Hope everyone had a nice New Year's and a relaxing weekend!
How far along are you? 14w5d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Still feeling sick in the morning, but it passes quickly thankfully. Also, yesterday I turned into a bottomless pit--appetite's coming back?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Started crocheting a baby blanket, and learning (thank goodness for YouTube) how to make a baby beanie.
Questions? Nope.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! I love to eat and make fruit cobblers, crisps, and crumbles. I'll use whatever fruit is in season with the same basic recipe, but my fave lately is a Blueberry Nectarine Crisp.
ETA: Forgot to add that I heard back from our NT scan blood work. Risk of Down's, trisomy 13, and trisomy 18 are all 1 in >10,000. I'll take it!! Phew.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Need to get our nursery set up- need to clean out the room and call a contractor to re-insulate, sheet rock and re-carpet. Looking forward to actually having a nursery though!
Questions? I've noticed that I get full way faster than I did pre-pregnancy. Anyone else?? I NEVER thought I would be eating less while pregnant!
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share!
I'm so lazy! Ice cream or break and bake cookies. I actually love to bake but if I want something sweet quickly those are my go to.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Back to work today, ugh! And it's the coldest day...-22 (which is like -7.6 for most of you). Eff that!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Working for that $$.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Cherry cheesecake...DH's Grandma's "famous" recipe. It's always a hit, & easy to make. I don't have the recipe with me though as I'm at work.
@laurenm2123: Same here! Lately I've noticed I get SO hungry suddenly, but I get full much faster than I expect. Then I'm hungry an hour later. Your reno sounds exciting!
@DeePaddy24: -7F? Girl. Nope. DH and I spent a night in the Ice Hotel in Quebec City years ago. It was a beautiful place, but at -17F outside, one night was plenty
@laurenm2123 - I tend to eat less at each "meal", but I snack much more often so I think that I'm making up for it all?
How far along are you? 15w4d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I have no symptoms and I seriously don't feel pregnant at all. I also don't really have a bump yet (except that DH and I can slightly notice). It's weird to think that although I feel totally normal, there is a mini-human growing in there! Rant: Holidays are over and we can relax! Rave: Holidays are over and I have to work...
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I'm spending this morning looking into Daycare records. Holy hell, some places are shady! There are good ones too, but their records are boring (in a good way).
Questions? Nope
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! I'm a big fan of cookies of all types, but I have very few cookies recipes.
@crdo -- I just realized we have the same due date.
@laurenm2123 That sounds like a costly renovation! Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!
@DeePaddy24 It's cold as balls here too. Where are you from? -14C and -21C w/ windchill (7F or -6F w/ windchill for you US folks)
@kballew10 I am so not ready to go back to work today. I'm tinkering with misc. administrative stuff right now to delay the real work that will need to happen this afternoon.
How far along are you? 14w 5d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Still battling occasional nausea and my stomach just feels so weird all the time. I can't tell if I'm hungry or nauseous or what.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Starting to focus on big-item baby needs like a stroller, car seat, etc.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Well my husband makes creme brulee and it's delicious, but since I can't make it I guess that doesn't count. A quick and easy cookie recipe that I make is chocolate chip oatmeal cookies with orange zest. The orange makes the cookies taste really "bright" (if that makes sense) and they are super soft.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I feel annoyed with the world. Other than that, physically feeling good.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Man. Cleaning my house. Just preparing for the shifting of bedrooms.
Questions?
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Boxed brownies... for my go-to... because they are easy and so delicious when slightly undercooked If I am actually making a "real" dessert, then it is Reese's Cheesecake Cupcakes: https://www.momontimeout.com/2012/04/reeses-peanut-butter-cup-mini/
@laurenm2123: I will feel so hungry and then manage only a few bites or half of the meal and feel stuffed to the brim. Feeling full also feels worse now!
