What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc: Routine OB appointment on 1/25.  2nd trimester milestone feels like it's in sight!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Have a weird rash thing on my lower back.  It almost looks like the start of stretch marks or skin chafing (usually I get it between my thighs).  It's red and raised, but not particularly itchy or painful.  It hasn't gotten bigger or smaller since I first noticed it a couple days ago.  Weird!
Had a round of anxiety last night which was the first since my ultrasound in week 9.  I had some cramping and back pain.  Nothing extreme and easily could have just been stretching, constipation issues and/or RLP.  No spotting either which is good.
I've been going back and forth about a home Doppler.  I know if I can find the HB it will make me feel so much better, but I also know that if I can't I will freak even though it could just be user error.  Screw you anxiety, just go away.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?  My honeymoon.  We rented a little cottage in the Finger Lakes region of NY for 4 days.  It was so relaxing and mellow.  I've never felt that happy and content in my life.  I'm trying to convince my husband that we should go back for a before the baby, but he's hesitant since we spent a lot of time in the hot tub and I wouldn't be able to do that this time.

What's Next: First OB appointment after being relegated from the RE today at 3:45. Nervous as hell. I can't stop the thinking that something will be wrong. I was fine up until yesterday and then the anxiety set in. Hoping my husband gets home from work in time to come with me

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: feeling pretty good. Just beyond exhausted today

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?

My wedding in punta Cana DR. We had been there 4 times before that but this was of course special. We had 50 of our closest family and friends attend and it was just magical.

    Status Update: 13+3

What's Next: first appointment since my initial at 8 weeks for the NT scan tomorrow. I'm nervous and pray everything is still ok. I guess I'm in the 2nd trimester depending on who's theory you go with.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: really considering purchasing a Doppler to check for the heartbeat once in between appointments. I think it will help with my anxiety. My ms is down to once a day with Zofran but I wish it would just go away entirely. Here's to hoping it leaves soon.

Optional GTKY: My best vacation was to Playa Del Carmen Mexico for our honeymoon. It was an all inclusive resort and so relaxing!!

    Edit:words
  • Status Update: 12w6d (we have the same due date Boston! Neato!)

What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. next appointment is on Friday, should just be a normal check up.my doctors office only does 3 ultrasounds and the next isn't until 18weeks so I think I'm going to ask for a doppler cause I'm a nervous nelly, lol. It will just give me piece of mind to hear baby's heartbeat. Hopefully gummybear isn't being difficult and cooperates.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I've had terrible nonstop indigestion basically this entire pregnancy and it's driving me crazy. Nothing helps. Not tums, not eating small meals, nothing. Food in general gives me indigestion, it doesn't matter what kind of food. I'm going to bring it up at my apt and hopefully she has something that can help. I also keep having a sharp pain only on my right side in the same spot. I think it's round ligament pain but it's freaking me out a bit, so I hope it's normal.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?

Hm. Probably when hubby and I drove the PCH (pacific coast highway) for our honeymoon and stayed in San Fran, Carmel and Santa Barabara. It was gorgeous and I loved everywhere we stayed. The long bouts of driving weren't exactly my favorite, but doing the drive was on hubbys bucket list so I was happy to do it :3

I have my NT scan next week (1/13) and like PP said I'm starting to get a glimpse of 2nd trimester
    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I'm finally starting to feel better! I finished my antibiotics for my bronchitis, dry heaving has been minimal, I even start to feel hungry again! I'm confident 2nd trimester will be way more enjoyable than the past 6 weeks!
Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
Honeymoon in Hawaii was pretty awesome! It such a beautiful place!
Second best trip Turkey when I was in college as a study-trip.

Status Update: 11 + 4 (lmp is 11 weeks but I've measured ahead the last two ultrasounds so I'm going with that! I also tend to ovulate a few days before the norm too so it's not a huge surprise)

    What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc.
Next appointment is a week from today (Jan. 11) for another ultrasound, then we move to once a month visits. My anxiety is less now but still will be nervous for that appointment, I'm sure.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Still so exhausted and semi nauseous. And SO emotional. I had a huge emotional breakdown yesterday with DH when we were getting ready to head to his parents house for dinner and I felt like I looked like I was exploding out of everything I own to wear. I may have to get a pair of maternity pants and a few tshirts this week just for comfort. Ugh. The bloat is real.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
Our honeymoon to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We did an all inclusive resort so everything was paid for and we didn't touch our wallets once. We had a beautiful room and it was a week of pure bliss. I wish I could go back and relive it. It was the only straight week in my life where everything in my world was simply perfect.

    What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc.
Waiting to hear back from the doc about genetic testing. So far we've learned I'm not a carrier for some things (yay) but now we're waiting on the results of the Harmony (including the sex of the baby!). Could come any day now. Next appointment is the anatomy scan the last week of January (must... stay... patient...)

