Hi all, I'm still pretty new but in reading various posts I see that many of you had repeat OB appts so that the OB could make sure your HCG levels had gone down to zero before giving you the ok to TTC again.
Mine just told me to wait 2 cycles. In fact, I was worried that I hadn't gotten my AF so I took a test and it came back positive (this was more than a month ago). Then I started reading and posting on here. Now I'm wondering why she didn't have me followup and do b/w to make sure my HCG levels went down? I'm frustrated with my OB anyway for other things she did and I'm definitely not going back to her when I get pg again.
But I wanted to know, did anyone else's OB not follow their HCG down to zero? For those of you whose OB wanted to do b/w till you were down to zero, did they every explain why, or was it just their routine procedure?
Thanks!

I never asked my OB either. Don't blame yourself. We're in a haze after a m/c. It's the OB's responsibility to be proactive at that time. I went to see another OB afterwards (as a consult for a future pg) and she was shocked that my original OB did not follow my HCG down to zero.
My OB didn't follow my levels down to zero. I'm not sure why. She tested them when I started to m/c, and instructed me to wait one full cycle, until I got AF, to start TTC again. She also said that if I hadn't gotten AF in about 60 days, to give them a call and we'd talk about Provera. That's probably why she didn't follow them down.
However, I did follow them down with ICs. The day after I got the last, faintest positive, I got AF.
The bolded, for me. My OB didn't follow my levels down, just advised me to wait one cycle.
My OB didn't do BW after the last level was 30. If I wanted him to, he would've...but he said that low enough to just let nature take its course. My m/c was really early (5 weeks) so it was a CP and no D&C was needed.
And for my first m/c, they didn't follow my HCG but after a week of just spotting they did an u/s, which determined that I had not passed the sac and then I needed a D&C. But he never did BW again after the D&C.
I think it just depends on your circumstances and your Dr.
GL and so sorry for your loss.