How far along are you? 16 weeks today!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: Back to the daily grind, boo. Rave: New episodes of shows start coming back this week, including the Bachelor! Not sure why I'm so excited to watch...hoping for some craziness/drama though! Looking forward to Scandal, Quantico, and PLL as well. Symptoms: Heartburn a lot of the long weekend, super nauseous in the car yesterday not driving (seems to be worse when it's really bright out), sore nips/boobs, hungry all the time.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Narrowed down to 3 small SUVs to test drive in the next week or two! Finally picked a paint color for the kitchen so getting the kitchen and the main bathroom re-painted soon. Next, sell the twin bed in the basement room so we can move the queen out of the nursery.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! I don't make these all the time, but they are a fave cookie to make and freeze really well (the recipes makes like 70 cookies). We had them at a B&B several years ago and they were amazing. They share the recipe on their website thankfully. https://www.northforkmtninn.com/dining/marry-you-again-cookies.php

@DeePaddy24 Right, we're from the same area. I forgot that I've already asked you that. I work in London but I live in Stratford. I don't want to go outside today.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Still getting nausea, headaches are no fun and heartburn/acid reflux can kiss my butt right now.
Rave: doctors Appt Friday. Rant: i told my boss I was pregnant and now he is being an ass. I will write more about this later I need major advice and possible legal advice if anyone has it, but he just made a meeting for Friday I asked how long it will take and he won't answer me so I might miss my appt.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? So i was born in England and most of my favorite food is English. Rice pudding or birds custard and rhubarb are my absolute favorites. And now I want them... like now. Bonus if you have a recipe to share!
@laurenm2123 I get full really fast, too! And if I eat a big lunch, I'm full for the rest of the day. It's weird.
@Kballew10 I hear you on the no symptoms. I'm not showing at all either. I joke that, if not for the pregnancy test, I could have ended up on that TLC show 'I didn't know I was pregnant'
How far along are you? 16w 2d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I've been feeling movement for a little while now, but it's still infrequent. Rant: we are finally home from holiday travels and I think I'm getting a cold. Sigh.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Thinking about painting the nursery this weekend.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! My go-to is probably Oreo truffles. So stinking easy, but I always get requests to bring them to parties. I made them into little footballs with piped white chocolate laces for last year's super bowl. https://www.food.com/recipe/oreo-balls-52035
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
How far along are you? 14w 3d (lurking from July 1)
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I mostly just came to talk about feeling the baby. I don't mean kicks or flutters- I'm a FTM and haven't had any of those yet. But in the morning when I wake up I have a fist-sized knot on the left between navel and pelvic bone that bulges out under the skin and I think it's the baby or at least the baby plus surrounding water balloon. If I poke and prod at it, it will move from right under the skin and settle wherever it lives all day that I can't feel, and if I don't poke at it, it's gone the minute I get up and I don't get another chance to feel it until the next morning. Just wondering if anyone else is having that and do you think it's the baby or is the uterus just relocating other organs to bulge out like that? (P.S. either way I think I'm going to have a crooked lefty belly...)
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Told MIL, she's going ape$h!t with purchasing. Works for me!
Questions? See Symptoms.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Apple slices with chunky peanut butter and raisins. It's lame, but it's my go-to. No one at our house bakes and we don't live near any kind of delivery anymore booooooo.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: I went from 2lb weight gain total to 8lbs total over the holidays. Gulp. Rave: I bought two pairs or amazing mat jeans at Value Village for less than $4 each. Woo! Symptoms: Happy the first tri symptoms are over, but the aches and pains are setting in now - ah well, another reason to get out of doing stuff.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Bribing my 8 year old to eventually move to a room on the lower level of our home. We have three bedrooms on our main floor and two on the lower. I told him he could move or share his room with his 2 year old sister - he said he preferred to share. So I threw in the offer of his own TV and that changed his mind really quickly. ha! Other than that - I'm getting rid of pink stuff that Piper (DD) has grown out of and I was holding onto in case this one was a girl. It was sad. There may have been tears. So to counter that I pulled out some stuff I saved from when Jack (DS) was a baby.
Questions? Nope
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! I could eat a pound of that saltine cracker/caramel brittle stuff? Not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about - but it's amazing. This may explain the 6lbs I gained over the holidays....
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rave: feeling baby move! The other night laying in bed it felt like little popcorn... Pop, pop, pop then a big POP! Truly amazing ❤ rant: drama at work... I won't get in to detail but sometimes being a manager is no fun. Symptoms: not a whole lot outside of hunger (and if it strikes it's like feed me now!) and RLP. Also some "lightning crotch"
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Cleaning out the "man cave" that will be the nursery
Questions? Not today
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share : I love home made chocolate chip cookies and also chocolate trifle
@DeePaddy24 and @catherinekate it's freezing here too! Currently -16, feels like -26, but it was even colder first thing this morning. Not exactly what I was hoping for on the first day back!