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I've been very lucky these past 10 days; I decided to go on vacation in the Caribbean with my family and everything went well, my morning sickness felt almost gone (the plane trip brought it back a bit), but I have no reason or right to complain right now. So I'll save it for later when I'll need it again :)

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
Either my honeymoon trip to Puerto Rico, or the week I spent with my husband driving up from San Diego to San Francisco on Route 1. The vacation I just went on reminded me that I need to take more vacation, it had been way too long!!! (of course now I'm supposed to save up my days for my "leave", but I'm going to try to maintain some balance and take some days here and there)

  • Hugs to everyone dealing with anxiety! GL at all these appts!

    What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc.
NT scan next Tuesday, supposed to meet with MFM then too just to make sure we are checking everything we can.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: still feel the same but at least since I announced, I don't have to try so hard to hide it

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
Disney Workd for our honeymoon. It was so much fun!

What's next: My next appt is a week from today. I'm not actually sure what we're doing, probably just a quick check with a Doppler or u/s. I'd love another peek at baby just to see how much he's grown!

Rants/raves: I'm excited to have made it to 2nd tri and that the MS has gotten a little better. Although, today was the first day back to school after two weeks off, and getting up early tends to trigger the vomiting, so that made me late to work this morning. Forgot to factor that in, whoops. But whoa, I had my first real encounter with major RLP last night and it took my breath away. My first thought was that there was no way I'd survive childbirth drug-free if that pain was any indication!

GTKY: This is a tough one. My favorite vacation spot to go to over and over is Michigan. I've been going every summer since I was a kid so it holds a lot of good memories. But the coolest vacation I've ever been on was my honeymoon to Northern Ireland. So ridiculously beautiful and we stayed in the most amazing little cottage only a few miles from the causeways that go along the coast. It wasn't exactly a relaxing trip since we were trying to navigate another country and a new marriage, but it was definitely an adventure. That's a place I'd like to go back to when we're older and wiser (and allowed to rent a car at the airport...hahahaha).

  • I posted this in the Monday bitchfest, but my doctor thinks the rash I posted about earlier is shingles. Called my OB right away and they were very reassuring that this isn't a huge deal and really more of a pain for me than the baby. I've been staying off google and just trusting the doctors. Come on body, pull it together!

What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Ultrasound Next week!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: For a week or so straight I was sick as a dog.  I had two really good days back to back.  It kind of freaked me out a bit, but I'm trying not to let it.  I've had very little spotting -- less than it had been earlier on in my pregnancy which is great.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?  Ah it was one of  our many trips to Myrtle Beach.

    What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc.
My 16 week appt is on the 13th

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Morning sickness won't let me live in peace! But it's not as bad as it was a few weeks ago so I'll live. Yesterday I had a little bit of light spotting and naturally had a complete melt down. There's been no sign of it since it's one appearance so I'm trying to stick with the theory that I just irritated my cervix while throwing snowballs. If it happens again I'll call my midwife but I'm really hoping it was a one time thing...it's hard not to think the worst, even when I've had four good ultrasounds, and heard the heartbeat, and have made it to 2nd tri. Gah will it get easier soon?

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
My husband and our best friend took a six week roadtrip around the country last fall (that's when I got pregnant actually), and it was incredible. Although Tulum, Mexico was pretty amazing too...
  • Hey, it's good to be back! I've been a little MIA with the holidays but read all the updates from last week and it's great to see many appointments going well.

    Status Update: 13+6

What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Appointment with the midwife tomorrow morning that will be my follow up from my NT ultrasound and we will discuss my SCH. I'm wondering if the midwife will keep me or refer me back to my OB. Going back to OB would suck because it's on the other side of the city and I don't want to deliver at that hospital again but I guess I'll see tomorrow.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Now that MS is mostly gone I just feel hungry all the time and things are getting a little snug which I attribute to Christmas eating and not the baby. Oops! Still spotting every few days but I am learning to accept it's probably just the SCH.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken? So hard to choose but I think probably Turks and Caicos. It is so beautiful and we were so relaxed there. I'd love to take my DS there to collect seashells, he would love it!

Good luck to everybody who has appointments coming up over the next week or so! I'm anxious to see all the results!
  • Status Update: 11 weeks

What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Tomorrow at 330 pm is my next appoinment and I will be doing the Harmony test. I hope for an u/s or doppler.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I would love for the right side cramping in the front and back to go away! Still nauseous but not terrible as long as I eat regularly. And always exhausted!

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken? Hmmm... i think the weekend we had in a suite at the Hotel Hershey was awesome especially the spa. Or our trip to California we went to LA and drove to San Francisco.

    What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc.
I have an appt scheduled for Monday, but may go in sooner if symptoms continue.
    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Recently had discharge with dark blood and some mild cramping. Very nervous as we just had a miscarriage in Sept.
Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
    I love visiting Daytona Beach.
  • Hey ladies. Trying not to freak out over here... Tonight I had some blood when I wiped. It came after some excessive wiping post bowel movement. It only lasted a few minutes and with every wipe it was less and less and now it seems to be gone. Fingers crossed. I'm hoping I just irritated my cervix while wiping. I'm 11+4 and had a great U/S a week ago. Trying to calm my nerves and not run to the bathroom every two minutes (that's not going so well, can't help myself) And undecided if I want to tell DH when he's home from work, I know he will just worry.

