What do you do- Contractions

So, I've been getting a lot of painful, false contractions. I was wondering if any of you do anything when you feel them coming on. Like, start walking around or dancing (lol) in hopes that it will help turn into real labor. Or, do you try to make them stop instead? Before, I was taking hot showers and doing all these things to get relief but now everytime I feel them come on, I get up and move around a lot no matter how much pain I am in hoping they continue and progress into the real thing! Not sure if it will work or not. Wishful thinking ;D

Re: What do you do- Contractions

  • I always try and see if they progress. I try and stay upright no matter what, bounce on my ball, take a walk... If they get worse with exercise that's a good sign they might be real labour!

  • I try to keep them going and but then inevitably they go nowhere so now I try for a little and then go to sleep. They seem to start around 10pm almost every night so I figure if it is real labor then they will wake me up at some point. I'm tired of thinking this could be it! Lol

I know! I feel the same way! It is so frustrating getting excited over nothing lol
  • I'm only 36+3 so I'm still trying to make them stop.

  • Drink water and breathe through them. They tend to go away.
  • Breathe. And cry. I just had my son on December 30th and I was so upset because my parents would NOT leave my delivery room when the contractions got unbearable (they broke my water so it was so sudden I couldn't handle it). All I wanted to do was cry. I lasted an hour after my water was broke before getting the epidural. I wish I had the lady balls to kick my parents out of my room, but I was in so much pain I couldn't even talk.
