Re: New Year's (and New Mom!) Resolutions

  • New mom resolutions:

Do not follow traditions and instead use logic and research.

Remain patient and in tuned with my body and baby. Remain focused on health not obsess on losing baby fat.

Keep yoga and mantras in daily routine.

Trust in the wisdom of my body and baby's body.

Provide a peaceful, joyful, organic and educational environment for baby.

    Personal resolution:
    Develop career as Life Coach.

  • Respond instead of react. Don't sweat the small stuff! Anything to keep anxiety at bay.

So far so good except for a few hiccups with holiday stress. Let's hope 2016 sees the trend continued.

  • I normally don't do resolutions, more like planning. My plan this year is to get more organized, DH is a pack rat. I want anything that isn't used at least once a month gone, with exceptions to things that are memorable, tools, seasonal or super important paperwork. My DH won't let me throw away 3 laptop boxes from over 1 year ago (the warranty is expired so there's no point in keeping them, but he seems to think there is). We obviously are adding another child in the mix, we will be moving again in April and I need this crap gone. It's not an exciting New Years "resolution" but it needs to be done.

  • Get through the year. Try to make good memories. Enjoy every minute that I can. Oh, and don't murder, maim, or otherwise disfigure anyone.

  • @lindscnn1 ahh garbage like that gives me so much anxiety. We live in a small but perfect-for-us 2 bedroom flat. Despite people thinking we're nuts there is plenty of room for us, the kids and the dog as long as clutter doesn't accumulate.
Boxes for packaging drives me and husband NUTS. Unless you live rural not near a repair place where you bought the equipment (you'd have to ship it) you don't need the boxes. My Mom got mad at us because we recycled all the Christmas boxes and bags, she was offended that we didn't "fold them and keep them under our bed til April" (when she's visiting). I had to politely tell her we couldn't then tell her that we don't have room to storage garbage. Then not so politely. When you live in a 2 1/2 story 5 bedroom house you forget that not everyone has as much space as you!

As for my resolution my goal is to get off my phone and read more. Mission achieved! I'm 1/2 through an awesome book I abandoned months ago.