@crdo I crochet too! I bought a bunch of yarn over the break to make a baby blanket too. I decided to make one in rainbow colours for my rainbow baby! Plus we're team green so I figured a blanket with all of the colours would be gender neutral. What kind of blanket are you making? I have tons of recommendations for baby hats if you're interested. And let me know if you ever get stuck on something!
@laurenm2123 I feel full so fast too. I eat the same as I normally would, but feel soooooo uncomfortably full afterward. Yesterday was the worst. I have officially decided to split up my meals like a hobbit. Time for 1st dinner and 2nd dinner!
How far along are you? 17w5d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant: With the holidays we were either out or totally forgot to do bump photos. I REALLY wanted to do a photo every week to document the progression and now that we've missed a couple, I'm bummed about it. I even bought cute little wooden blocks to hold that say how far along I am. DH is totally not into it as much as I am but I'm trying to get it through to him that we can't go back and take these later! Argh. Rave/Symptoms: Feeling pretty good overall these days. Having more RLP since yesterday but thankfully nausea is gone, heartburn is only intermittent, and energy is coming back bit by bit.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I started the pre-baby house purge/organization over the break. Got a decent start but there is still lots to do!
Questions? Why does RLP have to hurt so much?!
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Chocolate cake is my fave, but mint chocolate chip ice cream is my easy go-to!
@candicek15: I'm a beginner crochet-er, so this blanket is made of gray and white yarn (team green!) and is all double-stitch chains, haha. I'd like to figure out how to do a pretty border to finish it off. The baby hat is an antique white, simple beanie. Your rainbow blanket sounds lovely! And I think it's so sweet you're making a rainbow blanket for your rainbow baby! I will probably hit you up for some crochet advice and hat patterns soon--good to know there's a guru on the board!
@crdo Good for you for getting started and trying new things! It's good to start with simple stuff so you can get better at it and work on keeping your tension consistent. I love your grey/white combo! Most of the sheets I've decided to register for are grey/white too! I am definitely up for sharing patterns and advice (I am a bit obsessed, lol). My best piece of advice is to keep your yarn stash in check, it's easy to go overboard and run out of room. My husband has declared a moratorium on yarn purchases for a long time, hahaha.
@CourtJack I did the exact same thing with my holiday weight gain. I was only at 3 or 4 pounds for the first 16 weeks and then in a week it jumped to 8 or so. Ugh.
How far along are you? 18w
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I have my next appointment tomorrow and I can't wait. Also leaving for Texas on Wednesday to visit friends I haven't seen in forever so it should be a pretty entertaining week. There are times where i THINK i can feel the baby, but I'm still not 100% sure that's what it is. Other than that, symptoms are very very minimal. Definitely starting to show more though.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH and I just spent the last two days glued to our computers doing research on baby products and finishing off our registry. We're basically done. Holy crap is baby stuff expensive. Its giving me cold sweats.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! I've always made this really good chocolate mousse whenever I've needed to come up with a dessert for something. It is from a cookbook my mom must have gotten from her mom because it is super old and falling apart. I left it at her house and I don't remember it all off the top of my head :-(
@crdo Good for you for getting started and trying new things! It's good to start with simple stuff so you can get better at it and work on keeping your tension consistent. I love your grey/white combo! Most of the sheets I've decided to register for are grey/white too! I am definitely up for sharing patterns and advice (I am a bit obsessed, lol). I love the hat @candicek15! If the hat I'm making turns out well, maybe I'll give that one a shot! Yarn stash is pretty small so far, but I can see this getting addicting
I've never heard of a temperature afghan, @NicknShan, but I love the idea.
How long does it typically take you two to make a simple, average sized baby blanket?
Morning! How far along are you? - 15 weeks and 5 days
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rants- my own saliva makes me sick... Come on!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I changed OBGYN this morning. After the last appointment I just felt that she wasn't a good fit for me so made the change. I picked up a perfect Graco changing table off a local moms group for $20. Its great and even perfect for changing and drying DD after her baths. STEAL! Booked a baby moon to my family in Ireland!!
