So it started when I realized I hadn't felt the baby move all day, not a wiggle or kick, absolutely nothing. So, me being a nervous FTM to-be called the after hours line. I followedher iinstructions and then went to the hospital. Doctors hooked me up to all kinds of machines and said baby looked totally fine. They then asked if I felt contractions. I said no, and they told me I was having steady contractions 2-3 minutes apart for about an hour. Which completely shocked me as I hadn't felt anything at all. They ended up giving me a shot to stop them, and they released me. My concern/question is this: are my odds higher of preterm labor, knowing I was having steady, what I assume were real, contractions? Any words of advice or similar experiences?
Re: Contractions at 30 +4
I agree, drink more water. With my first pregnancy I was plagued with steady contractions early on that would sometimes last for several hours, get more intense over time, and would actually cause some dilation. I know I displayed because I ran up to the hospital a couple times and got checked. I'm not a doctor, so I don't know what to tell you about your preterm labor concern, but I DO remember thinking "this has to be it!" So many times in those last ten weeks.
We were supposed to go to my in laws for Christmas dinner 2014, and we ended up at the hospital instead because I really thought my water broke.....it hadn't, I had just peed my pants a little because the baby kicked so hard. My labor with her when the time came was almost 24 hours long, and this time there will be no mistake when it's go time.
Best wishes!
I drank lots of water, laid down as much as possible, on my left side, til I could get in to see my OB.