Ugh. Does the anxiety ever end?
  • (((Hugs))) to everyone who needs them! I know we are waiting on some test results too. How did today's Appointsments go???

    Thoughts and prayers
  • Status Update: 14+5

What's Next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. my next appointment is on Friday! I think I might move it up a little though because today I've been feeling like I have another uti :/

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: all symptoms are still going at full force. I've found since 2nd tri started I have slowly been getting more energy but the constant throwing up puts a damper on doing anything.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?
Honestly anywhere we have been that I get to be by the ocean. I joke that maybe in my previous life I was a fish because I love everything about the ocean! One of my favourite places we go is ocean shores in Washington it's beautiful and my family owns a condo that's backyard is the ocean.
  • @TiffRox81 So freaking happy for you!

@msuzannah I'd go in ASAP. If you wait then your UA won't be back until next week. Gah
  • @BostonBaby1 I'm going to call tomorrow. This is my 3rd one this pregnancy! How are you handling dealing with one for so long? This morning when I peed I knew another one was coming and I cried. My poor husband doesn't know what to do with me anymore!
  • @tennisbabymama BMs are so stressful during pregnancy! You want to go but you can't and then you strain a bit only to find blood. It happens to me a lot so I'm sure it's just the pressure from the BM. FX you don't see any more spotting.

    Up Next: Finding out EDD

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: No morning sickness, hungry ALL. THE. TIME. that's it so far

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?

I went to California for a month after I graduated college, it was wonderful. We spent our time mostly at theme parks and the beach. We were planning to go back this past summer but DS was due the beginning of June, so plans were for this summer but I'm having another baby- so we're never leaving Kansas again, ha.

Honestly, I was asymptotic for most of the time... They finally put me on a different antibiotic hoping this one will work. I hope you get answers. Also ask if you can take AZO otc relief if you need it.
  • Status Update: 11w + 4

What's Next: I have an appointment on Friday! Going to be scheduling my NT testing. I've been going back and forth about whether I wanted to do the testing or not. I think I have decided to do it.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I CANNOT stop throwing up! Every morning when I get out of bed I get sick. Just stomach fluids since I haven't eaten anything. But the force from the vomiting sometimes makes me pee a little. I'm pretty sure my boyfriend is disgusted by me. Also, I'm pretty nervous. I've had this feeling like something is wrong for the last couple of days. I hope I'm wrong.

Optional GTKY: To where was the best vacation you've ever taken?

I don't know if I have a "best" vacation. I love all my vacations for different reasons. Sonoma was great. New Orleans. Italy this summer was amazing too.

Mommy to an angel baby and a sweet little girl Earth side.
  • @LifeofLauren2 where in Italy were you? I love being in Italy during the summer! I haven't been for several years, but I used to go to the Amalfi coast every July.
  • Are any of you still able to sleep on your stomach comfortably?  I'm 11+3 today and got nervous this morning because I'm still able to easily sleep on my stomach.  Felt like maybe that means I'm not getting any bigger.  Am I being totally irrational?

Just now switching to the side because I can feel something on the stomach but it's not even too bothersome, I'm just training myself to get used to it. I don't think I was feeling anything weird at 11w. Fingers crossed you'll get through the shingles as quickly as possible!

That's what we're here for! How are you feeling with the shingles?

@BnKNovember i'm glad that you had a great scan! FX the blood work comes back while.
  • @megstervt I'm still belly sleeping at 11w4d. I keep looking at the HDBD pictures and it freaked me out also that I still haven't gained a pound and I'm still in all my normal pants.

Ultrasound went great. Baby is measuring perfectly and I really am happy with my new OB. On the other hand I am totally annoyed with the ultrasound tech. I was 11w2d and she asked if we were finding out the sex with our harmony test results. As soon as we said yes she decided to announce that it was a boy. Ummmm WUT?! Isn't it way early for that?! Now my husband has his heart set on it being a boy. I wish she never said that because as we all know it can go either way at 11 weeks

As usual you guys have made me feel a million times better. My brain is a dark and twisty place sometimes!

@BostonBaby1 I'm feeling OK. My case is really mild, the rash is just a small spot on my back, about the size of a quarter. It's more uncomfortable than painful. But I'm having a lot of the associated symptoms like fever, fatigue and headaches. My doc and OB said its like my body is just in over drive trying to grow a human and keep this at bay.
I work with children in schools and daycare so as a precaution I'm not seeing anyone this week (don't want to give an unvaccinated kid chicken pox!). It means I can hang in my office and take it easy and my boss is super flexible so really I'm working limited hours this week so I can rest up. I have to miss my office holiday party Friday though since a couple of my co-workers are bringing their little babies who haven't been vaccinated yet and I'm not comfortable risking them getting sick either! Kind of bummed about that but it's worth it to keep those couple babies safe.
