40+2 not dilated at all and SO FRUSTRATED

Bahhhhhhh I don't know whether to cry or throw a fit like a child.

Just got back from my 40 week appointment. Nothing. Not dilated at all.

They had me do a NST and little girl passed with flying colors so my next appointment is scheduled for next Wednesday... Aka 41+2.

My frustration level is beyond belief. I JUST WANT TO HOLD MY BABY GIRL. Not to mention pregnancy is a little uncomfortable at this stage.

If I don't have her by Monday I have to go back to work even though I told my students and their families I wouldn't be back.

Originally my mw told me they would only let me go a week over. Today that was not the case. I'm not upset by that, we don't want to be induced if we can help it. But WAHHHHHHHH. I cried the whole way home.

How can I not be dilated at all? What is it... Glued shut?!

    I got the same news on Monday!!! So disappointing to hear even tho dilation doesn't mean much on when labor actually starts it would have been nice to hear something was happening. I am terrified of getting induced and really hope something kicks off soon on its own... I figured he would be late but this is redicilous!!! We will have our babies soon!!!! (I hope!!!)

    Same here, @katiemeowt ! I did lose the MP finally (sorry, sorry!!) but still not a single real contraction at 41+3. *twiddling thumbs* Our babies are waiting for the new year, clearly! :)

    This is me also, you are not alone. I was barely a "fingertip" dialated yesterday, and about 20% effaced :( however i'm choosing to be induced Monday at 41w cause i'm ready to get this show on the road. Oh, and I also got a severe cold 2 days ago which is probably holding baby up too. Docs say baby won't come if mom is sick, nature's way of protecting you both. Great.

    I've heard that about being sick! Stinks to wait but I can't imagine going through something like labor while I was feeling ill... :s

    I am still waiting!!! 4 days late. Induction scheduled for Tuesday... Really hoping he comes before then! Congrats on your baby!

    5 days late here and still nothing. Whee! Next appt is Tuesday for an ultrasound and to "score" the baby...whatever that means. Unless they tell me she's like 12 lbs or my fluid is low, I'm probably going to hold out on medical induction until 42 weeks. Which might just put me over the edge of sanity...but we'll see. Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

    Congratulations on your water breaking! I had a catheter with a balloon inserted into my cervix that helped me dilate to 3.5 and the next day I was induced. After 12 hours of inducing and no more dilation, they broke my water (I really did not want to go home) and then I finally kicked into real labor. Four hours of labor and 32 minutes of pushing, my son was born. (:

    Looks like they are inducing tonight and not tomorrow due to low amniotic fluid. I'm only a centemeter dialated so far so I think I'm in for quite the experience. Ahh! I keep having to remind myself I will have my little boy soon and not just focus on everything thats about to go down. Kinda freaking out!

    I am in a similar predicament :/ I went to my 41 week appointment (a day early) and they wouldn't let me leave! My fluid was very low so they sent me to L&D to start cervidil. I started having contractions soon after. Then, a little bit later, I discovered the joys of back labor! They will take the cervidil out at 2:30 and reassess the situation. Everything is backwards from what I wanted. I am being continuously monitored, I can't use water for pain relief, etc. Harumph.

    Oh no that sounds horriable! I was looking forward to the jacuzzi tub myself! I am waiting in the hospital now for a room and then I get to start that lovely process myself! We are going to have babies soon! It's so crazy!!! Good luck I hope things get easier for you!

    They took the meds put and let me be monitored from the tub! Good luck to you also!!
