  • 39 w 3 days . Due jan 07th. FTM with Gestational diabetes, diet controlled. I'll see my doc on mon. My cervix was just soft until last time and I have been loosing my mucus plug and baby's head down that's it. No plans of induction from doc yet. Seems like the time has stopped.
  • 40 weeks on Monday. Have had problems with my uterine arteries so was on modified bed rest. My doctor's office was closed the last two weeks and was told not to see an appointment because doc thought I'd have my baby before he was back from his break. Well I'm still pregnant. I don't know what his plans are but I'm ready to have this little guy! I do feel lucky to make it to 40 weeks tho because at 30 weeks there was talk of not making it much further because of my issues.
  • 40 weeks 4 days, induction set for Monday night at 41 weeks was hoping I wouldn't make it until then but after two membrane sweeps I feel NOTHING, hopefully that changes quick!
  • Last two nights/days I've had 2-3 cups RLT, 2-4 dates, bounced on my ball and/or walked, rubbed clary sage oil on the bump, and had sex.

Thursday night it causes about 5 hours of uncomfortable but painless BH and lost some plug yesterday morning. Last night I added nipple stimulation after sex and even before sex my back felt worse than it's ever felt so I wondered if something was going on there. Well after hours (didn't track cause I was in and out of sleep) of either painful BH or mild real contractions and terrible back pain (could barely walk) I have no baby to show for it and no contractions at all this morning. FWIW the contractions felt like menstrual cramps and wrapped around to where I was already having back pain and intensified it. It felt like a preview of labour and I'd like to not do that again unless it's actually baby time.

Going to try all the things again today and use the pump for nipple stimulation. If tonight isn't the night then I might give sex a break for a few days to give myself a good nights sleep (since it seems to make things happen but not enough). Next week I see my midwife Wednesday for a check, at which point I'm going to schedule a sweep for Friday. Thursday I go for a fetal assessment and depending on what they say I'm going to go ahead with a sweep Friday and might schedule an acupuncture appointment for Friday as well.
  • @EmmyMommy123 I love it! Just took a shower and got out to find 2 "no baby yet?!" Texts. I will be f-ing elated and will tell the world when my baby is here. I promise!
  • I'm only 39 weeks but constantly leaking milk, can barely sit down, can't stop having random emotional outbursts (saw a nature documentary with baby elephants who got stuck in a river and was inconsolable), no idea if I'm dilated or effaced or anything (my midwife doesn't check routinely) and my whole family are treating me like a ticking time bomb! Arghhhhh I feel all your pain and it feels so good to rant! Can't wait for the big day!!!!!!!
  • Update: lost plug (I think it was the rest of it)...happy dance!

I know labour could still be quite a ways away, but it's nice to know my efforts contributed to something happening!

I lost mine a little bit ago, too! Nice to finally have some action lol
  • @Alyssaerin996 love the graphic! I'm 40+1 and everyone keeps telling me they're ready for this baby- I'm like no way you're more ready than I am!

Have had false labor over past week but nothing regular...seems like baby just wants to stay put but I'm trying everything to change that!
  • Uh I'll be 39+3 tomorrow. I'm so ready to have this baby. We just walked 3.5 miles at the zoo today. I'm gonna try pumping here in a bit to see if some things can get kick started. Lost a bit of the plug I think, but not all. Been having either painful, timeable BHx at night or prodromal labor which is annoying. Also been doing EPO vaginally and orally + sex so much my hubby doesn't want it anymore (I had no idea that was possible!).

I really don't want to go back to work on Monday.

  • Hiiii @grkgdss00 ! High five! Lol. Do you think you'll feel better by Monday? That doesn't seem too far fetched if it's just a cold? Definitely sending you healing vibes and some positive labor juju. :)
  • Omfg. Idk if it's because I'm finally 40 weeks but everyone keeps asking me if I'm having contractions and how I'm feeling or telling me to hurry up and have this baby. Like wtf man. Leave me alone. The comments just make me more upset.
  • 40 weeks and 2 days and same complaint as all of you.... If one more person asks me if baby is here......ughh..... I literally have to put my phone on silence so I can sleep in the morning from everyone and their momma's being sooo annoying...
  • @Mamabeagle Omg brilliant idea.... I'm going to tell them a due date at least a month off....Grr so annoying!
  • I got a txt from my mil yesterday encouraging me to have sex. What? Awkward! I couldn't bring myself to let Dh know about it. He'd be mortified. And I got three today from mil today about signs and wanting to (immediately) when labor is starting ect. Sil wants to know (immediately) also. What's up with that? I 'm due1/5. I'm planning on being left the hell alone, I haven't told any one I'm not telling anyone until after the golden hour. Maybe they know me better then I think they do. I'm 39.5 and no signs of labor. I wish there was something I could distract myself with, something else I could talk/think about but the waiting game is all consuming!
  • Try drinking castor oil
  • I'm due on d 4th if baby don't come by d 6th they will induce labor on d 6th

40 weeks today with my 3rd. REALLY wanted to go into labor on my own with this one since it will be our last. None of my babies wanted to come on their own and I was induced with both other pregnancies. Feeling really defeated.

  • I too was hoping to not be induced with this one. This is number 5 and I have been induced with all my others.
  • I awoke today to find myself 40+6 and no further progress, so I definitely feel everyone's pain! I'd like to co-sign the don't drink castor oil comment, though. They really don't recommend that anymore (you can consult Dr. Google for lots of examples). For a real life anecdote, my sister did it out of desperation at 41 weeks and went into labor about 8 hours later BUT was vomiting and had diarrhea for the entire 24 hours of her labor. She was so dehydrated and weak that her pushing failed and she wound up with a section.

ETA: I know that's just one example but I was close enough to it that it really stuck with me! :o
  • Another night of good but irregular contractions, followed by regular but spaced out and mild contractions while I tried to sleep that eventually stopped. Sigh! Going to take it easy today and not *try* to induce (sex, pump), if for no other reason than to get a good night sleep. In other words...I'll be going into labour tonight since tonight I hope to have a good sleep lol.
  • @cZa How long will they let you go? I was feeling really (really, really) low last night too and was doing some reading. Babies aren't considered "post-term" until after 42 weeks so I'm planning on a very frank conversation with my midwife about allowing me to go another full week, assuming everything is ok with baby (fluid levels, placenta intact, etc). I know there are risks with waiting too, but I'm hoping it's a viable option for me. Maybe you will still go into labor on your own?

    SIGH. This is so frustrating.
