I have my first OB appt on Thursday with a brand new OB (mine was just too far away from our house and we have a new women's center basically across the street now where we were lucky to get in). My DH is gearing up for a big trial and, while he wants to attend, a book we picked up said to allot 3 hours for the first appt. That may be a little tight for his work schedule, and I would need to adjust a few things in mine. We had an ultrasound last week with my OB's office, so I'm pretty doubtful this visit would also involve one.
So, I would love to hear more about your first OB prenatal visit. How long was your appointment? Do you think it's important for DH to be there? Should I have any specific information from him if he can't make it? What all did your appt involve?
Thanks in advance!!
Eta: I will be 9w5d at the appt in case you think that's relevant.

Re: How long was your first OB appt?
Everyone's ob is different so I would call Monday morning and ask their office how long these appointments usually take for them. 3 hours seems like a really long time for a 1st trimester appointment. It's mostly blood test, urine test, any concerns and here's how our office handles things, kind of meeting.
Personally, I don't think this would be an important appointment for your husband to attend unless he'd like to also get to know your ob. It should be a pretty laid back appointment for you.
