Pregnant after IF

1st-Tri, Spotting

Good morning all.

I am currently 9 weeks and I began spotting on Thursday of last week. It lasted tree days. It was a light, brown and wasn't bad. I also had some sharp pains don the side of my abdomen with a dull feeling right at my pubic bone. My doc said to keep my feet up for the next 48 hours, which I did. The spotting stopped and I don't have the dull pain anymore. I have an appointment today for an U/S with my OB. I'm praying my little one is growing strong.

Has anyone had this experience? This is all very new to me, my first pregnancy was a breeze.

The pain could be unrelated. It sounds like it could be RLP (round ligament pain) rather than cramping. RLP is the tendons stretching to support the growth/repositioning of your uterus and occurs throughout pregnancy. I hope that your appointment went well and all was great on the ultrasound.
  • Thinking about you! I hope everything went well today!

  • Update: OP posted in 1st tri thread. Looks like all is well.
  • I'm just about 12 weeks and I also experienced some light, brown spotting yesterday when wiping. I called my doctor's office and spoke to a nurse and her exact words were "brown spotting isn't something we go crazy over" which made me feel better at the time but my maternal anxiety is having a hard time being OK with this. She also said that if it's not red, then it's OK and that brown spotting is old blood that can appear after an exam or intercourse. Again, made me feel better at the time... but the fact that I have to wait 3 more weeks until my next appointment is seriously driving me crazy!
  • Yeah even though they told me that "brown spotting is good, red is bad" My brain says, "any spotting is bad".  I kept my feet up for 48 hours and it was only there when I wiped too, maybe a spot or two on the pad but that was it. If my U/S wasn't the just a few days after that I wouldn't have been OK. I think I would have asked for a U/S, especially since I went through infertility. Good luck, but I am sure you're little one is perfect! :-)