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! - I love cheesecake. But it has to be cheesecake with the biscuit crust underneath! I also just like vanilla ice cream if I wanna keep it simple.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Morning sickness is nearly gone, still a little nausea first thing in the morning but its manageable, thank goodness. I'm just ready to move back to a somewhat normal appetite, especially since I haven't gained a single damn ounce despite feeling like I'm eating a lot. Also going back to reality after 10 days off sucks.
Questions? Maybe TMI but is anyone else leaking a little? I got out of the shower yesterday and noticed little beads of a clear/milky white fluid on my nipple and was able to squeeze more out too so I presume it is milk/colostrum. My doctor had mentioned at my 10 week appointment that it was normal to make milk long before the baby is born but I assumed it wouldn't be until at least a LITTLE but closer to delivery and would be more common in repeat moms than first timers like me.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! NY style Cheesecake all the way. If I'm feeling adventurous I'll throw in some swirls of strawberry but it takes forever to boil down the berries to a nice clear thick syrupy mixture so I don't do that too often.
Hey ladies! I feel like I haven't been on TB in forever. Between traveling, having the flu and now a cold, I've been down and out for a while. Hope everyone is doing well!
How far along are you? 17+2
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? I have the start of another cold, less than a week after having the stomach flu. I can't seem to catch a break lately. Lots of RLP, constipation and uterus stretching. I think I'm starting to feel flutters here and there, but still can't be 100% sure. Super excited for our first ultrasound in 3 weeks!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We were at my FIL's for Christmas this weekend, and one of our gifts from him was a beautiful wooden rocking chair that he built when he was younger. It really made me want to get started on cleaning out what will be baby's room and I've started looking at nursery bedding ideas.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! This is a tough one. I don't really have a favorite, but I love a good cheesecake for a special occasion! If we're just hanging out at home and looking for something sweet, probably oreos and milk.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? None today! Feeling good was able to wake up and go on a 3 mile walk with my pups and get some fresh air
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Researching stuff for the registry and trying to figure out if I should go with white furniture or espresso brown for our baby girl her bedding is white with pink, yellow, and light green and going to leave the walls white and decorate with pink.
Questions? Has anyone else been told to keep your heart rate under 140? If so do you follow it? That's what my midwife told me but I read its outdated and when I follow that rule I can only walk I can't run because my heart rate will go up to the 170s when I run
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Godiva chocolate cheesecake! (Store bought from the Barnes and noble Starbucks)
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rave: We're all moved in. Hooray! Rant: No Internet at home until Thursday. It was a long weekend of unpacking while watching our very limited physical DVD collection. Symptoms: My boobs/chest are SO veiny. It's so freaky. I'm also starving all of the time. I ate breakfast like 3 times yesterday.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Currently rearranging our bedroom to be able fit a crib. The room is a lot smaller now that our furniture is all in it. Whoops.
Questions? Nope.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Literally any kind of cheese cake.
@Jerseygirl9090 - It depends how in shape you were before pregnancy. I follow the breath test (with my doctor's blessing of course) since I'm in decent enough shape before pregnancy. If I can't complete a sentence without catching my breath mid-sentence, I tone it down. For me that is a heartrate of about 160 or so max (though you may be different). I read the 140 bpm stuff and my doctor called BS on it too for women who are used to working out.
@crdo - Those are GREAT numbers! I got the same and was so freaking happy.
@hockeyfan42 - What color are you thinking for the nursery?
@sgoldberg247 - No boob leaking yet but I have more discharge there that is dry and flaky.
@HighFive16 - Whooo hooo baby moon! When are you going? H and I booked a baby moon/anniversary trip/his 40th birthday trip to St Lucia and we are going at the end of February.
@courtjack - I've gained a lot of weight lately too. I was not really gaining much for a while (2-4lbs) but now it seems to be coming in full force (as is my appetite)...lol.
--------------------------------------------- How far along are you? 17 w, 5 days
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Feeling good.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We demo'd our bathroom this weekend...I stayed away for the most part due to the dust and construction material in the air. The demo caused a hole in the wall of our closet AND in the baby's room so now that needs to be fixed too...sigh.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! So many but very few are gluten free sadly and I have celiac. I love ice cream lately.
@mkemommy I ran before I was pregnant everyday 3 miles per day. I also went to the gym every few days and did some weight lifting. But since I got pregnant I haven't ran much because my heart rate shoots up over 140 every time.
