and filling large water jugs to take with me with line markers (so, drink this much by this time). Also, flavoring your water might help you get a little more down.

Personally, I wouldn't be concerned, but it can never hurt to have your urine tested if you feel that a UTI might be a possibility.

  • Since u have ruled out a uti, I would say the cloudiness is probably coming from increased cervical mucus
  • Im actually getting it checked out today. Better safe than sorry. Thanks all
  • Do you take your prenatal at night? This could be a contributing factor. Some women report really dark urine in the morning due to the nutrients in the PNV from the night before.
  • I take my prenatals in the morning (otherwise I'd never remember). I told my doctor and he wasn't concerned. Just a relief to get checked and [temporarily] stop worrying lol.
