I hope no one is opposed to me posting this. I know there is a baby gear thread but this is more specific. I'm (obviously) due in March and still not totally sure where baby will sleep when we first bring him/her home. I've heard varying things about rock n' plays, bassinets, cribs, pack n' plays etc but I can't seem to decide. Help!
What did you/will you use? Please comment!

I'm thinking the full sized ones are the same size as a pack n play, so she'll sleep in that probably until she moves into a toddler bed. She'll be in the same room as me because I only have a 3 bedroom, and my 2 boys have their own (much needed) rooms, they are 13 & 9.

I voted our bed though, bc that's where the majority of sleeping gets done.

Ps: everything is hand-me-downs so we didn't have to buy everything just in case they don't like them.
With this one, I'm going to attempt the RNP from the beginning because we've moved and have a tiny bedroom. The RNP takes up way less space than the Pack N' Play.
If she starts in our room that won't last very long as we've found that for our family everyone sleeps better in their own room DD1 definitely slept better once she was out of our room.
Unless of course things don't go according to "plan." All of my theories are based off of what we did with our first two children. Before my firstborn, I swore I'd cosleep and I only got a crib because my MIL wanted to buy one, but both of my children ended up in the crib before they were a month old and never looked back. You'll quickly figure out what works best for your family!

Our family of 5 is complete!! Love our boys!
Also, the nursery is close enough for me to hear him cry without a baby monitor and I'm the type to let him self soothe for a while before running to his aid.
So he'll be in his own bed from day 1.
However, that in no way means he'll never be in our bed. Hell, we've got two dogs in the bed already. Why not a baby too?!
DH and I have agreed that at middle of the night feeding times, he'll get up and go get him, I'll nurse him, then he'll either stay for a while and go back later.....or DH will take him back if we're not sleeping well.
I did some research on this last week and was surprised that the American Academy of Pediatrics now recommends babies sleeping in the same room (not the same bed) as their parents for the FIRST YEAR! Does this seem a little excessive to anyone else? Obv I want to do what's best for the baby but I also don't want him to become too dependent on us to sooth/go to sleep. Thoughts? I plan to bring this up to my OB at my next appt.