In that case @Jerseygirl9090 I wouldn't focus so much on heart rate as I would on can you breathe without needing to grab a breath mid-sentence. I would get a second medical opinion other than your midwife but 140 is an outdated number as far as I'm concerned and my doctor is concerned (again, for people in shape....which is seems like you definitely are). My heart rate shoots to over 140 with a moderate jog at an incline, much less a run.
@noelietrex I have the exact same thing every morning. I figure my LO just likes the left side. I like to imagine he spends all night kicking things out of his way and floating on top. Gravity takes it away as soon as I wake up though.
How far along are you? 16+4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Never in my life have I been so happy about a salad. Today for lunch I literally squealed with glee as the guy at Hale and Hearty handed me my salad. It was like every topping he added made me more happy. I had him throw out lettuce to fit more goodies in. I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese which is ridiculous Bc like you all I'm full after two bites!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Relearning how to knit and packed some stuff up this week.
Questions?
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! Honestly, right now if I see anything with a high sugar content I demolish it. If I can't get some self control stat, I'm toast. Well, after my rice Krispy treat. Then I'll get self control.
@crdo - Good luck with the crocheting. I knit instead of crochet but I have found Youtube videos can be so helpful. A few weeks ago someone mentioned starting a Knitting/Crocheting check in but I never saw it again. I could do that if anyone is interested. I LOVE the temperature blanket. I have never heard of that but it sounds really cool. It could be very interesting where I live because it could be 70 one day and snowing the next. I think I'm going to give it a try.
@laurenm2123 - I am with you on getting full too soon. I was just telling someone this morning that I eat 4 bites and I'm done but then I'm starving an hour later. Last night I was starving and found a cheese stick in the fridge. I at about 2/3 of it and took it to my BF because I couldn't eat another bite. Seriously!
@deepaddy24 - Ugh...I couldn't handle that temp! It is 27 with a 19 windchill here, which is pretty cold for the south.
@BakerBird - Do you mind me asking what SUV's you've narrowed it down to? We are still looking and having a hell of a time deciding.
How far along are you? 15+3
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Rant - I had to start back to work today and my pregnant self did not like getting out of bed before 10am. I certainly didn't feel like dealing with adolescents so early in the morning. They are lovely!! Rave - I am starting to feel little movements on a regular basis. I wouldn't know what it was if I hadn't felt it several times before. I think I've kept myself distant from this pregnancy (previous losses) but I am starting to fall in love with this little girl! Symptoms - I am having a lot of pain in my hips, which I've never had before. I'm still having typical headaches and I've been very weepy for the last few days.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We got the walls painted and the new carpet laid over the break. We will be starting on the sunroom, for the pets, 2 weeks from today. YAY
Questions? Is anyone else having a lot of pain in their hips? I have never felt pain like this in my hips with any other pregnancy. It feels like she is in there pushing on my hips...it is extremely painful. I am going to the chiropractor today to see what he thinks.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! LOVE pecan cheesecake bars. Yum!!
@crdo Good for you for getting started and trying new things! It's good to start with simple stuff so you can get better at it and work on keeping your tension consistent. I've never heard of a temperature afghan, @NicknShan, but I love the idea.
How long does it typically take you two to make a simple, average sized baby blanket?
@NicknShan I have heard of a temperature blanket! I tried to do a CAL last year though and I always lose interest if it takes too long! That's usually why I stick to tiny baby items!
@crdo The time can really depend on the pattern. Some are way quicker than others if they are more "hole-y" or use a think yarn. I'd say doing a plain one would take me a couple of months. I usually crochet for an hour or two most nights when we watch TV, so I'm not as fast as people who can crochet during the day as well. But you'll find that you get quicker as you get used to the stitch and the pattern! Have faith! lol
@mkemommy I love neutrals and the room doesn't get direct sunlight, so I'm going with a light gray-beige. Actual color is called Aged Beige by Behr. I have a friend with Celiac who recommended GF brownies from a box. Freaking delicious! Same for the GF cupcakes. Betty Crocker I believe.
@Jerseygirl9090 everything @mkemommy said!! I am a runner/lifter and my OB said all the exact same things.
ETA: glad you're back @mrsschmity! Hope you feel better soon.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@JonesBaby0624: Thanks! I'd be interested in a check in! That would be great for inspiration and motivation. I tried knitting, but just found I gravitate more towards crochet. Maybe I'll pick knitting back up one day!
@candicek15: Ok, sounds about right for my pace with this (super simple) pattern. I'd like to get a couple of baby blankets done before this LO arrives--gotta get a move on
Lifting moms. I know there was a thread on this a while ago - but do any of you have a routine you'd care to share? I would by no means call myself a lifter, but I used to utilize weights in my work outs and would like to get back to that now that I can stay awake past 7. Only thing is I get easily confused and overwhelmed by the millions of different work outs I print off from online. I would love some input/advice.
@JonesBaby0624: We are planning to get a 2015 model so we can get a better deal so I looked through the 2015 Consumer Reports Car Guide and I narrowed it down to the Subaru Forester (best safety and reliability overall from what I read), Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5.
I'll use whatever fruit is in season with the same basic recipe, but my fave lately is a Blueberry Nectarine Crisp.
https://www.myrecipes.com/m/recipe/nectarine-blueberry-crisp
ETA: Forgot to add that I heard back from our NT scan blood work. Risk of Down's, trisomy 13, and trisomy 18 are all 1 in >10,000. I'll take it!! Phew.
How far along are you? 16w2d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? So over the nausea!

@DeePaddy24: -7F? Girl. Nope. DH and I spent a night in the Ice Hotel in Quebec City years ago. It was a beautiful place, but at -17F outside, one night was plenty
Basic recipe is here: https://www.food.com/recipe/chewy-chocolate-chip-oatmeal-cookies-200083 + add 1-2 tbsp minced grated orange zest to the batter.

Boxed brownies... for my go-to... because they are easy and so delicious when slightly undercooked
If I am actually making a "real" dessert, then it is Reese's Cheesecake Cupcakes:

@BakerBird525 & @NicknShan Those recipes look amazing.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We aren't going to have a baby shower since we are brand new to the area and don't know many people so we are sale shopping for everything. Found an amazing car seat for husbands car from $179 to $70 at target.

GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? So i was born in England and most of my favorite food is English. Rice pudding or birds custard and rhubarb are my absolute favorites. And now I want them... like now.
Bonus if you have a recipe to share!
@catherinekate! Woohoo for June 29!
@BakerBird525: I'm pumped for PLL, too! DH makes fun of me because I'm nearly 30 watching a show about highschoolers, but I sweetly tell him IDGAF
@Kballew10 I hear you on the no symptoms. I'm not showing at all either. I joke that, if not for the pregnancy test, I could have ended up on that TLC show 'I didn't know I was pregnant'

How far along are you? 16w4d
Here's a beanie that I used to make for family and friends when I first started crocheting: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/noodle-baby-hat
I dream about it. If I had saltines on hand, I'd be making it right now.
I left it at her house and I don't remember it all off the top of my head :-(
I really want to make a temperature blanket... and would be gender neutral and meaningful! https://thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-temperature-afghans/

I'm 17 weeks
Symptoms, still prone to gagging at smells and tired.
Prep for baby, none really since my youngest is only 10 months then I don't need anything really lol starting to think about names though.
Favourite dessert, it changes but mostly chocolate self saucing pudding though I like lemon drizzle cake alot atm and fresh fruit
@crdo - Those are GREAT numbers! I got the same and was so freaking happy.
@hockeyfan42 - What color are you thinking for the nursery?
@sgoldberg247 - No boob leaking yet but I have more discharge there that is dry and flaky.
@mrsschmity - What a GREAT gift!

How far along are you? 17 w, 5 days
Rant/Rave/Symptoms? Feeling good.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We demo'd our bathroom this weekend...I stayed away for the most part due to the dust and construction material in the air. The demo caused a hole in the wall of our closet AND in the baby's room so now that needs to be fixed too...sigh.
GTKY: What's your go-to/fave dessert? Bonus if you have a recipe to share! So many but very few are gluten free sadly and I have celiac. I love ice cream lately.

Have faith! lol
@Jerseygirl9090 everything @mkemommy said!! I am a runner/lifter and my OB said all the exact same things.
ETA: glad you're back @mrsschmity! Hope you feel better soon.
@candicek15: Ok, sounds about right for my pace with this (super simple) pattern. I'd like to get a couple of baby blankets done before this LO arrives--gotta get a move on
